Mi Sungs vacation

Mi Sung hated the cold and it was freezing when she got off the plane that Naomi booked for her. She boarded her own private car to take her to the foot of the mountains where Alex was supposedly skiing at. The mountains were near a rural countryside area near the outskirts of the U.K. Mi Sung never suspected a thing because she was aware of how athletic Alex was.

The private car lost WiFi and connection to the outside world merely a quarter of the way to the foot of the mountains. Mi Sung was already beyond pissed by how cold it was but losing connection was the last straw. She swore that she would sue the private car's company if she didn't get her WiFi back. It took quite a bit of explaining before the driver finally lost his patience and snapped back at her. He stopped the car and threatened to kick her out in the middle of nowhere since he was losing his job anyways. This effectively shut Mi Sung up for a while.

As they reached the point where she was supposed to transfer to a gondola lift, the temperature dropped another few degrees. Mi Sung who was quite sensitive to the cold kept on swearing she was going to get frostbite. Her driver already cranked up the heat as high as he could. He rolled his eyes throughout the journey and was grateful when they finally arrived at their destination. He bundled up with many layers as he lifted her bulky and large luggage and suitcases out of the trunk and passenger seat.

The private car driver drove as fast as he could as soon as Mi Sung got off the car. The person operating the gondola lift had to do a mandatory security check of Mi Sung's luggage so Mi Sung had to stand outside in the cold. He couldn't let her into the small operator box because the floor was covered in her luggage.

She almost fainted from rage and threatened to sue the operator for involuntary manslaughter. The operator was already pissed because it was her fault for having so much luggage and not bundling up when she clearly had clothes to bundle up in. He could tell the moment she got off the car that she was one of those snobby rich kids. He disliked haughty people and Mi Sung's tone coupled with her threat to sue him made him snap. He only managed to check one luggage so he told her she was limited to only one suitcase.

Mi Sung was ready to continue arguing but the operator cut her off. The operator didn't budge at all with the luggage limit he enforced, even when she pulled out a platinum debit card. Mi Sung had to organize her luggage into one suitcase in the cold for a half hour because she couldn't decide what to bring along.

She finally got on the gondola lift, which was only slightly warmer than the temperature outside. It took her an hour before she arrived in the mountains where temperatures remained below 5°C.

She checked in to the ski resort and demanded for the best room they had to offer. The manager was called over after merely 3 minutes because the ski resort was booked. It took quite a bit of arguing and overpaying before she managed to snag a log cabin that was part of the ski resort's property.

She was smug when she won the argument and snatched the keys from the manager's hand. But the smirk on her face disappeared as soon as she saw the practically bare cabin. The lodging was subpar at best, yet it still cost quite a bit of money for her to get it.

She was ready to scream and flipped out at the resort owner who was ready to kick her out. She complained for at least half an hour before she was forced to go back to her log cabin and deal with it. She didn't understand why Alex would go to such a place of his own accord. There was no WiFi or internet in the log cabin and the resort was actually quite a distance away. There was no way she could survive without internet for another hour.

But as dense as Mi Sung was, she knew that going back to the resort was not an option. The resort owner made it clear that he didn't want her there especially after she threatened to sue. She tried to make good on her promise that time and it was a huge mistake. She couldn't contact any of her lawyers in South Korea due to time differences, which she completely forgot about until her calls went unanswered for the 30th time.

So all she could do was to endure until she found Alex and dragged him back to the city for their wedding. She took a long shower then laid on her bed, pulling out her phone. She saw that the cell signal had only 1 bar and got up from the bed. She walked all around the room holding up her phone trying to get a better signal. But after walking around for a good 10 minutes the 1 bar died down to no signal. She wanted to throw her stupid phone onto the floor out of frustration.

But she needed to find Alex. So as a last resort she bundled up and went outside the warm log cabin. After walking around for a bit, the no signal jumped from 1 bar to 3 bars and she could finally make the call.

She immediately dialed Alex's number and waited for him to answer. But after calling 10 times, all her calls went to voicemail. She grumbled and threw her phone onto the ground. She didn't notice the rocky ground merely a few inches underneath the snow. So when she heard the crack, she was startled. She quickly bent down to pick it back up. She was scared that her only way of contacting Alex would be gone if her phone broke. Upon seeing the large web-like crack on the screen protector, she was ready to cry. She hurriedly clicked the power button, hoping that her phone was still functional. The screen blinked open and she sighed with relief.

She trudged to the nearest diner, down the hill. When she finally arrived she slumped into a stall, trying to figure out what to do. Suddenly, she recalled something Naomi said. She remember hearing something about Alex bullying someone named Kila? Rita? All she remembered was a female name. Mi Sung pulled out her tablet. She was annoyed that she couldn't remember and began searching for different names along with Alex's to see what she could find, using the free WiFi.
