chapter 35

Sorry for the late update, am a part time writer, I update once or twice in a week but for the last two weeks I have been I'll thankfully I have recovered and looking forward to update more chapters 🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️😊

The way Brian looked at his mom as she laid unconscious on the bed made me feel sorry for him.

He just joined college and less than a month this tragic is happening right in front of his eyes. It might be everyone's dream to join such a prestigious school but for Brian it's not.at least it's how I see it.

I was looking forward to have time with him in order to know him better but this time his mom's life turned to be in a critical condition.

The first time we came here she was unconscious due to her hitting her head but now it seems like it's  going to take along time before she finally gets well.

I don't know why he didn't tell us her condition I guess its because he's not used to sharing his feelings to anyone.

Now as am  being driven to the hospital,I wonder how's feeling and that no member of his family came to see him for the last two days.

I haven't asked him about his family knowing that he is battling with himself as he has to take care of his younger brother yunus.

As Martha and I passed through the crowd I noticed that Sophia also came I wanted to wait for her but I couldn't so I passed through the crowd and went to the receptionist to ask about Brian's mom.

Little did I know Martha and Sophia got into a minor argument and they were on each other's faces.

I knew it was because they had grudge against each other after what happened last semester but we weren't here for that but for Brian. So three of us were directed to the emergency room and we  went there.

As I approached brian he came fast and hugged me tight as if his life depended on me. I couldn't help but to feel sorry for the situation he was in.

He then told us about his mom's condition and how shocked he was when the doctor broke the news to him.

I couldn't imagine how heart broken he was knowing that his mom has hidden this painful truth but I guess he was destined to find out this way.

He seemed like he was hiding his pain as he acted normal with us and I couldn't be able to tell whether he was really fine or he was pretending to be one.

After he told us what happened, the doctor came and said that his mom was drugged with a poison,thankfully he managed to remove it before it spread to her heart.

I was shocked about how he broke 5he news to us and the look on Brian's face showed how scared and confused he was about the news.

He walked in his mom's room and looked at her, he couldn't hold his tears and he broke down after that he wiped his tears and told us about a guy who came to see his mom.

He probably suspected him so I suggested he files a report about him as we were about to leave, the doctor came back with two cops.

Brian was escorted to another room where he filed a report and came back after that. As the cops left with the doctor.

He turned to us and asked if we could stay with yunus as he goes back home to change and bring clothes for yunus as well.

We agreed and he quickly left, yunus was with Sophia when he suddenly asked about Brian.

"Where's brian, am hungry?" He asked as he looked around for him.

"He went home to bring you clothes how about I take you for lunch?" Sophia asked him as she held his hand.

He nodded his head and they both walked together towards the other side.

I looked for Martha who was busy applying makeup and was holding a black cup and sunglasses on her  left hand while applying it.

"And where are you going? On a date?" I asked curiously.

"Something like that but it's just here,please don't tell on me ok?" She asked with she turned to look at me.

"Why would I tell on you? Wait a minute are you going to see him after being warned, you surely are a risk taker" i said as i gave her a thumbs up.

"How can i stay away from him, i can't just listen to her just because she is his mom would you do it if you were me?"she asked as she tight her hair in a messy bun and wore her black cap and sunglasses.

"Honestly I would if I like the person" I said as I thought of what she asked me despite knowing that mom wouldn't allow me to be with Brian.

My mom is the kind that looks at status and levels of standards and I know that Brian doesn't meet her level.

She forbade me from making friends who had a normal life knowing that none of it matters to me as long as the character is attractive.

Now that am in university I thought that things would be fun for me but I guess it's not as she happens to be part of the head of teachers and parenting counsellor.

I guess am never having the freedom of enjoying life like everyone else. My thought was interrupted by Martha's hand as she pat my knee.

"Wish me luck as I go and see my boyfriend" she said as she walked away quickly and looking around as if she was hiding from paparazzi.

Her behaviour is kinda cute and childish even though she is college, I couldn't help but to smile as she went to see her boyfriend.

Even after she was forbidden from seeing him she seemed determined to see him even from afar.

I stood up from my seat to see Brian's mom, she was using a oxygen mask to breathe, I went in and sat on the chair.

I gently held her hand and kissed it,I silently made a dual for her to get a quick recovery then put her hand inside the duvet.

I walked out and stood by the big window staring at the sky. As I was about to leave I saw Sophia standing with a guy whose face I couldn't see as his back was facing me.

As curious as I was, I wanted to see the person and also I couldn't see yunus with her so I thought of looking for him as well.

As I reached the exit of the building, I went out and saw the guy still standing as he talked to her. His figure could be tall and colour of his hair was silver and was wearing a black bandana.

I approached them quickly as I saw him walking towards her and she was walking backwards as though she was getting scared.

I quickly stood between them and the guy looked at me surprised, I looked back at Sophia who gave me the same look as him.

"Are you ok? Is he bothering you?" I asked as I turned around to look at her.

"Am fine samra, its not like he was going to attack me or something" she said as she looked at him.

"There's nothing to worry miss I wasn't going to hurt your friend it was just a little teasing and besides she was here arguing with my bike" he said as he pointed at his sport bike.

I looked at the bike he was pointing at and it turned out to be the same one that almost ran over me.

"So you're the rider, am glad to have met you did you forget that you almost ran me over if it wasn't for my friend I would have been dead" I said as I held my chest as I remember how he almost hit me.

"Are you sure that I almost ran you over and for your information am the best and I don't think I would ran you over and besides it was your fault for running towards the road ar will you blame me for that as well?" He asked as he leaned forward.

"No and besides I was in a hurry and I didn't know what was going to happen either" I said as he stared at me with his hazel blue eyes.

If I continue looking at him I might fall on my butt, I mean his eyes were so dreamy like a star and I would stare at them for eternity.

"Samra" I heard someone calling my name it was Brian looking at me confused by the way I was looking at the guy away and I was still standing between them.

The guy turned around to look at Brian and the incident made me confused as Brian looked at him and he ended up smiling and they both walked towards each other.

"Cody? Ho..what are you doing here?" Brian asked excitedly as they both gave each other a manly hug.

"Cody? I thought he said it was Alvaro?" Sophia said as I looked at her with a confused look.

"Seems like this year will be full of surprises for Brian" I told myself as I looked at him still hugging the guy whom I was either angry or something about.

Looks like I'll be in for more of surprises and mixed feelings as I looked around.
