Although Marcus knew it wouldn't be easy for him to speak his truth and own it that he was in love with Diana, however Gabrielle had another plan and that was to convince him to speak out and own his way to Diana. The next day early in the morning Diana woke up and went straight to the police station which was responsible for looking into Jacob's death.
Along the way she passed through police officers who some couldn't keep it to themselves and they gawked at how hot she was. Her mother, Elizabeth was with her, she flew from Boston last night to be with her daughter and making sure she was holding on good.
"Is this really necessary Diana?" asked Elizabeth.
"What do you mean is it necessary, it's my husband Mom. I need to know who shot him"
"The police said there wasn't cameras at the parking lot. You told me this... what are we really doing here"
"There must be some hidden CCTV cameras mom, they just erased it or did something to them. I need to find out the truth" insisted Diana.
Elizabeth sat on the chair at the waiting lounge of the station, Diana walked to the head of the department of investigation who was a young black man in his mid thirties. His name was Edmond, he was a six foot two man with such shiny beards and freshly cut hair.
"Mrs Miller... It's nice to see you again"
"Likewise inspector Edmond. Any leads as of yet?"
"Please, follow me to my office" said Edmond and led the way. Elizabeth was still sitting on the chair waiting, Diana motioned "Wai for me" and proceeded with inspector Edmond.
The whole station was chaotic, there was constantly opening and closing of doors. Convicts were brought in and some taken out, as long as it was a police station and it had to look like it. Marcus entered followed by Martin and they were stalking Diana however they didn't want to make it obvious.
"There... that's her mother, where's she?" Martin was alarmed but Marcus patted his shoulder.
"Calm down man, I'll take it from here" said Marcus and went straight to Elizabeth.
These two hadn't met yet not even once but Marcus had done his homework concerning Elizabeth a few days a go and he found out she was a divorced woman who her ex husband has moved on to Scotland and she remained all alone in Boston. Elizabeth was a kind woman, understanding, perfectly charming and humble. She valued her children more than anything in the world, even when she thought they were strong enough still she wanted to be there for them. "I do remember Diana mentioning her younger sister named Linda. She's a bit of a black sheep of the family, she appears and disappears whenever she wishes and she isn't so kind. I truly hope it isn't the same Linda I smashed with my club few months ago for that would make me a murderer in Diana's life" Marcus thought out loud as he made his way to Elizabeth.
Elizabeth was distracted and seemed nervous. "Elizabeth?" called out Marcus and Elizabeth turned her attention to her left hand to see who it was.
"I'm sorry, do I know you?" she asked.
"Oh! Good Lord! Where are my manners, I am Marcus Orlando a friend's of your daughter Diana. I saw you through photographs and I thought you looked familiar... please feel free to prove me wrong if you are not"
"Actually, you are very right. Diana is indeed my daughter"
"Can I sit?"
"Yes, yes please... you are so handsome" chuckled Elizabeth and she seemed to like Marcus already.
As Marcus got seated Elizabeth kept staring at the room where Diana and inspector Edmond had gone to, then she pointed out "There, that's where she is. Poor girl, she has always been feisty and stubborn to give up. You see that's the reason she became a lawyer, cause she can't give up on stuffs"
"What stuffs? Of course if you don't mind me asking"
"No son, I don't mind. It's about Jacob and she can't stop looking into his death. One time she told me there were no cameras and the next she thinks there were actually hidden CCTV cameras around the parking lot. I mean... if you ask me it's just seem too much" explained Elizabeth and Marcus's eyes widened with amazement.
He went from paying attention to what Diana was saying, to overthinking about the term hidden CCTV cameras. From there Elizabeth's voice lessens as his heartbeat race worsens and he suddenly stopped Elizabeth.
"You said hidden cameras?" he asked.
"Yes, that's what I said. Are you alright son..." Elizabeth asked after observing a change in Marcus's eyes and posture. He seemed scared and afraid to the point he couldn't hide anymore - Martin came to the rescue.
"Sir, the paperworks are done" said Martin and suddenly Marcus felt better looking at his bodyguard.
"Done?"
"Yes sir, hello ma'am, I'm Martin. His personal bodyguard" Martin raised his hand to Elizabeth.
"Ooh, his bodyguard?"
"Yes ma'am"
Elizabeth giggled shyly "How rich is he to need bodyguard?
"Very rich... come on sir, we gotta go" insisted Martin after seeing Marcus was four five seconds from having an episode.
Martin grabbed Marcus and they walked outside, Elizabeth however insisted they stayed and wait for Diana, but Martin made sure to get Marcus out.
When they reached their car, Martin pushed Marcus to the passengers seat then he hoped to the driver's seat and started the car as soon as possible. Marcus couldn't breath and no matter how much he tried to calm down, this day he couldn't control his panic attack and it drove him mad.
"There are hidden cameras, they'll find us... she'll know that I killed her husband. She will never forgive me..." Marcus said and then be took out his shirt and opened the car window.
"Sir, I'm gonna need you to stay calm right now. It's all good... everything is going to be fine"
"Nothing is going to be fine!" He shouted "You did this Martin! You put us all in danger"
"I think it's time you go to back to therapy, lemme book an appointment for you"
Martin drove straight to the hospital where Marcus was usually treated privately with his psychologist even though he fought against it. Marcus was strong but Martin was stronger and when he fought him inside the car refusing to be put to sleep, Martin had to pin him down and inject him with the sleeping portion. "Right there... you gon be fine sir" he said exhaling with relief and two minutes later Marcus was knocked out.
It may have started a little bit chaotic but Marcus had a huge meeting this day with potential clients from China who were looking to partner with Marcus's streaming giant inorder to spread it all over China after all Marcus was competing with Netflix hence he had to make such deals inorder to widen the company and reach more audiences. Phoebe called more than ten times without response, Marcus was already inside the hospital as he was admitted through the back door and very discreetly so as to avoid paparazzi pictures and news considering it was still early in the morning.
The eleventh time Martin picked up when Phoebe called since he had Marcus's phone on his pockets.
"Phoebe... what is it?" asked Martin.
"Martin? What are you doing with boss's phone?"
"What do you want?"
"He has to be here in the next thirty minutes, it's the big day of the meeting. Please... the investors from China are already here and we have booked them the most expensive presidential suite in Ritz Carlton. If he doesn't close this deal today then we are going to have to reschedule and that will cost us another twenty thousand dollars"
Martin exhaled and then looked at Marcus laying down on bed unconscious, he hang up the phone and then reached out for a chair and sat down - he was exhausted. Martin had serve in countries like Iraq and Afghanistan but even he admitted that serving Marcus was the hardest work and it needed someone who would really like him inorder to do it, that's when he realized why many bodyguards before him failed and ran off. Marcus was like a baby who needed constant looking and constant worrying about him and praying that he doesn't mess up some stuffs.
While thinking Martin had an idea, and that's when he called Diana.
"Hello Mrs Miller... it's Martin"
"Hey Martin, what's up? My mother said Marcus stopped by the police station earlier, I'm disappointed I didn't get to see you"
"As were we but duty called. Calling on his behalf, Marcus would love if you represented him today in a meeting which is about to take place in the next thirty minutes at Orlando Corporation with some beneficiaries from China"
Diana was awestruck and excited "Really? He wants me to go?"
"I wouldn't have called Mrs Miller. I hope you'll make him proud, and best of luck. Phoebe will fill you in with all the details"
"Thank you Martin"
"Thank you Diana" Martin said then he hang up the phone and exhaled feeling like a winner after solving that problem.
