Maya and Ethan had been dating for a few months now, and things seemed to be going well. They spent most of their time together exploring the city, trying new restaurants, and attending concerts and shows. Maya had even introduced Ethan to her parents, who had welcomed him with open arms.
But as time went on, Maya began to notice some cracks in their relationship. Ethan was always busy with work and rarely had time for her during the week. When they did make plans, he often canceled at the last minute, leaving her feeling disappointed and lonely.
One night, Maya confronted Ethan about his behavior. "I feel like you're always putting work before me," she said. "I understand that you have a demanding job, but I need you to make more of an effort to be with me."
Ethan seemed taken aback by her words. "Maya, I'm sorry if I've made you feel neglected. I do care about you, but my job is important to me. I promise to make more time for you from now on."
Maya felt reassured by his words, but as time went on, she realized that things weren't getting any better. Ethan was still always busy, and Maya felt like she was always the one making plans and trying to keep their relationship alive.
One day, Maya's friend Sarah suggested that they go out for a girls' night. Maya hesitated at first, feeling guilty about leaving Ethan alone, but Sarah convinced her to go. As they were out, Maya couldn't help but feel like something was off. She had a nagging feeling that she was neglecting her relationship, even though she had done everything she could to make it work.
When Maya returned home, she found Ethan waiting for her with a worried expression on his face. "Maya, we need to talk," he said.
Maya's heart sank as Ethan explained that he had been offered a job in London and that he had decided to take it. "I know this is sudden, but I need to take this opportunity," he said. "I want you to come with me, Maya. We can make this work."
Maya was torn. On one hand, she loved Ethan and didn't want to lose him. On the other hand, she had just started to build a life for herself in New York City, and she wasn't sure she was ready to leave it all behind. She needed time to think, to weigh her options, and to figure out what was most important to her.
