#9: Maya Wood

"Fancy seeing you here Damian," I say.

Damian frowns.

"I wasn't supposed to be in this house," he says slowly.

"I'll admit, the Sorting Hat is weird, but has never placed a kid in the wrong house!" I say.

"Shhh!!!" Remus shushes, watching the sorting.

After the Weasleys, a girl named Maya Wood sits on the stool.

She sits for a whole minute, until:

"GRIFFINDOR!"

The table gets up and cheers.

Maya Wood sits across from me.

After the table quiets, the woman from before stands up.

"I am your headmistress. You may call me Headmistress Mcgonangal. I would like to introduce a new DADA teacher, Hermione Weasley,"

The Griffindor table bursts into cheers aand applause.

Damian winces.

"They are so loud!" he complains.

Maya snorts.

"Better get used to it!" I say, grinning.

"The Forbidden Forest is forbidden to first and second years. Enjoy dinner." Headmistress announces.

Food appears on the plates in front of me.
