The Necklace

When Emily followed her mom to her room she was nervous. She didn't know what to expect. She definitely didn't know what to do. And she felt really bad for her mom. She also thought she had the coolest mother in the world. Her mom didn't seem in the least bit freaked out about everything.

"Okay Emily your uncle made a big deal out of this necklace so I made sure to keep it close at all time. He put it in my hands before he died. It's yours so put it on let's see what happens next."

As Emily takes the necklace from her mom her hands start tingling. She was fascinated by the gem, it was part purple and blue. On top of that it looked like a dragon wrapped around an egg. She thought it was pretty.

"Here give it to me I will help you put it on. There now let's see how it looks."

As Emily turns to her mom they both believe the gem starts glowing. But it only lasts a moment. Then things are normal.

"So can you feel anything? I mean it looked like it glowed for a second but it could have hit the light just right. I don't know what to expect do you?"

"No it feels a little warm but that's about it. And I thought it glowed for a second but like you said I think it was a trick of the sunshine. So should we just wait and see what happens?"

"Yea I don't know where you mother would be coming from but I would assume it could be a long distance from here. Let's just give it some time and we will see what happens."

"Okay sounds good to me. Now let's go do breakfast. I feel like eggs and bacon. What do you think mom?"

"I think that is an excellent idea. Let's go make breakfast."
