Stuck With You

MORGAN'S P.O.V

My first instinct was to drag her toward me, and safely tuck her behind me. Once she was out of sight, the wind, or whatever it was that had started, sending her flowers away suddenly stopped. The doors, however remained closed. I could hear her whimpering in fear, as she grabbed my waist from behind, her head leaning on my back.

"I'm sorry," I muttered. It was the only thing I could think of. If I hadn't thought of bringing her here, this would never have happened.

"What's happening?" She asked, and the small break in her voice broke my heart.

"I don't know, Samantha." I turned to her, cupping her cheeks. It was weird how even in the face of danger, I wanted to stay that way, her cheeks in my hand, staring into her eyes. But the fear in those eyes snapped me back to reality. "I'll figure it out, I promise. Nothing Is happening to you."

Nothing would happen to my baby, at least not while I was here. She buried her face in my chest, and I held her back, comforting her.

"Your highness," It was Nick's voice. I felt relieved hearing from him.

"Yes, Nick. What is happening?"

"We have a problem, sir."

Nick never regarded anything as a problem. He was sharp, and strong, so much so that no matter what you brought to him, it felt like a little challenge, one he was always willing to take.

I hated to admit that hearing the slight crack in his voice broke my confidence in five. If Nick wasn't so confident, I couldn't really be too.

"Tell me," I said, preparing myself for the worst.

He cleared his throat, his voice low.

"You are the only one who is allowed out. Not her."

"How do you mean?" I tried to turn, but she held me, not willing to expose herself to the place she now found horrible. I closed in on her again, assuring her.

"Just outside before the steps, there is a latin warning."

"A latin warning?"

"Yes, Sire."

"What does it say?" I asked him. I am not able to feel fear, as vampires are fear itself, and we are craetures of everything that brings forth fear. But foe the first time in my life today, my hand trembled.

"No humans allowed in, No humans allowedout."

My breath hitched in my throat. "That Is not possible. It wasn't there when we walked in."

I could hear Nick hesitating, as if thinking of the words to use.

"It was made of bones, Sire."

I looked down at Samantha, her quiet sobs rocking her small body. I had brought her from her home, deprived her of a normal life, and now, I was putting her in danger. Danger even I didn't know how to get out of.

"Samantha?" I said and she looked up. I regretted saying her name, because the tear stained face, her already bulging eyes, those were enough to bring the king of Vampires to his knees.

"Nick." I called.

"Yes, sire?"

"Break down this building. If it involves my parents' graves, break it down too."
