Chapter 6 - Anti Mainstream Girl

The door was open. Ivory rushed in and closed it again. It was no longer a shame if an angel was naked in front of other angels.

Ivory's eyes stared at Aleya's wings and then touched them. Her eyes were closed and a bluish light flashed directly onto Aleya's wound.

"It's healed now. Are you feeling better?" Ivory asked.

Aleya nodded her head. "What's going on? Is it just me?" Asked Aleya.

"Everyone has felt it. Because of your unfamiliarity with traveling without wings, you have a wound on the tip," said Ivory.

Aleya swallowed. She looked at her back through the mirror in her closet and then Aleya grabbed her clothes back for her to put on again.

"Don't! You'd better keep staying like this. I and Gabriel also received orders from The Father that we free you all to use your wings when finished with your meetings," explained Ivory.

"Are you feeling the same thing?" asked Aleya.

But Ivory shook her head. "No. Gabriel and I have gotten used to it. So nothing happened to us. Now, you should get some sleep."

Ivory came out of the room and Aleya was silent again contemplating what had just happened to her. She tried to lay down on her stomach and looked out the window of her room which was dark because of the night.

She sighed as she closed her eyes. Suddenly her tears flowed down past her other eye and through the pillow. She didn't know why she was crying, but when she saw the wound on her wing, she felt so scared.

"Drrt, drrt, drrt."

Her cell phone which was on the nightstand next to her bed vibrated. Aleya opened her eyes and reached for her cell phone. She saw Leo's name appear on the screen. Her brow furrowed as the man called her on a night like this which made her feel confused.

But Aleya chose not to answer the call. She even changed the vibrate mode to silent. She didn't want to be disturbed when she was home. According to her, the work was done outside the home. Moreover, the work has nothing to do with household activities.

And finally, Aleya slept until before sunrise, she was awakened by the alarm in her body. It was time to pray with the other angels.

After praying, some of them made breakfast to eat together. Aleya herself was only in charge of preparing the dining table and arranging it neatly.

"Good morning, everyone. I hope you are all well for today. Feel free to come to me or Ivory if what happened last night happens to you again," Gabriel said.

They answered in unison while Aleya preferred to be quiet and eat her breakfast. She didn't want to talk if she thought she understood.

And after breakfast, all parted. Aleya was even ready with a sling bag that will be her friend everywhere.

"Hey, I'm going for a walk with you," Ivory said, approaching her.

"What if Leo sees you and asks who you are?"

"Just answer if you and I are sisters."

"But we don't look the same, Ivoria."

"Stepsister. Come on, Aleya ... a little lie is fine. You have to be smart to find answers. And that's why Gabriel and I asked you to write a report," explained Ivory.

Aleya couldn't help but take a deep breath. She couldn't do anything if Ivory had some kind of answer for her.

"Ah, I forgot. What are you going to do to want to go with me?" asked Aleya. They started walking together while talking.

"I'm going to the shopping center. There are some materials and tools that aren't in the house," answered Ivory.

Aleya nodded her head. They became silent after they had spoken enough to know a few things. She was confused about what she would do if she met Leo.

"What should I do if I meet him?" asked Aleya, finally speaking, asking for Ivory's opinion.

"He's not in his swanky office today. I'll show you his apartment. And he's drinking coffee at a nearby coffee shop," answered Ivory.

Aleya chuckled in response. "I know that, Ivoria. But I don't know what I will do with him."

Ivory chuckled as she looked at her. She patted Aleya's shoulder until she finally cleared her throat. "Ah... how about going for a walk? He's still as lonely as ever, Aleya. You have to be creative."

Lonely. That one word was something that described Leo. Even though Aleya herself was a lonely angel too. But by being with Leo, her loneliness was erased even if only temporarily.

Suddenly Ivory parted with Aleya. She told Aleya to try on her own, even though that's what Aleya was doing. And as he was about to pass the cafe Leo was using for coffee, she exhaled.

Pretending to order something hot, Aleya saw Leo sitting quietly, reading something from his tablet.

"Shalom, Leo..." Aleya greeted him.

And there was no need to guess who greeted him, Leo already knew who. He smiled at Aleya as he took his eyes off his tablet.

"Shalom, Aleya. Do you come here alone?" Leo asked.

"I am. May I share the table with you?" asked Aleya.

Leo held out his hand to show that he allowed her. "Sure, please, just sit down."

They sat down face to face again. Aleya took a sip of her rose tea elegantly and then put it back on the table.

"I called you last night. Aren't you with your cell phone?"

"Oh. Sorry about that. I happened to forget to tell you that I can't be bothered by anyone when I'm home, Leo."

Leo's head tilted slightly. His face looked curious. "Hmm? Why?"

"I don't want to be bothered by anything, Leo. I prefer to rest when I'm home. Isn't that what you want to do when you come home from your office? That is a simple example, isn't it?"

Leo nodded in understanding. But he realized again that Aleya was a girl who was anti-mainstream. Because so far Leo had never met someone without a cell phone at home. In fact, according to him, playing on mobile phones when at home was more fun and free.

"Don't feel weird because I'm different. The truth is this is me, Leo. And there will be other things that might surprise you again later about me," said Aleya.
