Khedes reacted by sending out a dark pulse from his palm as he continued his attack against Ulrich.

Ulrich on the other hand continued to try and tell me to make him stop as he continuously dodged everything that Khedes tried to hit him with, with relative ease.

'Just what technique does Ulrich use to allow him to be so powerful. Well hopefully I'll figure that out when he finally teaches me just what the technique is.' I internalized as I continued to watch Khedes try to attack Ulrich. 'Still I have a few system notifications that I need to check so lets do that real quick.'

I shook my head as I called out my system interface as I looked at the past notifications to make sure that I would go over everything that I would need to.

I just sat there as I closed the system interface as I went back to watching Khedes attack Ulrich.

Then back to the system interface as I reread everything that the system told me just to make sure I wasn't seeing things.

I had to reread it five times which honestly I didn't need to because of my Skill: Photographic Memory, and yet I did.

"Ha… Haha… Hahaha… Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!"

I just started laughing as I fell backwards. I even called off Khedes as he gave one final swipe of his sword just barely missing Ulrichs throat.

Just when I was about to look more closely at what the system said to check, I stopped as both Khedes and Ulrich started to approach as I brought myself to a sitting position with a noticeable smile on my face.

Khedes stopped in front of me as he grabbed his bone sword with both hands, plunged it into the ground, knelt, and lowered his head in respect. He slowly stood back to his feet as he stood to my right while death staring Ulrich.

"What are you staring at, boney?" Ulrich pointed his chin towards Khedes as he turned to me. "Bastion, just what in Qhedlir is that? And who are you calling shameless, if anything I was trying to pay respect to you by burying you. You should be thanking me."

Ulrich just started to smile as he scratched his cheek as he gave the occasional glance towards Khedes who no longer staring at Ulrich but instead was scanning the area.

"First," I gestured to Khedes while smiling. "His name is Khedes and he was just doing his job. What did you think he was going to do when he saw you were going to bury me. Two, non ya business. Three, you are very shameless Ulrich. And finally it's time you teach me that technique of yours, I'm tired of waiting."

I continued to smile as the look on Ulrich's face started to harden as it looked like he was trying to see through me. I responded by smiling while never looking away from the two empty sockets that he had for eyes.

"So you finally calmed down enough so I can properly teach you my technique, good. But not right now. You need to recover and rest. Otherwise the technique would kill you as you are, regardless of reaching Rank: Soldier you'd still die." Ulrich nodded his head while he spoke in the most serious manner I had ever heard from him.

"Now, when you have enough strength to walk or shoot, crawl, get to a bed and sleep. And take Khedes with you and have him do whatever he's supposed to do. Otherwise he just looks kinda creepy just staring out like that."

Ulrich started to walk away with his hands behind his back as he let out an odd whistle.

"Khedes…" I spoke slowly as Khedes raised his hand and readied his sword. As Ulrich bolted leaving behind a trail of dust and grass.

"Well just let me sit here for a few Khedes and I'll give you a tour of the Grave Digging Manor. Trust me you'll like the place and hopefully soon I'll be able to let you have a little revenge on the bandits you were originally a part of. But until then I need to get some proper rest and learn this damn technique."

Khedes just nodded his head as he lowered his one hand before he stood guard while making sure no one bothered me as I laid back down on the ground while waiting to recover enough strength to move.

"Oh, I just got back and it looks like you did something quite interesting while I was away. And who is this, a guard, he's an interesting one I'll give you that. He's even different from the ones I'm able to command or summon. Just how did you do it?"

A familiar voice rang in my ear as a loving smile formed on my face as I noticed Shura's face inches away from mine with a curious yet loving smile on her face.

"Welcome home Shura."

"I'm back, husband." Shura said sweetly as she gave me a deep and longing kiss.
