Chapter 28: New Home

Lucky's POV:

Since Angel told me about her being pregnant, I've been over the moon. This time, I wanted to make sure she keeps this one. As a result, I told her we were gonna leave. Now. We was moving into a house I bought for us. It had surveillance cameras inside so I can keep an eye on her. She was hesitant at first, but she agreed. I looked over at Angel, who was silent the whole time. "You okay?" I asked. She didn't answer. "Angel?" I called. She still didn't answer. "Angel!?" I called. She jumped. "Jesus Christ Lucky. Don't do that." She said, irritably. "What? I called your name." I said, smiling. She sighed. "Angel, you okay?" I asked. "I'm fine." She said. I made a noise. "Baby, I'm fine. I'm just curious as to what the house looks like since you don't wanna show me." She said. I laughed.

"All in good time Angel. All in good time." I said, smiling. I thought about it. Time. Elizabeth has been a no show for a few of weeks now and I'm actually worried. I told Kacey to keep an eye on anything suspicious. Too bad Angel couldn't do it. When a magical being is pregnant, their senses aren't very sharp like they normally are. Their powers aren't exactly there right now. It's because the female body is going into overdrive to keep the baby healthy. So I've been relying on Kacey to keep an eye on Angel while I handle Elizabeth. Since Angel was pregnant, me and everyone else made a decision. At least two of us is to be around Angel unless I'm there. I didn't Elizabeth or her uncle Goreman to make any sudden appearances. "Lucky!" Angel whined. "What?" I asked. "Where's this house baby? I gotta pee." She said. I pulled up to it.

She gasped. "There it is." I said. "Oh my gosh. It's so beautiful." She said. I parked and she ran out. She ran up to her door. I ran after her. I used the key to open the door. She gasped and squealed. "Oh my God Lucky!! This is incredible." She said, looking around. I smiled and watched as she ran throughout the house. I heard her giggles and squeals downstairs. I looked around. What's the matter? I hope this isn't too nice. Angel isn't exactly thrilled on the idea of something if it's too luxurious. Dude. Look at her. She's happy. I looked up to see Angel bouncing on a couch. She looked back at me and grinned. She ran up and jumped on me. She kissed softly.

"Thanks so much Lucky." She said. She pulled me towards the stairs. "Come on!! I wanna show you something." She said. I followed her up the stairs and to a room. "I like this room more." She said. I made a noise. "What?" She asked. I grabbed her hand and pulled her to another room. "I like this one more." I said. She looked around and frowned at me. "This looks just like my old room back at the house." I said. "I know. I don't want you to feel homesick." I said. She stared at me. "I am a little bit but I'll get over it." She said, as she turned around. I followed her back into the other room. She plopped down on the bed. "You don't like it?" I asked, worriedly. "Lucky this is nice and all....but are you sure we're ready to live together?" She asked.

I felt a little hurt. She must've noticed. "I mean don't get me wrong. I love you a lot. And I do wanna be with you. But this and the baby....you don't think it's a little too soon?" She asked. I thought about it. "Maybe I kinda jumped the gun. I'm just so excited." I said, leaning against the wall. "And that's okay." She said. I looked around. "So I should give the house back?" I asked. "You already bought it?" She asked. I nodded. "Yeah. Didn't you know?" I asked. She shook her head. "I thought this was like one of thingies where you pop in and check the house out?" She asked. I shook my head. "Nope. I already did that. That's how I got it." I said. "Oh. I just thought maybe we were too early for the real estate agent." She said.

"Yeah. I guess I'll just tell them to take the house back." I said, walking out the door. I was nearly down the stairs before I heard crying. I went back upstairs and seen Angel crying. I walked up to her. "What's wrong?" I asked. "I fell bad now." She said. "Why?" I asked, curiously. "Cause you went through all this trouble for us and here I am acting like a bitch." She said. I stared at her. Fuck is wrong with her? She was just fine a minute ago. Her pregnancy hormones dude. Their messing with her. Oh my God. Get used to it. Pregnancy hormones never stop. This is gonna be a long six months. I calmed Angel down and we waited for Marcus and Keisha to show up.

