He suddenly thought of something and looked up at his old man, "Wait... you said grandfather is deeply connected to her background? What do you mean? What sort of background does Amanda Smith have?"

Donald Johnson seemed to have realized his slip of the tongue as well. He pressed his lips together slightly, about to speak, when the sound of an engine came from outside. He looked up and then said to Samuel Johnson, "Perfect timing, your mom's back."

Mrs. Johnson stepped out of the car and saw her son and husband sitting in the living room. Facing these two, she couldn't help but feel guilty; her steps slowed, and she hesitated to approach them.
