The destruction of Friedhof and many influential people garnered the immediate attention of the guild and officials. But the perpetrators of the incident did not come to light. In addition, the children kidnapped from within Fuhren and nearby states were all handed over to the security guards in the state anonymously.

Myu, who was from the faraway state of Coastal Erisen was currently with Alex and co. Alex had saved her but was not completely willing to take her with them as their journey was fraught with dangers. So, he decided to hand her over to the guild. The branch leader of the guild in this city was a trustworthy man who could ensure that Myu reaches her home back in Erisen safely.

That course of action was foiled as the wall in his heart crumbled facing the triple attack of Myu, Yue, and Shea. Myu was too cute. He could still hand her over without any guilt but he had just made a vow to himself to do whatever he wanted in his life with those he cared about.

One day later, they left the city of Fuhren for Horaud. The mood of their party was uplifted. Myu was just the cutest little thing that they were positively affected by just being near her. Like the halo of an angel.

An army of almost twenty thousand monsters progressed forward through the windy plains. Every step shook the ground as grass and trees were uprooted and the small helpless animals were crushed.

At the head of the army rode two dragons. One was a majestic sleek black dragon with a big body and four limbs while the other was smaller with gray scales and two legs and very small front limbs. It was closer to a wyvern than a dragon.

On their backs were two people. A human with black hair, Yukitoshi Shimizu.

And the other was a handsome demon with blonde hair, red skin, and pointed ears, Mikhael. His commander had given him the order to encircle Horaud and keep them busy for a few weeks while he headed to the labyrinth in Grand Gruen Volcano. When they launch the assault, his wife Cattleya, who had already infiltrated the Orcus labyrinth will take action against the hero party.

It was impossible to take the city in a short time because of the barrier artifact in Horaud but keeping the guards busy with a surprise attack will be easy. It was because the barrier artifact in Horaud took more time and resources to utilize than the one in the capital.

They had gone to great lengths in keeping their direction of movement cloaked. Because of that, the journey had taken them many extra days to complete.

"We're finally here."

Looking over, the outline of Horaud came into view in the distance. Mikhael took out a rare telepathy artifact from his coat and sent a message to Cattleya. Next, both Shimizu and Mikhael ordered the monsters with longest range attacks including their dragons to charge up their attacks. As soon as they came into range, they would launch their attacks.

After a while, just when the attacks were about to launch, Mikhael noticed something rapidly approaching one of the city gates.

"Just what the hell is that?"

Following his gaze, Shimizu also saw the black box of steel running on wheels. His body froze.

"Ho-Just how is that thing here?"

He was so shocked, he immediately ordered the dragon he was riding on to redirect the breath to the car.

The next moment, the massive accumulated mana was let loose. Hundreds of monster attacks were hurled towards the city with just one heading towards the harbinger of death.

"We need to make preparations. The monster army was not seen since the Ur town massacre. The news reached so late we could not even deploy scouts properly."

Loa opened his mouth. Because of the distance, they had got the news just a few days ago through the emergency artifact from Fuhren.

"Sir David, what are our chances of winning if we face the monsters with the current army in Horaud?"

David thought for a while. After escaping through a secret passage, they had travelled non-stop without rest to reach this city as soon as possible. After resting for a day, David had participated in this meeting.

He said in a sure tone.

"There is no chance we can win. Even the barrier in Haraud cannot hold on for more than a few days. There is especially a ferocious black dragon that is the most dangerous. I suggest we-"

His words were cut short when the door to the room slammed open and a sweating adventurer came in, panting for breath. He said in panic, "It's bad. Really bad. Monsters-"

A loud booming sound echoed throughout the city, as a part of the city was blown away.
