Joy Parker lifted her swollen, red eyes and cried, "Just kill me..."
Jordan Guthrie scoffed, "Wishful thinking."
He turned away, looking out the window with an expression tinged with indifference.
Joy studied him briefly, certain that there was no possibility he would turn back to save Nina. Finally driven to despair, she couldn't help but ask, "Why did you exchange me for Nina?"
The man didn't respond; he continued to gaze out the window, his profile marked by a harsh contour.
After a journey of over an hour, the motorcade stopped in front of Jordan Guthrie's Japanese-style villa. Jordan Guthrie got out of the car and turned back to Joy Parker inside the vehicle, saying, "Get out."
His words were brief and to the point.
Joy looked outside, slowly withdrew her gaze, and got out of the car. Seeing her exit, Jordan Guthrie didn't bother with her anymore and went straight inside.
