Harry Potter and Two Gamers

Harry's life was living hell. To him, every day was a struggle to survive, every night cold with hunger his only companion. His only relief was the soothing lullaby and long red hair he dreamed of every night. But one day, a strange letter arrived at 4 Privet Drive and everything changed, in more than one way. That day he heard an oh-so-familiar voice inside his mind. [Systems Initializing... Congratulations Harry, you are now a Gamer.] Harry Potter and Marvel Crossover! Ruincurse

Harry looked at Wanda and then at her extended hand, "What did you do to Hagrid?" He may be wary of him but it did not mean he hated Hagrid by any means. He was too likable for that.

Wanda's smile faltered, "Oh it is a simple confounding spell, nothing to worry about. He will be right back after we finish."

Harry nodded, extending his hand and shaking Wanda's, "I was hoping I will meet Ember. You know, hearing more about my parents and getting to know her."

Wanda looked a little sad, "Harry, if she could meet you, she would not have waited this long. After she learned of your parent's death, she searched everywhere for you. You were hidden behind very powerful magics Harry, even with her powers, it took her years to find you."

"But even after all that, her struggles were for naught."

"What happened?"

Wanda looked around, "Not here Harry, somewhere where no one can hear us."

She turned, leading him back towards Gringotts. Just as he neared Gringotts, the soul-wrenching pain returned but he pushed through. Wanda seemed to notice it, moving faster. As they neared Gringotts, Harry could barely walk. Wanda held him, a red glow of magic surrounding him as the duo turned into an alley adjacent to Gringotts.

Harry relaxed as the pain lessened, but let Wanda carry his rest of the way. Idly, Harry noticed the side alley they were in was mostly empty, with very few visitors. There were no shops open, streets wide but desolate. The only structure of note was the huge Mage tower, a skyscraper towering over the entire magical district.

Getting hold of himself, he verbalized his thoughts, "What in hell was that?"

"That is what happens when you go near Ember." Wanda stopped, putting down Harry on a bench. "Take deep breaths, Harry."

It took Harry a few moments to center himself, "Why?"

Harry jumped when a blue screen appeared in front of him, before looking around to make sure no one was watching him. Wanda laughed, ruffling his hairs, she explained, "No one can see the screen other than you."

Calming down, he got a good look at the screen.

"What is this Ruincurse?" Before Wanda could explain, another screen popped.

[Ruincurse Blood Wards Powerful wards based on the power of the sacrifice of blood to protect the rest of the blood. Cast using the blood of Lily Potter nee Evans and meant to protect anyone with Evans blood from even coming near individuals selected by the caster.

If the targeted individual is too powerful for the wards to overcome, the backlash occurs, causing intense pain and drain on magic.

Wards constantly drain magic and vitality until killing the protected individuals.

Alarmed, Harry read the last line again. He looked at Wanda, who just nodded sadly, knowing well in advance what he just read.

'Who cast it?'

[Cast by Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore]

Harry recognized that name. Headmaster of Hogwarts, someone Hagrid sang laurels of. He was going to a school run by one who wants to kill him.

Harry felt sick, cold dread twisted in his gut. Suddenly Ember's warning made a lot more sense.

"I do not want to go to Hogwarts."

"I...Harry, I wish it was that easy." Wanda knew where he was coming from. The feeling of hopelessness, that dread. She knew what he was feeling better than anyone else.

Suddenly she understood why it was her Ember sent to meet Harry despite so many older and wiser people who would have been willing. Heck, even Ember's other disciple was a better option than her.

But still, she sent her, not for her wisdom but her understanding. Dropping to her knees in front of Harry, she looked him in his eyes, "Harry, I can give you a hundred reasons why it would be dangerous to not go to Hogwarts. You will be considered a fugitive from Britain, you could be cursed again as long as Dumbledore has your blood, you could lose your magic, I could go on. But none of them is relevant. You will be running your entire life if you run now."

Harry wanted to say something but Wanda cut him, "Harry it is not fair, I know it is not fair, life rarely is. You could be cursed as an infant to die, you may have to live your life beaten or bruised, you may have been shaped entire life just for the sole purpose of housing elder lich gods, never once experiencing a happy childhood." Wanda broke up a little at that, "But Harry, sometimes answer to life is not running and hiding, sometimes you have to face your problems head-on. If you did not go to Hogwarts, you will be safe for a while but then what. Hiding from your problems is far worse, believe me, I know."

Harry looked shaken as Wanda spoke.

"But I do not want to die."

"Nor you will." Wanda rose from the ground, pointing at his forehead, "Your gift, it is far more powerful than you can comprehend. And you are not alone in this. There are people who will help you along the way."

"And as far as curse goes, you have years to unravel it, you will be fine."

Suddenly another quest appeared in front of him.

[Quest- Breaking the Bloodcurse

You are bound by chains made of your mother's blood and her noble sacrifice, the same chains are slowly strangling you, draining you of your magic and life.

Break Ruincurse Blood wards and find a way to prevent anyone from using blood to cast a curse on you.

Do you accept?]

Harry looked at the quest. He had a choice in this matter, he could run or he could face his problems head-on.

He read it over once again. The way he sees it, his choice is clear. He is tired of his life, tired of constantly being handed the short end of the stick.

"All I ever wanted was a little joy in life, was it too much to ask."

Wanda remained quiet for a moment, before speaking, "Sometimes you have to carve your happiness with your own two hands."

Harry did not give any sign of hearing her, focusing on floating texts only he can see, and said out loud, "I accept"

The prompt disappeared. Suddenly he felt free like he had never felt before. Wanda was smiling. Taking his hands, she pulled him on his feet.

"Now to why Ember wanted me to meet you. You have a lot to learn about the magical world."

Trying to turn the mood lighter, she began "Humm, where do I start? Yes, once upon a there was a dark tosser by name of Voldemort..."
