Amanda Smith listened to her voice, slightly curious she asked, "Where did the nurse who hung the IV for me yesterday go? Why did you replace her?"
The nurse wearing the mask was slightly startled, then realized what was asked and said, "She caught a cold. I'm covering her shift."
Amanda Smith nodded without suspicion and watched as the nurse drew the medication into a syringe.
The nurse had a pair of hands that seemed very nimble, with crimson nail polish that made her fair, slender fingers appear even longer and elegant.
Amanda Smith looked at her nail polish for a moment, seemed to think of something, wrinkled her brow slightly, lifted her head to look up, and then saw the magenta crystal earrings the nurse was wearing on her ears.
As if she had realized something, her expression subtly changed, and she quietly stood up from the bed and edged towards the door.
