Ch7: The Kids Of Carbonado

In the woods of Carbonado, Washington, 2070, Galia's POV;

With a shimmer of light and sound of a great wolf howl, I stood on a trail. This trail was in a beautiful patch of trees. The trees were full evergreen trees, which made only a little light shine through the trees.

Bird chirped and Frogs croaked in the distance. My brown ringlets were slightly tangled and messy. My once dull grey eyes have been lightened with silvery and white flecks.

I walked along the trail, awaiting to find some kind of civilization. It took awhile of walking until I reached a small town.

The only problem was that some of the town was burnt to ashes. The once scary house by the school was only the structure. Animals fled the house.

I looked around and saw a few little kids scrummaging for food in an abandoned house. "Hello?" I said in a more loud voice so I could guarantee that they heard me.

They kids looked up and saw me. Their eyes darted around before sprinting away with only what they could carry.

"No wait!" I exclaimed running after them, and with my speed, I sprinted faster than the naked eye could see.

The kids ran inside the old school and I followed. I kept yelling stop but they wouldn't listen and when I arrived inside they were huddled together with other people, probably older siblings or family.

"I don't mean any harm. I just want to know where I am, and what's going on" I said softly putting my hands up in surrender.

The oldest of the kids, stood straight up and looked at me. "You are in Carbonado Washington, and you have now witnessed the after wrath of the Queen's war." The kid said, clearly.

The kid was a boy, his hair was past his ears, and a shaggy blond color. He had piercing emerald green eyes and freckles that were scattered around his face like splattered brown paint. His face was somewhat covered in dirt and grime, as well as his clothes.

"The Queen?" I said looking back at him and he looked at me weirdly.

"The Queen is the lady who is basically planning our death and the downfall of others , with the help of her monsters." The kid said, his emerald eyes darting around.

I bit my lip anxiously and sighed. "Is she why you are here?" I asked, looking around.

"Not exactly, Miss. We all lived here, and many of our parents died, along with our homes. We had no choice to become what people call 'street rats' So she is mostly the reason though" The kid said, his eyes showed hints of sadness and anger, he wanted revenge.

"Don't call me Miss, my name is Galia. What's yours, Kid?" I replied, my brain storing the information He was telling me.

"My name is Elijah.." The kid- Elijah said looking over to the other kids. The other kids nodded and you could see he relaxed a bit.

"But Mis- Galia, Why do you need to know my name?" He asked, fidgeting with the hem of his sleeves. The other kids seemed a little uneasy, awaiting my answer.

"I need to know who's name I should dedicate the Queen's death to" I replied, darting my eyes from each of the children and back at Elijah. Their eyes hinted with happiness or something else, but either way I knew i would complete this task, and when I have the Queen's blood on my hands, I will remember Elijah. The young boy who has been through so much, but still stays strong.