They decided they were staying temporarily until Marcus found them a new home. He was actually the one who found this house. I just decided to get it. Truth is I didn't want Marcus to Keisha to leave. He was my best friend. And Keisha was fun energy, even though she scares me. It was about a month and a half before they moved out. Angel was so heartbroken that they were leaving. Her and Keisha cried a lot. Me and Marcus didn't want the do so we just stared at them. Me and Angel lived in the house for the rest of her pregnancy. We had our baby shower. We had our maternity shoot. We had a wedding. Best day of my life. Then it came down to the gender of the baby. We put off on that since we had a lot to do.

I've been a nervous wreck since I didn't see much of Elizabeth. And that really worried me. I seen her maybe two or three times before we moved into the house but that was it. She went incognito mode. It was like she was gone. So on the way to the hospital for Angel's regular checkup, I've been scanning for any sign of Elizabeth. We walked inside and headed for our room. Doctors and nurse came in and out of the room before the doctor finally said something. "So do you wanna know?" He asked. Me and Angel answered at the same time. "Yes." "No." We looked at each other. "I wanna be surprised." She said. "What do you mean 'no?' I wanna know." I said. She got really close. "And the person carrying the baby wants to be surprised." She said, in a sharp tone. "We're gonna be surprised." I said, smiling at the doctor.

Angel was scary when she's pissed. She turns into Keisha. I guess craziness runs in the family. On the ride home, I was irritated. Angel must've noticed cause she held my hand. "Lucky what's wrong?" She asked, curiously. "You. Angel why do you wanna be surprised about our baby's gender?" I asked, curiously. "Cause. I feel like it'll be a better experience for us. We're both surprised at what it's gonna be. Like why does it matter? Either way your gonna happy." She said. I didn't say anything. I just shook my head. "Oh so you don't wanna be happy Lucky?" She asked, angrily. "Of course I'm gonna be happy Angel." I said. "Doesn't sound like it." She muttered. "Say what?" I asked, loudly. She repeated her sentence. "God Angel why are you acting like this?" I asked, irritably.

"Because your not happy about this Lucky." She said. "Well how do you want me to feel? I am happy. I'm just not happy about the fact you won't let me know the gender of our baby." I said. "Oh my God. So you don't wanna be surprised?" She asked, nonchalantly. "No. I wanna know." I said. We pulled up and she got out. "Fine. Take yo ass back to the hospital and ask them what the gender is." She growled and walked into the house. I closed my eyes and sighed. Dude. Chill. No. I hate it when we argue. I love her to death but I just really wanna know if we're having a boy to girl. Lucky, your stressing her out. And it's not good for the baby. I just wanna know the gender!! And if you keep pushing her, your hurt her. Do you wanna be responsible for hurting an unborn life?

Of course not. Then stop stressing her out over this. Just be happy. Be surprised. Like she said, either way your gonna love the child. I sighed and got out the car. I walked in the house and looked around for Angel. I found her in the backyard, staring at the pool. "Angel!" I called. She didn't answer. I knew she was mad. I walked up to her and sat down in front of her. She had tears stream down her face. I wiped them away. She began to cry. I held her. "I'm sorry Lucky." She said. ""It's okay baby." I said. "I just wanna be surprised. I thought it could be fun. I didn't mean to make you mad." She said. "Shhh Angel. I wanna be surprised. Your right. It could be fun, cause either way, I'm gonna be happy." I said.

I pulled her into my lap and held her. I didn't like it when we fight. I helped her up and took her back inside. We walked to the living room and sat down. I went to the kitchen to grab my phone. I ordered pizza while she watched TV. When it came, it was delivered by a girl. She flirted with me. It pissed Angel off. She kissed me and rubbed her stomach. Angel smirked at the girl and slammed the door in her face. I laughed. "You so petty." I said, laughing. She shrugged. We ate the pizza while watching Bad Girls Club. I guess it was her favorite show. Marcus and Keisha came over. They ate pizza with us. "So turns out Alma is having twins." Marcus said. Sheesh. Can't imagine that." Angel said.

"Right. Like girl, that's two headaches to deal with." Keisha said. "Lots of diapers. Lots of crying." Marcus said. I didn't say anything about the subject. My mind was on Elizabeth. The fact that I haven't seen her in awhile really worried me." Lucky?!" Marcus called. "What?" I asked, not looking at him. "What's up man?" He asked. "Uh nothing. Come on. I have to show you something." I said, pulling him outside. We went to the backyard. "What you wanna show me?" He asked, curiously. "Nothing. But I'm worried." I said. "What about?" He asked. "Elizabeth." I s-aid. He scoffed. "Fuck is you doing worrying about her ass?" He asked. "Don't you think it's strange that she hasn't been around in months?" I asked.

