Harbinger of Calamity

a Neet who has worked hard his entire life, who has experienced the vicissitudes of life, living much of his life in poverty, depression and drug addiction, at the end of his difficult road, dies of cancer at the age of 26. Having suffered his entire life trying to face the cruel reality of the world, always chasing higher pursuits and exploring ideas but his pursuit of truth only leads to his own collapse. In his last days instead of weeping, he laughs, he laughs at the absurdity of it all. It seemed as if fate had played the biggest joke on him, he had taken too seriously what had no value. What is life? a blink of an eye! as unreal as a dream, what a mysterious world, we are just born out of nowhere only to vanish later on. A profound sigh was uttered "If only I wasn't dealt such bad cards! I was made for the heights yet here I am crashed in the abyss of life."  Looking at the world he was soon to leave, he sighed "Humanity truly has fallen in this era, it has crashed from the heights of embodying divinity to succumbing to their animalistic selves becoming creatures of decadence, slaves to pleasure, lust and the lowly desires of the body. Truly my heart weeps for the tragedy of humanity, the industrial revolution, a slave society disguised as 'modern society', poisonous foods filled with chemicals, an entire network engineered to enslave minds called the internet, an absolute infestation of decadence and mediocrity in the very Human spirit that used to overpower all. All humanity is enslaved, what can't parents even teach? they are slaves themselves. Atleast in this life, I refused to be a slave, I was a free being, atleast in the later half of my life, I followed my own passions and lived my own life but in the end, sigh I failed! But oh well, who ever lived a perfect life in this world? as the darkness of death engulfs him, he fully accepts it and is gone. A pair of eye opened and an absolutely stunning sight appeared, he was transmigrated. For the first time in so long, he could see clearly without glasses or contacts, he could feel physically powerful instead of a sickly body and a destroyed pleasure system. He resolves that this time, this life, He would pursue his own freedom! He would never give up on himself and he will walk his own path to the very end. "That's right, I was wrong depending on sympathy. Cold, heartless, I won't forgive them, they can't be forgiven! That's right, it wasn't me who was wrong, it was the world that was wrong!" A descent towards Madness. A cruel world where no refuge can be found, countless obstacles obstructing one's path, mountains of corpses, an abyss of blood, a heart of darkness, a cruel fate to all living beings. No heart or soul, only an abyss of despair and a heart to ascend beyond. ... Mushroom minimen (1)

Nameless entered the cave.

The cave was inside a small cliff, it was so dark and deep no light could penetrate inside, only the purple dao marks on his body offered a bit of brightness.

"Aren't there supposed to be some biolumniscent minerals or something, why is it so dark?"

"It is indeed odd but the ecosystem always goes through unpredictable changes all the time."

Nameless moved in what seemed like a cave forest with no creatures, the deeper he went, the bigger the cave became.

He moved for twenty minutes before there was finally light slightly far away.

It was a luminous lagoon that had green trees at its surface and shone with bioluminescent light, it wasn't just a body of water for it was so clear that one could see through it.

Nameless could see all sort of river plants and creatures within.

He saw blueish seaweed that illuminated the bottom of the lagoon with faint blue light.

He saw purplish kelps that seemed to house a weird alienoid fish, its flesh was so transparent that all its organs could be seen.

He knelt and used his eyesight to penetrate into the water.

There was yellowish anemore plants all over the seabed that hid what looked like purple and blue clownfishes.

There was greenish yellowish corals that housed all sorts of blue, yellow and red alienoid fishes as well countless micro-organisms and small fishes, there were beautiful red and blue betta fish, blue tang fish, angelfish, cuppy fish, kili fish even purple koi fish. The scene was a spectacular symphony of rainbow-like bioluminescent light.

Nameless took in the view before he began moving through the trees at the border of the lagoon.

"I've been wiling to ask this for a while, why bioluminescence? let alone this lagoon, it doesn't seem the forest needs it."

"Sigh, you really thought the bioluminescene is there just for show."

He thought for a bit while going past the lagoon as he spoke :

"I don't even have time to think about it anyway, explain."

