Amitabha Buddha was defeated, and there was nothing left to say. He collected his magical treasures and left on his own.
After Amitabha Buddha had left, Wukong then mounted the clouds and headed towards Spiritual Mountain.
Tathagata asked, "Was Amitabha Buddha victorious, or was he defeated?"
Burning Lamp hesitated for a moment before saying, "He must have been victorious; otherwise, why has that monkey not been seen for two months? Did he not claim he would save all of us Buddhas? Since he hasn't yet come, he must have been defeated by Amitabha Buddha. Besides, Amitabha Buddha's mana is profound, and he has been a Heavenly Dao Saint for tens of thousands of years, his roots deep and solid. This monkey is merely a newly ascended saint; how could he be a match for Amitabha Buddha?"
Tathagata, hearing this, also felt it made sense and said, "The words of Burning Lamp Buddha are reasonable. It seems that my Spiritual Mountain has escaped a calamity."
