Mom bitterly smiled. Her tears had long found a way to dry themselves. All that was left as evidence was the faint, hazy marks on her cheek.
"Would you believe me if I said somethings were told too late?"
A complicated expression flashed across Avina's face. She believed her, but her heart was not willing. There was a dissatisfaction brewing in her heart knowing this sort of thing could have easily been avoided but wasn't.
"If I knew what was going inside your heart, then I would have stepped out," Mom said regretfully. "Maybe something would have changed."
"I was unaware of what was happening, focused on the results, and ignored you," Mom continued. She bit her lips and looked ready to accept any reactions. "I wouldn't blame you if you hated me."