"The bioluminescence is the product of complex chemical reactions with life energy with the purpose of sustaining the surrounding environment, the light doesn't just illuminate but also helps sustain life, all the creatures inside the lagoon mainly rely on the biolumniscence for photosynthesis. It is the same case with the forest, micro-organisms, insects and other small creatures mainly rely on photosynthesis for their energy, only bigger herbivores rely on plants and other nourishments."

"I see."

It was only when the conversation ended that he noticed that the minerals in the cave of the walls shone in blue light.

"Oh so there are minerals here as you sai-"

"Intruder! intruder! we have an intruder! Ahh escape! escape!!"

a small miniature voice echoed, Nameless almost didn't hear it.

He turned his sights to the ground where what looked like small aliens with mushroom cap on their head stood frozen in fear.

'What is this?'

Nameless casually picked one of them.

The creature immediately tried to escape his grasp "Ahh save me, the beast is gonna eat me! Ahh!"

"Ah no! he kidnapped him! hurry up escape or we will be next!" The small creatures immediately scattered in fear on their two feet but not before crashing into each other and making a mess.

Nameless just watched as these creatures made a fool out of themsleves, they all eventually escaped except one who had went unconscious from the crash.

Nameless casually picked him up as well.

"Oh no! he kidnapped brother!" a mushroom miniman stopped escaping. He turned as resolution flashed in his eyes, at this moment, he felt he had to be the Hero saving his tribe.

He turned and rushed! He rushed! He did not stop at all!

*Grab*

"what?"

He didn't even have time to resolve himself to die before he was grabbed by Nameless.

"Ahhhh!!"

Nameless had put the two fainted creatures he kidnapped before, he wanted a live one to ask it questions but he had just grabbed this other one before it fainted too!

'Why are they so scared, its not like I'm gonna eat them? Mmm now that I think about it, I wonder how they taste like.'

He examined the creature, it was the size of a puppy in his previous life but thinner with a human-like body, it had a mushroom cap on its head that shone in blue light. It looked cute and had two bubbly eyes, a small nose and a mouth.

These creatures also wore what looked like white pants, while they were escaping, some were pulling up their pants as they escaped.

He touched its arms moving his fingers to its hand, they had grippy fingers. He moved his hand all over its body, they were very fluffy, even more fluffy than a stuffed toy.

He examined his mushroom cap, it was bioluminescent and seemed to emit a certain energy.

"What are these?"

"They are mushroom minimen, a variant human. They can think and act like human beings."

"Oh I see."

"This is a suggestion but you should turn into a human again, the Keiya transformation is too scary for the-"

"You inhuman beast! let go of our kinsman or we will kill you!"

Nameless turned his gaze only to see an army of fifty mushroom miniman holding a stick and a shield about to charge and attack him.

Nameless simply looked at them before he laughed.

"You dare! Charge! Attack the intruder!"

Nameless simply put the mushroom miniman on the ground before he waited for the charging minimen to come.

He only knelt and used his giant hand to lightly sweep them.

Screams echoed! the entire battalion was defeated by one light sweep!

'Should I eat these?'

Another army came!

This time, flying mushroom minimen could be seen! They had white wings behind their back.

Nameless swept his hand in the air however this time none of them were defeated!

They flew from in between his arms doing impressive maneuvers.

He swept his arm another time, not a single soldier was sent flying.

'What the hell? I'm too tired for this bullshit, I only came here to escape the beasts at night, now I have to fight these bugs.'

Nameless was annoyed, he began to focus on their movement patterns.

He swept his hand the moment the minimen shifted their formation.

Ten of them were defeated and sent flying just like that.

"Ahh sasha! You beast! switch the attack formation and active the powerups, we will take him down!!"

The mushroom minimen suddenly began to glow bright blue becoming stronger and faster.

Nameless kept fighting them while he extended his sensory quills to have more awareness of his surroundings.

After their new formation and powerup, he could no longer hit them.

They also had small cutting blades which they used to slightly injure his flesh, he had small blood drops coming out at times.

Nameless got bored after a while.

So he just picked a nearby rock, crushed into small pieces and lightly threw it.

"Ahhhh!!"

Screams echoed everywhere as they most fell into the ground with small injuries.

He threw the rocks a few times before they all laid on the ground.

He aproached them.

"You monster don't come close! Ahh!" a mushroom miniman said while pointing his blade at him.

"Sigh, just stop I'm not even trying to fight you."
