The Insidious villain (1)

The world in Lliw's vision quickly melted away and all that was left was a piercing light.

He felt a little dizzy for a split second before the scenery changed.

He was in a large open-field. He was currently the only one inside.

There was nothing particularly interesting in the field and there was only one exit so he quickly made his way towards it.

It took him no longer than half an hour to reach the exit.

There were two large guards standing dutifully at the exit.

They wore shiny medieval-style Silver armor, they looked very dauntless.

"cool…" Lliw thought admiringly.

The guards had long been used to that type of reaction and didn't pay him no mind.

Lliw looked behind him, into the field but found that there was a transparent energy layer at the gate, he guessed that it was a one-way gateway.

He looked curiously at the sight before him.

He was in an old fashioned town.

There were many buildings as well as vendors on the streets.

The people were dressed in all manner of clothing.

Lliw slowly soaked in the atmosphere. There were many different sounds that invaded his ears, many smells too.

Lliw didn't know what he was supposed to do from here.

" erm…System, where am I supposed to go now?" He asked softly, he didn't want people to think he was crazy.

[…]

The system didn't respond.

"…come in, at least give me something to work with here. I have no idea where I am or what I am supposed to do" he complained.

[…]

Still the system was unresponsive.

"sigh…fine. Guess I'm on my own" he sighed bitterly.

He turned to the Guards by the gate at the field.

" Erm…sorry to disturb your work sirs, would you mind telling me my next destination?" Lliw said somewhat cautiously to the guards.

Just when he thought they were not going to respond to him, one of them pointed to a small building not too far from them.

"Thank you" He said gratefully and proceeded to go to the building.

It was a 5 story building that was painted a deep violet in color.

It looked somewhat worn out but well-maintained.

Lliw came to the entrance of the building with relative ease since the place was quite deserted, there was practically no traffic.

He expectantly pushed open the door and entered the building.

There was a soft breeze circulating that made him feel very refreshed.

The inside was not too big, it was a mid-sized interior with a dim-blue décor.

There were a few incense sticks burning.

There was a flight of stairs and not too far away from it was a mid-sized receptionist desk.

Lliw only saw the receptionist when he paid attention to her.

She was an old woman with an ancient aura.

Her eyes were droopy and she appeared to be asleep but he wasn't so sure.

She had a head full of grey hair and wore a simple purple dress.

" Come, stop dawdling over there" she urged.

"Y-yes" he promptly hurried over to the desk.

" What do you want?" she asked rather crankily.

" Uhm, I am Lord Storm" Lliw said nervously.

" mm, what's your occupation?" She asked while writing something on a piece of paper.

" Uhm, I-I just got here so I don't have an occupation yet." He said quickly for fear of angering her.

" …alright, what is your race?" the old woman asked.

" Human" Lliw answered.

" mm. Alright you may proceed onto the second floor" The woman said without looking up from her page.

Lliw felt that the old woman was quite weird and was eager to leave so he promptly left her, as he was about to ascend the stairs, he was stopped by the old woman.

"…Young man, you must be wary of the old man in the upper floors" She said leaving him quite baffled. He was going to ask more but she shooed him away before he could do so.

He didn't understand what she meant but he kept her words in his heart, it wouldn't hurt to be careful.

He walked into the second floor and found a fat middle-aged man with a golden robe behind the counter.

In each finger, were dozens of rings and he had "rich man" aura about him.

"Hehe it's nice to finally see a guest after so long" the fat man laughed amiably…or rather obscenely.

" Little brother what can I help you with?" The fat man asked

"i…I don't know, I'm new here and I don't really know what I'm supposed to do " Lliw said bitterly.

" …hehe that's not a problem. I know just what to do" The fat man said and pulled out a sheet of paper and glanced at it briefly before he asked Lliw some questions.

" Where are you from?" The man asked.

" uhh…" Lliw struggled to find the answer to that question.

The man saw Lliw struggling and a strange glint flashed in his eyes but only briefly.

" I take it that you're one of those immortal existences?" The fat man said.

"Uh? Immortal?" Lliw was surprised by the Fat mans words.

"yeah, a group of people with the awesome power of Resurrection… the most common trait among them is that they're not from this world." The fat man said.

" I can tell by your behavior that you're one of them" The fat man continued.

" Oh is that so.." Lliw said, neither confirmed my nor denying the man's words.

" Well no need to worry, I'm not particularly fond of divulging others' secret matters." The far man yawned lazily.

" Ok let's get back to business. I can help you hide your identity or at least so that you don't get caught so easily next time." The man said smilingly.

" Oh, do I need to?" Lliw asked, puzzled.

" Hehe…Little bro, you should know that this world is not really all that peaceful, there are Dark spies everywhere, lurking in the shadows ready to disrupt the peace within our walls.

" The fat man chuckled at Lliw's naivity.

" If those guys find out who you are… You won't have it easy. You might be immortal but they can play tricks in the dark to prevent you from completing your missions. You get how important this is right?" The fat man said with a serious expression.

" En" Lliw nodded seriously.

" Alright, so from now on you are from (Purple star Village), Here is the information you'll need to know to be convincing enough." The fat man handed him a stack of papers.

Lliw took them gratefully.

" Many thanks" He said

" it's not a problem, just memorize whatever is written in there and perhaps it would be best if you visited the village… it might help you to be more convincing."

The fat man said finally.

" Ok, We're about done here. You may go" The fat man said.

"Ah yes, one more thing…" The man called out to Lliw before he ascended the stairs.

" Yes?" Lliw asked attentively

" Erm…be careful of the old man" The fat man said with a serious expression.

" I-I see." Lliw said with some gravity. This was the second time he received this warning.
