"Yo, the name Karlson, y'all Geography teacher." The Vhisawi gaze was still fixated on his rectangular device as he spoke. Dark bags under his eyes… he looked as if he hadn't slept for the entire night.
"I'm a champion rank, means I have shit tons of experience under my bag." But as soon as he let down that device, we could see a laidback smile carved on his face. Wait… is he— is he high or something? That can't be right, Vhisawi isn't capable of being intoxicated.
"Iris, girl, let them have it."
As soon as he said it, all our attention was immediately directed to the young-looking mature lady standing on the east side of the overpass.
She's a peach-skinned tall and slim lady, with giant blossoms on her chest and bottom. Her hair was bun and braided, with the shade of gleaming light green. Her eyes were pink and focused, with her lips tightly shut, leaving a professional charm around.
Dame Iris wore the same shirt and suit as Sir Karlson, only that none of the visible buttons on her shirt got tied together. Her yellow miniskirt must've been dragged to her waist since I could almost see her undergarment without any effort. Her legs were wrapped in a tight light stocking, so tight, her plums struggled to breathe.
She's a really alluring Raksaka, an official mass-produced hybrid between a Sarma and Vhisawi (Jawara). By the mean, she possesses both eternal youth (from Vhisawi) and a long lifespan (from Sarma).
Behind her was a silver trolley with dozens of similar rectangular devices Sir Karlson was holding, Although his looks a lot more sophisticated. Along with them were also books that were thinner than my pinky.
She pulled that trolley around these cream-shaded tiles and began giving those books and devices to every single one of my classmates. Like Mrs. Aalisha, she also left Hada and Falisha's portion with me. I asked Chiya to save them in her personal dimension since my backpack is somewhat full of books and notes.
"What you're holding right now is called a tablet computer, or just tablet for short." Sir Karlson attract our attention as soon as we receive this unknown device. "They are like a mix of TV, telephone, messenger, computer, and that gaming box you played in the arcade."
"The Sky Scientist already able to recreate a computer from their research about the Shattered World, although they are only used in TV station, data recording, and game making." He went on.
"The one you're holding is a lot more advance than what the Sky Scientists have. They are a bigger version of a similar device called a smartphone, which is owned by everyone in the Holy System, including the late musicians."
"The God of Death made them, and they are exclusive for Guild only, so don't share them with anyone, including your family members and beloved."
"Now, I'm gonna teach you the basic way to use it, before we start with our lecture."
This thing is quite… magical. We only need to use our touch to operate it, and everything began to change and showed us what we wanted to see.
Sir Karlson also taught us about one of its features called 'application'. Among these applications, there was one named NWTracker or NWT for short, which 3 dimensionally draws the whole map of both Selebes and Kaput. Oh, even the Sky City is in it.
Praise the Sun, this thing is awesome! Hada would absolutely love this.
One of the main reasons why the Guild gave this thing to us, except for surveillance, is academic and communication.
"Y'all will have some neat assignments for tomorrow to Thursday. Go visit the capital city of Kecapi Province to find out more about it."
Tomorrow's lecture will be held on our device as if we're watching TV, Sir Karlson called it an online class. On two of the applications, we were demanded to create a group for our class.
One is for communication purposes, it's named the Crow Messenger. Here we can message individuals and groups in real-time, also called them both by audio and visual.
The other one is for learning. It's an online classroom created in what Sir Karlson called virtual space. We're going to do our class activities there while the teacher broadcasts their lecture from one of the Academy's rooms.
"The book y'all got is an instruction manual, read it if you wanted to know more about the tablet."
That concludes Sir Karlson's brief explanation about those brand new technological devices we just got. I'm sure most archstudent won't be sleeping for the night with how busy they are going to be with the tablets.
"Now let's head back to the beautiful light-made geo replica of Kaput."
Sir Karlson began to fiddle with his own device, and the light-created map began to move, zoomed in to one and only province which on a border with Kendang, the Kecapi Province.
"See how the land is orange? The Kecapi Province is made out of the desert biome, compared to Kendang that's a temperate forest." The map was filled with dunes, without the slightest trees or water.
"There are 70 oases existed in the region, however, none of them are unoccupied." All of the populated regions began to show lines of words above their spot on the map. That includes their name, population, specialty, and danger level.
"This includes 5 cities and 65 villages. Your destination is the main city of this region, the Grand City of Tano Birong." They're not joking with the title of Grand City. The place is times wider than our city and their population are higher than 26 million lives.
There are not even 50 thousand people currently living in this Spearhead Port, and that's quite massive for a Shaper-owned city!
Kadir's argument from before started to get into my head. Tano Birong is only one city, not to mention from a barren province. If the Kaoma as a whole began declaring war on us, our enemy might be close or even higher than billions! And if the Chaos Tree intervene with them, the higher grade monster would also come to obliterate our city! Blaze me! That sounded like a recipe for disaster!
"You look pale, My Prince. Are you alright?" Anna looked at me in the eyes, with worries curved her eyebrows clean.
"I'm fine, just imagining some stupid scenario."
