Avina glanced at the flowers. "The flowers are beautiful today."
Ji Fanyin smiled gently. "Yes, they are."
The flower had yet to wilt since winter had not set for too long. Instead, it still held vibrancy in its petals and a deep, rich green in its leaves.
"But winter will come," Ji Fanyin muttered while stroking its petals, "And even flowers can't survive."
Those were the same words Ji Fanyin said before. At first, Avina couldn't understand them. Even now, she didn't understand Ji Fanyin's intention.
What feelings did Ji Fanyin have to say such sorrowful words? And what intentions did she carry to say these words to Avina? And how come Avina felt these words were about her?
'I would think she was cursing me to death,' Avina made a snark remark. Of course, she would know sooner or later if Ji Fanyin did have the intention to kill her once the party was over.
"Do you need to be somewhere, Empress?" Ji Fanyin asked.
