Karma regarded him with suspicion; he couldn't believe him.
(We have an alliance, and while human life does not matter to me, I would not do anything to jeopardize our alliance.)
Karma sat on his buttocks, his head between his knees, covered with his hands, and said.
"Thanx"
(My pleasure.)
Karma rose and went outside after taking some time to control his breathing. Before the sun rose, there were still a few hours, and the hangar was close to a region that was primarily covered with hills with dense forest.
Even though it was still wet on the ground from yesterday night's rain, there was a pleasant wind coming off it.
Karma moved across the center of the runway while examining his left side. The two bodies from last night were there. It wasn't a dream, despite his hopes that it would be.
He proceeded slowly toward the bodies while keeping his head down and feeling guilty about what he had done.
He knelt down and gently caressed his father's body with his right hand.
Karma touched the body and said in a sad voice while keeping his head down. "Agastha, did you know? Studies say that after some hours of death a human body becomes cold, now I know how that feels like"
His eyes started to tear up, and then more tears started to come.
He wiped away his tears and reminded himself as Karma was once more losing it. "Get a handle on it; this is not the time,"
Ava's head was still being held close to his chest by his father, who he lifted and dragged by his legs to a corner of the room. Then he went outside and performed the same action on his mother's headless body.
Card boxes and other items were used to conceal them.
(What are you doing that for?)
"I can't ask anyone for help or I'll be the first suspect, that's why ill hide them here for now and will come back tonight"
He said while covering them up. "I'll return soon"
When he stopped and looked up at the beautiful morning sky following yesterday night's rain, the disappointment in himself was consuming him.
He gazed up at the sky, and although the breeze that touched his face should have been reviving, he felt suffocated by it.
Karma cocked his head to the right and peered at the man's corpse from last night. He stated as he approached it and observed it.
"It's all because you"
Although he was enraged, it didn't appear on his face. He knelt and started patting his body.
(What are you doing?)
Karma no longer displayed any emotion on his face, not even rage or grief. He just answered with expressionless eyes.
"Trying to find anything"
His gaze caught Agastha's attention, but he remained silent. He didn't even know what to say.
When Karma looked in his jeans and couldn't find anything, he looked in his jacket's bottom pocket next. again, nothing was discovered.
Karma was about to quit after failing to get anything at all when he saw a pocket within the jacket. Further, inspection revealed a large pocket within the jacket, directly below his chest from the inside.
Fortunately, when he looked for something, his palm came into contact with something solid. He pulled out that tough object by grabbing it.
"A Diary? And, these are our passports"
Their passports were linked to that hard object as he pulled it out, along with a few other items.
"Are you gonna look inside?"
Karma stated while putting his passports and journal into his pocket. "Later, we need to go right now."
He halted mid-motion as he was about to rise because he could hear the inside of the jacket vibrating. He discovered another pocket on the left side of his jacket, just above his waist, when he turned to investigate the source of the noise.
!Buzz!! Buzz!! Buzz!
He reached inside and pulled out something heavy, which he clutched in his hand.
"A radio?"
The object that was humming was a radio. Karma hurriedly rose when the radio buzzed and pretended to be looking for someone when he did so.
Agastha said, "What happened?" upon observing him behave in that manner.
"A radio doesn't have much range of its buzzing there can be someone near here"
When he discovered himself in the clear and confident that no one else was nearby, he remarked. "Not a radio. It's a satellite phone!"
(A satellite phone? what's that?)
"A satellite phone is where one can talk to anyone in this world no matter how far they are, and you can buy private lines on it to keep your talk to yourself"
(Are you gonna answer it?)
Karma continued to pick up the radio as it continued to buzz.
!Silence~!
Karma was silent for a while, and then a voice from the phone spoke to break the lull. "Is he dead? Did you kill him?"
Karma chose to remain silent rather than respond. "...."
"Who are you?" a radio announcer inquired.
Karma didn't say anything. "...."
He had had enough and spoke quite arrogantly. "Not going to talk huh, I have no idea who you are or why you did this but one thing you should know is that you messed up big time, you came in our way which you shouldn't have but did so there will be repercussions, just you wait we will find you and kill you the worst manner you can think of"
Karma didn't give a flying 'Fuck' about it. He merely listened to the voice while continuing to spew gibberish.
After receiving no response, the voice terminated the call.
!Tut!
The call ended with him remaining silent.
He wasn't furious; the feeling was still present within him, but the disappointment he felt in himself was too much for him to bear. He wishes he could scream his lungs out but lacks the resolve to do so.
(Who could that be?)
He had a hunch but wasn't certain. "It may be the person who departed the day before or someone from above."
(So, what are you going to do now? Return home?)
Karma responded with disappointment in his eyes. "Where else, other than the fact that I need to arrange certain things"
