Werewolves

"When I said that I know who you are, I meant to say that I have seen you as a wolf." Daphne let go of Kian. His eyes had grown wide with surprise. Daphne had forcefully held him by the arm to whisper in his ear. It was the only way she could get him to listen to her without trying to run away. "How are you able to change into a wolf?" Daphne whispers to Kian again. This time she didn't have to hold him. After her first statement, he froze in place. "I still remember the snowy day when I saw a wolf change into a naked man behind the cafe. I wonder if Mr Mateo knows what you are."

'Looks like I finally have him.' Daphne thought. After Kian left the changing room because Adriel needed to change, he had been running in circles around the cafe, avoiding Daphne. 'you have nowhere to run to now.' Daphne was proven wrong when Kian recovered from his shock and carried the cups he was holding to the kitchen.

Daphne couldn't follow Kian to the kitchen because Adriel was there.

When Kian came out of the kitchen, Daphne's focus was on the new customer who had walked into the cafe. The customer looks like a foreign visitor, who was visiting Rays city for a short while. Daphne could feel Kian heated gaze on her, but she ignored him. After what she had told him. Daphne was confident that he would come back to her without her forcing him.

For the first time, Daphne could feel Kian watching her. It was finally time for their role to be reversed. It was time for Kian to chase after her, Daphne was sure that he was curious, and she smiled to herself at the thought of him racking his brain about how she knew his secret.

Kian approached Daphne and tried to speak to her but she called out to Bella and pretended as though there was an important work she needed to do with Bella. Daphne was enjoying Kian attention, if she knew that doing this was going to get him to finally look at her, Daphne would have done this from the start.

Feeling as though Kian was starting to give up on his attempt to speak to her, Daphne decided to give Kian a few moments of her time. The irritation on his face made her control her urges to let out a smile.

Kian took Daphne aside, away from the eyes and ears of other workers at the cafe. "I don't know what you think you saw about me. But what you saw wasn't real, and the man you thought was me wasn't me." There was desperation in Kian voice. His desperation to hide what he was only confirms to Daphne that his secret means a lot to him. It gave Daphne the confidence that she wouldn't fail to get him.

"Is that all you want to say to me?" Daphne asked in a voice that told Kian that she didn't believe in his lies.

"Yes. I need to clear your confusion. There's no way a man can change into a wolf. Werewolves don't exist."

"Werewolf?" Daphne thought of the term to describe what Kian was. She had only heard words like that in movies, but... "Is that what you are? A werewolf?" Daphne now understood the reason why Kian didn't eat anyone the first time she observed him. Werewolves didn't eat humans. But because Daphne wasn't entirely sure, she shifted her feet to create a little distance between herself and Kian, then stopped when she remembered that Kian wasn't dangerous.

The dark look on Kian face confirmed that she was right. His face reflected the fear he had of someone finding out who he truly was.

"I don't know who you saw that made you think that it was me. Even if a creature like that truly exists. Whoever it was you saw, it wasn't me." Kian had his usual grumpy facial expressions. He was trying hard to be normal and pretend as though Daphne's words did not affect him.

Daphne held Kian's arm as he tried walking away from her. She wasn't going to let him have the last words, she wasn't going to let him make her earlier statement about him turn into foolish words, "You are free to say whatever you want, but I know that it was you, Kian Landon. Denying the truth isn't going to make me think otherwise." Daphne stared harshly at Kian, she saw him gulp down in fear, but from the looks in his eyes, he still wasn't ready to confess the truth.

Kian removed his arm from Daphne's grasp and walked away.

'I know what I saw.' Daphne thought as she watched Kian. Even if he was trying to act like he didn't care anymore, Daphne knew that his act would only be for a short time, after all, he was desperate to make her believe in his lies as much as she wanted him under her control.

"You can't lie forever Kian," Daphne said with a low voice as she passed Kian. Her words froze him for a second, before he went back to work, pretending as though Daphne didn't say anything to him.

Daphne intends to pressure the truth out of him. Now that she could sense his fear and desperation. She was going to make him admit who he was to her. Daphne felt like she and Kian had started playing another game, it was a game each of them was desperate to win. Daphne was confident that she was going to win because her secret was not the one that was out in the open. She had the upper hand over Kian, all she needed to do was to make him realize that he was completely helpless. This time her trap wasn't like the storeroom, Kian supernatural strength couldn't save him. He couldn't run away, all he could do was admit the truth and beg Daphne to keep her mouth shut. Daphne didn't have a problem with shutting her mouth as long as Kian was willing to pay the price for her silence with his life.

'this time, I have already won, Kian Landon.' Daphne thought. 'you are mine.'
