Did Avina wait for Rayon to arrive? Of course not. She ran as quick as the wind and when her feet became tired, she pulled off her shoes and continued running again. Nothing was stopping her!
Outside was a line of carriages waiting to escort whoever came their way back home. Each coachman was tired and yawned insistently. Being forced to weather the night and wait upon guests who may or may not need a ride was exhausting.
Avina hopped into the first carriage that she saw. She patted the roof of the carriage and shouted, "Move it! We gotta move fast!"
The coachman yawned in his mouth and didn't process her words. Only when Avina yelled at him again did he click his tongue and started the carriage.
Avina leaned in the seat of the carriage and a relieved sigh escaped her lips. She could still hear Rayon's screaming, but the distance silenced it.
