"Sir Mahanta, when you entered the Guild, do you get to do any of this too?" Chiya asked the Watcher with a childish curious smile.
Except for Hada and Falisha, all my team members and Sir Mahanta currently sitting in the comfort of Revian's room while he took us for a ride to the mission location.
Meanwhile, on Revian's right, Althea was riding side by side with both my ice siblings leaning against the edge of her room, listening to our conversation while being busy with their books. Or Hada at least, Falisha is just quietly napping on his shoulder.
Speaking of napping, Ah… it is indeed a calm ride. The wind blew softly, grasses swayed in rhythm, flowers danced to the beats and leaves flew joyfully from the tree where they lived.
Ha! As if! It's winter right now, everything is covered in white snow. Even the trees are leafless.
The sound of Kendang, Her Holiness Austra's heirloom, also accompanied our journey with the pounding of its melody.
"When I enter? Hmm… at my time we had a 10 days orientation if I remember correctly, it's just one of desperate measures by the Guild since their first waves suffer a lot of casualties for not knowing the basics about Taanji." Sir Mahanta closed his eyes, trying to remember his past about the occasion.
"Does that mean you don't need a college degree to become a Guild member at the time?" Hazana continued the flow, feeling quite surprised
"Well, Shaper themselves doesn't have a college, to begin with, only extension school for noble and family heir so they can later become a Magistra (8th level of elemental progression)." He answered.
"I see… so the Academy is pretty much God of Death's fantasy then, either to protect the next generation or whatever His Holiness had in His mind." I tried to conclude the questions.
"By the way, what elective courses do you guys take?" Sir Mahanta curiously asked.
All of us then proceed to answer, including Revian who took Mining and Transportation, also Althea with her Pottery and Painting.
"I see half of you picked Introduction to Sex, well if my generation ever enrolled at the Academy my wife and sisters probably would pick that too… ah, I remember how scary and exciting it is on our 8th day at this Island."
Oh, yea… on Selebes Island, the Tree of Life had our lust restrained until the day she reincarnated, which also marked the start of a new era.
But after someone stays for 7 days at the Kaput Island, Their blessing then completely perishes, and all of us who live our life on Their Island will start having our lust goes wild, unrestrained.
My experience with it is also kinda… uneasy. I've always loved Anna, but that day put my view towards her on another level, it's amazing yet also terrifying.
"Wife and sisters? What about your brothers?" I felt like I'm missing something.
"Well… I'll be honest Your Highness, most of the guys don't care about 'the art'. Sure it feels great, but we really couldn't care less about making it fancier." His face is quite scrambled as if he's trying hard not to offend me.
I'm quite shocked actually. I thought most guys would just jump into this course without a second thought. Huh… am I actually a pervert?
"Pfft…" Chiya faintly laughed at me, seeing dumbfound I was.
"Shut—" Blaze me! I could feel my face burning.
"Look at the bright side, Your Highness. You could have fun with Anna and me, and maybe a lot more other girls during the class~" This cunt giggling like a madman.
"Hm! Hm!" Anna crazily nodded. "You could start building your harem too, My Prince."
"That's a wild suggestion, Anna…"
"Hehe~"
Oh no… she got influenced by Chiya already. It was weird seeing her giggling while her mouth didn't even show any curvature.
"Harem…? Does that mean I can have a chance with His Highness too?" Hazana muttered under her breath.
"Whatever you're thinking right now, stop." Hada overheard her and quickly responded.
"Ah! No! I just…" She became instantly flustered, turning as red as the dawn sky.
"Why not, brother?" I asked him, somehow also hearing what the girl muttered. Not that I support her idea to join my potential harem. At least not with her current reason.
"Cause intertribal, even worst, interspecies mating can cause harm to her descendant," Hada explained.
"If people tried to mate with those from a different flow of element, their child will suffer or even become disabled. But physical disability can easily be cured by the Sarma, the problem is… the mental issue…" He added.
"Then what about you? The King and Mother Adeline are not tribe-related." This topic kinda piques my interest.
"I don't know why, but the effect doesn't apply to the Mainline, Blessed, or those who mate with Sarma. Even the hybrids become powerful, like me and Falisha for example."
What a brag, man…
"But for normal folks, their child will become Guardian, people who don't have any elements flowing in their body, though their physical strength is really something… but that only applied on the best-case scenario." He added while glaring at us from his seat, Falisha seems to be wakened up by our conversation.
"How come you know about this…" I confusedly asked. Cause this is not something you can learn from school. He must've researched it.
"That…" Hada looked away as if there was something he didn't want us to know.
"Hada once fell in love with a Genka girl, and he spend days and nights researching about it~" Falisha giggled, laughing at her brother's past back in Selebes Island.
"Oy Falisha—" He was clearly embarrassed about it, I had never seen his face that red in my entire life.
"Wait wait wait, does that mean I can legally and healthily marry His Highness!?" Chiya shouted out of nowhere with the tone of victory.
"Oh! I'm curious what the hybrid child would be…" Anna seems to be joining on her nonsense.
"By the Sun, you two… though I kinda wanted to know how fire and darkness would mix…"
Blaze me… I'm a hypocrite.
*!!!*
Suddenly our ride becomes unsteady, Revian must have detected something in his vicinity.
"Is something the matter, Revian?"
Like most Ambawak, the Dragon folks are also known for their ability in seeing through the plane they stepped in. If he flinched just now, then there are probably enemies in about 2-3 km from where we stand. Yea I know… that's quite far.
"The safe place to pass, I don't see any of it, Your Highness." Our room trembles as he speaks. I can hear worries in his voice.
"Taanji?" I asked.
"Hordes of them, Your Highness." He answered vigorously.
"Relax kids, just go wherever you please, I'll open the path if anything were to happen." Sir Mahanta tried to calm us down.
Even though we are now part of the Guild since we became archstudents of the Academy, our bodies are not yet blessed by the God of Death. Fighting Taanji in large quantities is like a suicide run for us.
Although as a Platinum rank, Sir Mahanta is supposedly able to fight many of those creatures on his own. Our orientation has only just begun, he won't immediately toss us onto the battlefield.
"Well if you say so, Sir… Revian, take the shortest route!" I behested.
"Understood, Your Highness."
