Chapter 6: Diagon Alley

Little Whinging,4 Privet Drive, 30 July 1991

10 days have passed since the letters arrived at the Dursley house without stopping and it was the 10 worst days for the Dursleys who lived with the incessant fear of seeing an Owl appear, so Vernon decided to seal the mailbox and keep the windows closed.

"How peaceful, no owls, no mail, just a good coffee and a newspaper and life is wonderful" said Vernon to his wife who nodded, while Dursley was chatting in the living room, Harry and Benjamin were in their room trying to find a way to contact the sender of the letter but found nothing.

"Benjamin, no matter how much I search I can't find anything that would allow us to contact this wizarding school even if we're not sure it exists" said Harry's tired voice to his brother, "I know Harry but we have to find out how to contact them ,If we don't figure out how to do this we'll never be rid of the Dursley!" Benjamin spoke loudly, but the two were cut off from their conversation by the sound of an explosion in the Dursleys' living room.

Harry and Benjamin ran into the living room and saw the Dursleys being overwhelmed by letters and shouting everywhere. Benjamin, who saw Dudley running in all directions, couldn't help but laugh with Harry, a few minutes after the letters stopped coming out of the fireplace, Vernon roared "Pack your bags we're leaving here and this concerns you two too" said Vernon looking at Harry and Benjamin, they wanted to protest but couldn't say anything when Vernon pushed them into their room to pack their bags.

"Benjamin, how are we going to contact this school if they don't know where we are?"asked Harry, Benjamin sighed and said "I don't know but if they found us they can still do it once so don't lose courage" said Benjamin and left the Dursley house followed by Harry.

In the car, the atmosphere was tense, Petunia and Vernon were discussing that it was all Harry and Benjamin's fault, Dudley crying because he wanted to stay with his friends,and Harry and Benjamin looking out the window at the stars and thinking about how to contact the people who sent the letters.

It was almost midnight and the Dursleys' car was moving on an isolated road, Benjamin who was looking at the stars looked at his watch and saw that it was midnight so he turned to Harry and said "Happy birthday, here is your present" Benjamin got out of his coats a black box and handed it to Harry who took it and opened it.

Inside, a watch identical to Benjamin's watch could be seen, Harry turned to Benjamin and said "Thank you Benjamin, this is one of the best gifts you've ever given me but didn't it cost you too much?" Harry asked Benjamin who replied "Don't worry about that I would give anything for my little brother" said Benjamin with a smile.

As Harry was about to thanks Benjamin once again a light could be seen approaching the Dursley's car at high speed, seeing this Venron who thought it was a plane crashing, began to accelerate at high speed but because of the bad weather the car slipped and ended up hitting a pile of hay.

As the Dursley family ran out, Harry and Benjamin got out of the car and looked at the new arrival who descended from the sky on the back of a flying motorcycle and then landed gently on the ground.

The man who got off the motorcycle was more than three meters tall, he had a big black beard and was wearing a hunter's outfit, while Benjamin and Harry backed away in fear, the man began to speak "Harry! Benjamin! How much you have grown ! Harry you look so much like James but you have your mother's eyes and you Benjamin you look so much like your mother" said the man who was holding them.

"Um excuse me, but do I know you?" asked Benjamin after the man put them down on the ground after the hug, the man looked at them for a few seconds then said "Yes, excuse me, the last time we saw each other you were just baby, my name is Rubeus Hagrid and I am the Gamekeeper of Hogwarts, the greatest school of magic!" Hagrid said to Harry and Benjamin, who looked at him with surprised eyes.

"Did you say magic school? So magic really exists!?" Harry asked impatiently to Hagrid who was looking at him confusedly, "Of course magic exists and you two are surely the most famous wizards in the world and you will become powerful wizards like your parents in the future", Benjamin looked at him and said "Without wanting to offend you, but we're not wizards and our parents weren't wizards either because they died in a car accident", Hagrid looked at them confusedly and said "Who told you that?".

Harry pointed his finger at the Dursleys who were hiding behind the car and said "Our uncle told us that our parents were alcoholics and died because they drank too much" Harry said to Hagrid who looked furiously in the direction of the Dursleys and said to his loudest voice "How dare you dirty muggle to desecrate the memory of James and Lily Potter who sacrificed themselves for their child, HOW DARE YOU!".

The Dursleys flinched in fear at Hagrid's voice and took refuge in their car, seeing this Hagrid wanted to chase them but was held back by 2 arms behind who said to him "They are not worth Hagrid, but can you talk to us more of our parents?" Benjamin asked, Hagrid who calmed down after hearing Benjamin question asked "What do you want to know?"

And after that Hagrid began to explain how Lily was nice to everyone, how James was a great prankster, and how Martha was brave, the more Hagrid explained the more hours passed.That was already morning while Hagrid explained how to tame a hippogriff,so Benjamin cutting off Hagrid who was explaining to Harry what the Hippogriffs were like,and said "But tell me Hagrid, why did you come to get us?".

Hagrid looked at Benjamin for a few seconds before running towards his motorbike and saying "Kids get in behind me we have to go!" said Hagrid as he got on his flying motorbike,"But Hagrid where are we going?" asked Harry who was getting in behind Hagrid. "Yes, I would like to know too," said Benjamin, sitting behind Harry. "Don't worry, trust me, but now we have to go or we'll be late," said Hagrid, looking at his watch.

The motorcycle made a deafening noise then took off from the ground and flew through the clouds leaving behind the Dursley who were getting out of the car shocked by the events that were happening in front of them.

It was almost noon when Hagrid landed on a deserted London street with his motorbike, while Benjamin and Harry looked around as they walked Hagrid turned and said "We're here, children!", said Hgrid and stopping in front of a pub dilapidate called:

"The Leaky Cauldron".

"Hagrid, without wanting to offend you, you're sure you're in the right place because it looks a little dilapidated" said Benjamin, Hagrid laughed a little at Benjamin's statement and said "Benjamin, wizards don't want to be seen so they prefer to choose places that muggles don't frequent, come and look inside and you will see" then he walked inside the bar followed by Harry and Benjamin.

The inside of the bar was almost the same as the outside except for people staring at Harry and Benjamin and saying "That's them!" coming from a hooded man sitting on a table to their right. You're sure?" asked the man next to him, "Yes look at the taller one with a cross scar on his cheek and the smaller one with a lightning bolt scar on his forehead."

The man sitting next to the hooded man stood up to get a better look at them, then shouted loudly, "Look, it's Benjamin and Harry Potter!" after this statement everyone in the bar stopped what they were doing and looked at Harry and Benjamin, a few seconds passed and then everyone rushed towards them.

While Harry and Benjamin received handcuffs and hugs, Hagrid pushed through the crowd, took them by the waist, thanked a man named Tom and hurriedly led them behind the pub.

"Listen to me you two, some of these people are not good people so try not to stand out because it could become dangerous" Hagrid said to Harry and Benjamin who nodded.

"But Hagrid, there is something that I don't understand that we are doing behind the building. I thought we were going to buy school supplies" asked Harry.

"Yes and to buy them we have to go to Diagon Alley which is right here" Hagrid said before walking forward and then touching the wall in front of them and saying "Diagon Alley".

The bricks began to move to leave a hole showing multitudes of houses with people dressed in capes and wearing pointy hats, some people had brooms in their hands while others appeared out of nowhere in chimneys.

As Harry and Benjamin looked at everything with excitement in their eyes, Hagrid stepped forward and said "Welcome to Diagon Alley!".
