"Oh, you're Alex's friend, right? We met at the training grounds, wasn't it?"
Duny offered another curt nod, confirming her suspicion.
Seizing the opportunity, Alex stepped in. "Hey, Duny. We're probably heading into demon territory soon, maybe. Can you spread the word to everyone at the mansion? Tell them to prepare."
Duny's stoic facade finally shifted a fraction. His single, deep-set eye flicked towards Alex for a moment, registering the seriousness of the situation.
"I'll tell them," he rumbled, his voice surprisingly deep and powerful.
With that, he turned and lumbered away, his massive form disappearing into the bustling crowd, leaving behind a trail of fragrant bread crumbs.
Li Yunhua watched him go, then turned to Alex with a raised eyebrow. "Is he always like that?"
"Like what?"
"Quiet, answers in short bursts," she elaborated.
