Chapter 16

"Actually, it's more like we're trapped" Aidan supported.

Carlos glanced at them in confusion, demanding an explanation.

"What do you dudes mean we're stuck, trapped, whatever?"

Tristin drops the box of treasure, and walks about in small steady steps.

"Well, the entry gate refused to open" Tristin said.

"What gate?" Carlos asks

"The gate we passed through to get in here" Tristin replied.

"We didn't get here through any gate, or did we?"

"No, we didn't" One of the members of Carlos's team backed Carlos up.

"Okay, I'm hazed up here" Harold enters the conversation.

"If you didn't pass through the gate we used, how the hell did you get here?" Tristin inquired.

(Someone claps slowly from behind again)

"Carlos, stop it, will ya?" Harold requested.

"Guys, don't move. It's not Carlos" Tristin ordered.

Everyone stood still, glancing quickly at each other, but didn't turn around to check who it was that was behind them.

"Hey hampton kids, how is it going" a voice spoke.

The voice was calm and spoke in a casual tone. To an extent, it was also familiar.

"Whoever that is knows we're from Hampton High. It must be a person we know" Aidan whispered.

"I can hear you Aidan. Turn around kids. We have a lot of do. Actually, you're not really going to be doing anything" the voice spoke again, this time, even clearer.

Slowly, at the same time, they all turned around to see who this person was.

(Everyone gasps, seeing who it was)

Tristin rubs his eyes, to make sure he wasn't seeing things.

"Maybe it's a ghost" Aidan whispered again.

"No it's not. Mr Roberto, what are you doing here?" Tristin boldly asked.

"Yeah, you're supposed to be on patrol back at the tents" Carlos added.

"First, call me Roberto. And well, I got bored of patrolling, and decided to come check on you guys"

"Okay, you've seen us. We need to get out of here Roberto. I have a gut feeling this place is more than it seems" Tristin suggested.

(Roberto chuckles)

"You don't get it, do you? No way out folks. You're trapped. Actually, not exactly trapped, let's just say, I can let you out, but I won't. Ha ha"

(Harold faints right on Aidan's body)

Whatever this was, it was too much for these Hampton teenagers. Creepy noises, Shane trapped in a bunch of leaves, finding the treasure but not being able to head out of this spooky place, and now Mr. Roberto who was supposed to be the Camp counsellor, saying he is the one behind all these.

"You have got to be kidding me!" Carlos exclaimed, grazing his hair vigorously with his muddy hands.

"I'm not kidding you Carlos"

"How do you even know all our names?" Tristin asked.

"Do not underestimate me boy. You know what, that's it for now Hampton kids. I'm already sick of talking. Vampires, take them away!" Roberto ordered.

Everyone except Harold who was currently on the ground, almost unconscious, looked around to see who Roberto was talking to. At first, no one was around them when Roberto first ordered. Then, after what seemed like five seconds, ugly creatures appeared around them, having fangs and creepy faces.

The vampires Roberto ordered, rushed to Tristin and his team, and Carlos and his team, and gripped them tightly.

"What do we do about this one master?" A vampire asked, referring to Harold who was still on the ground.

"Just kick his ass alive. He's breathing, I can hear it"

The vampire did as Roberto said, causing Harold to jump to his feet.

"Uhh, what is happening, who are these people!?" Harold asked in pure fear.

"Where do we take them to master?" A vamp. asked.

"We would need them soon, so take them to paradise..Ha ha, have fun, gotta go back to the tents" Roberto said, before disappearing.

***(Paradise just as Roberto described)***

"What is this place?" Tristin asked in amazement.

"Yeah, it's beautiful" Aidan replied.

"Are you two in your right minds? We were dragged here by some ugly creatures, and all you blab about is how beautiful this place is? For fucks sake, stop it!" Harold yelled.

The creatures who dragged them to paradise placed them on seats that had buckles, restraining them from going anywhere.

Paradise was a hidden part of the deserted, haunted and most coveted place in Moore's Creek. It was filled with green, fresh grasses and flowers planted all over the place. The air was fresh, and had a sweet scent. It had all kinds of fruit bearing trees too.

"So...Vampires right? From the movies I've seen and books I've read, Vampires are supposed to be good looking. I mean, no offence, but you don't exactly look like vampires" Tristin was trying to get some infos from the creatures.

"Yeah, right? I also thought vampires are in human form" Carlos got the same idea Tristin had.

(The creatures snorted in anger)

"Quiet! You're not expected to talk" A vamp angrily said.

"No it's okay. We're the original vampires. Those vampires in human form are just lame excuses for a vampire. We made them." The other vampire spoke up.

"Oh cool. How did you make them. Actually, I'm more interested in what we are doing here" Tristin continued with his plan.

"Yeah, like, if we're supposed to be eaten by you creatures or something, why put us here in paradise - this nice, good-scented place?" Carlos assisted Tristin.

"Roberto would help you with that" the vamp. replied.

"Did someone mention my name?" Roberto walks in from nowhere.

"Hi Roberto. We were wondering, what exactly do you want from us Hampton kids?"

"Chill folks. Okay here's the thing. I annually throw a feast for my vampires, it's called Summer feast. It's a party where I bring about 100 or more humans for my vampires to feed on, actually, to drain off. Moore's creek is a place my vampires and I have dwelt for centuries, and every single motherfucking year, I throw them a party like this. So, I want y'all to enjoy yourselves, and eat twice as much, so you grow fat and double the enjoyment for my vampires"

"Hmm, so what are you, a vampire?" Tristin asked.

"Or a vampire babysitter?" Carlos mocks.

"I'll pretend I didn't hear that Carlos. Calling me a vampire is kind of an insult to what I really am. I'm more like a being that has the powers of a vampire, and a bit more, and ohh I'm a shapeshifter too. Mr Roberto's body is not really how I look, yeah, it's not my real form"

"Whao, you're like so cool" Tristin said, trying to make Roberto confused.

"Ha ha nice job Tristin. I'm psychic too, so I can read minds. I see you're freaking out inside of you now" Roberto caught him.

"I have one question Roberto. You said, you throw a party for your vampires, providing them about 100 or more humans. We're not even half that figure" Carlos notified.

"Yes Carlos. I can clearly see that. But you do have other students in Hampton right? Oh wait, I think they are about 300 or more students back in the tents."

"No...no!" Tristin yelled, as he understood what Mr. Roberto's plan was all about.
