Things at Uzu finally managed to calm down to an extent, the nightmare torture ended, shinobi could finally rest in peace but they remained vigilant. A few children from the age of four to those of the Genin rank saw a noticeable improvement in ability. They could run faster, lift heavier things and their chakra increased noticeably and as they're Uzumaki this was impressive due to their already above average chakra reserves.
After the seventh night, the dreams stopped, in the dream they saw the same tree that gave off a comforting aura, the last words were they could finally tell their parents of their dreams and what they noticed happening to them, that they passed the test.
Miko Uzumaki just turned five, she had the classic Uzumaki hair but of a lighter shade than most, she was born in a purely civilian household. None of her siblings or parents were Shinobi nor was she planing on becoming one, and as the woke up on the seventh day she rushed towards to dining table where her older brother and sister were sat discussing with each other, "oniisan oneesan you won't believe what happened", she paused as she took a deep breath but was cut short by her brother. "You had a dream about a giant tree and you were training and saw that when you woke up you were feeling great", Miko was shocked as her brother rattled on, "you too! Why did't you tell me?" she shouted as her siblings laughed at her expression.
Her sister replied "remember what the tree said before we woke up?", "don't tell anyone about what happened" they chorused as Miko remembered, "that's soo cool, so it wasn't just me. Hey how strong are you?" Miko asked in a challenging tone as her excitement increased, her cute five year old frame bounced as she waited for siblings reply.
"We're not sure onaechan, we want to speak to okaasan and otosan about it" her brother replied, soon enough their parents walked into the room, "you're up early as usual, I swear these past few days you kids always wake up before us, is this going to continue" he chuckled as he ruffled Mikos hair, "otosann" her indignant shout rang as she successfully escaped from his palm. Her father laughed as his portly belly shook.
Her mother laughed as they sat down, "seeing as both of you are looking serious, it seems like you have something to tell us", Miko quickly sat down on the only available seat and put a serious face on to match the mood "you're right okaasan, for the past seven days, it seems like the three of us have been having similar dreams", this caused their parents to raise an eyebrow but they stayed quiet. "In the dream all we did was train ourselves improving our fitness and strength, whenever we woke up we would always be refreshed", Miko cut in here as she said with a barely concealed smugness "I'm stronger than most of the boys in the neighbourhood".
The serious atmosphere broke with her outburst, they all let out a chuckle at this as Miko preened at the attention, "most of the boys? Oh who's stronger than you?" her brother asked. Miko let out a pout as she thought about a figure "Aiko, but he's a year older than me so it doesn't count", her brother laughed at this while the others mouths twitched trying to hold in their laughter.
After recovering from the outburst they returned to the main topic "so these dreams have been happening for a week and you didn't tell us, why?", their father asked in a stern voice as he stared at his children individually. They remained silent thinking about how to answer, her brother finally spoke up "at first we thought it was just a dream, until we heard other kids our age mention it to each other so we thought since we aren't the only ones having the dream then the warnings must be real", taking a breath he continued, "the day after, we saw that the people who spoke about the dream said they couldn't return to the dream even though we could, also we were getting stronger in the dream and when we woke up we were stronger than when we went to sleep".
Silence prevailed as their parents took in the words, "we need to talk to the clan head about this" her father stated, "if the dreams continue, let me know", standing up he walked out of the home heading straight for the Uzukages office. Their mother stayed with the children asking them questions after questions, various parents from both the civilian and shinobi side of Uzushiogakure walked towards the Uzukages office that morning, a few genins and academy students tagged along.
They had to restrict access to the building as it was becoming overcrowded, letting out a sigh the Uzukage looked upon the parents from the top floor of the Kage tower, "Uzukage-sama we haven't found any trees that matched the description in our immediate vicinity, we've searched a radius of thirty kilometres and still expanding but nothing as of yet" came the voice of a shinobi as he waited kneeling for further instructions.
With a heavy sigh the Uzukage turned to the shinobi "call off the active search but make sure that every shinobi keeps a look out for the tree matching that description", "hai" the shinobi replied followed by the barely audible sound of displaced air.
The Uzukage focuses back on the parents knowing he will have to deal with this "such a headache and the days barely started".
From high above Paul couldn't help but chuckle at this, knowing how much trouble he's caused. A hint of humour was needed as the things he's witnessed within these few days of observation would have caused a breakdown if he was in his previous body, the atrocities that occur on a daily basis was one he had never witnessed.
"Looking away from what was shown in the anime, this world is far darker than I was expecting" his very emotions affecting the weather around him as clouds formed in his immediate vicinity. Regardless of which village one belonged to there are those whose very aura were dark beyond the norm.
The lengths they are willing to go to, all on the order of their leaders was both frightening and amazing in a twisted sense, the code of loyalty holding them strong enough to wither away the insanity of it all. Shinobi were never the most mentally adjusted.
A few times Paul had to intervene during the week, relocating those whose auras were on the purer side, those that were innocent and without blame, those too weak to defend themselves.
He was forced to use another faucet of Power Manipulation, the ability to remove a persons powers completely. Bandits and various shinobi stripped of their ability to harness chakra, the very energy removed from their gene pool. With his plethora of abilities he was able to ensure they survived the process, now the only way for their offsprings to gain the ability of chakra was if they copulated with someone with a strong enough gene pool; even then there was a 50% chance of that happening.
His actions noticed by various factions across the Elemental Nations, information travelled fast especially with shinobi losing their chakra completely with no rhyme or rhythm, a subtle fear was unleashed upon the higher ups. Word of this wasn't released to the populous but it was only a matter of time before rumours begin.
