As the song reached a crescendo, the very air crackled with energy. Marlowe, her voice a powerful instrument, felt a surge of power course through her. The clearing shimmered, and for a fleeting moment, it seemed as if the sound itself was solidifying, taking shape around the ogre.
Boom! the sonic construct shattered, the force of the explosion flinging the ogre back several feet.
"Keughh!" The beast roared in pain and fury, its thick hide singed and smoking from the sonic assault.
However, it remained standing, its rage seemingly undimmed. Marlowe, however, wasn't done yet. Fueled by the success of her first attack, she poured all her remaining energy into a final, desperate blast.
This time, the melody transformed into a mournful wail, a song of despair and the crushing weight of loneliness.
