The beautiful scent of flowers, the calmness found in morbid silence, the yearning of sweet blue berries and maple syrup on top of pancakes, the sound of horses, and of course — Aymée Nuviola, a Cuban singer, pianist, composer and actress, nicknamed "La Sonera del Mundo" all over my ears as she sang "The Cold Drop" in the most soothing salsa way I've ever heard before. I was half awake but yet still I was still doing the moves on my sleep, reminded me of the club I was in yesterday in Mexico where Martin and I drank a lot of tequila and danced salsa with the locals.
No one noticed me with the cowboy hat, boots and the beards which made me completely a new person. The vibe of the salsa music we had in Mexico somehow travelled to Rose Hill and I was grateful for Martin for putting up the record at such hours. I kept humming alongside Aymée Nuviola although my lack of Spanish practices betrayed me and I didn't know any words.