"Now that you mention it, it is a little weird. She usually pops in a few times a week." He said. I nodded. "Exactly. But that fact that she's been absent really worries me." I said. "What, you think she's planning something?" He asked. "Gotta be. Why else would she be gone this long?" I asked. "Have you told Angel?" He asked. I shook my head. "Nah. That's why I brought you out here. I don't wanna stress her out about this. We got into an argument earlier and I ready don't wanna start another one." I said. "What y'all argue about?" He asked. "Well the doctor asked if we wanted to know the gender of the baby. I said yes while Angel said no. She said she wants to be surprised." I said.

He scoffed. "I would've said yes, regardless of her answer." He said. "So if Keisha was pregnant and I mean really pregnant and she said no she didn't wanna know the gender, you would stress her out by arguing with her because she said no?" I asked. "Uh yeah. I'm the man." He said. "So you'd rather hurt your unborn child because of your say?" He grew silent. "You know what? I change my answer. I don't want to know." He said. "Exactly." I said. We talked for a few more before Keisha called us in. She said Angel was throwing up a lot. She lost a lot of fluids so I ordered more pizza with drinks.

It was a different delivery person this time. He was a mean person. He barely gave me time to give him money before he nearly dropped my pizza. Marcus caught it in time. So I was being petty and decided to drop some of the change I owed. I closed the door in his face and walked away. Keisha was laughing while Angel wasn't. "Lucky you so petty." Keisha said. "That wasn't nice." Angel said. Keisha frowned at her. "Girl shut up. Come with me to the bathroom. I gotta talk to you." She said. They got up and left upstairs. I looked at Marcus. He shrugged. It was about half and hour before they came back down. Angel missed a step and my heart dropped. She caught herself though. She may not have have her powers right now but her reflexes were lightning quick.

She made her way over to me. I laid my head down on her stomach. I could hear our child's heartbeat. It made me smile and happy. Then I felt a kick against my ear. I looked up at Angel, who was watching TB. She looked at me. "What?" She asked. "I feel kicks." I said. "Oooh. I wanna feel." Keisha said. We all felt the kicks. Angel got irritated with us and went upstairs to our room. It was about ten minutes before Marcus and Keisha left. I went upstairs to see Angel. She had her back to me. She on the phone. "Well that's not a good color for her." She said. There was a pause. "Kacey don't put that dress on her. It's an ugly color." She said. "Hey Kacey!!" I shouted. Angel turned around and glared at me.

I laughed and laid down beside her. "Kacey he's annoying is what he is." She said. I stared at her. "Who side you on?" She asked. "Bye traitor." She said. Then she hung up. She laid on her side away from me. I pulled her into my arms. "Yo stop acting like that. I said. She didn't answer. "Angel what I do?" I asked. "Y'all was petting me like a dog." She said. I laughed. She punched me in my arm. "I'm sorry. It's just....the baby was kicking Angel. Of course we're gonna wanna feel." I said. She turned around. "If I was a girl, I wouldn't make a big deal about this." I said. She folded her arms. I smiled. "Your so cute when your mad." I said. She glared at me. I kissed her and hugged her. She tried to push me off but I didn't move. I didn't want to.

"Oh my babygirl is mad at me." I said. She rolled her eyes. I kissed her neck over and her again. She tried to fight her laughter but couldn't. She giggled. I tickled her and she was just laughing. She kissed me and laid against me. We watched TV til we fell asleep. I woke up to her missing. I looked around. I called out to her but got no answer. I called her again and still got no answer. Then Elizabeth flooded my mind. I freaked out and ran out the room looking for her. "Angel?!" I called. No answer. "Angel?!" I cried. I ran past the backdoor and saw her. She was sitting by the pool. I called out to her. she slowly turned around and smiled at me. Something was definitely wrong. Her stomach was small. "Angel where's the baby?" I asked.

She just smiled. "Lucky?" Called a voice. I looked around but didn't see anyone. I looked back at Angel. She was now Elizabeth. She held out something. Whatever it was, it was wrapped up in a towel. I didn't trust it. Then it started crying. I unwrapped it to see a baby. It was covered in blood and cuts. "Oh my God." I said. I felt sick to my stomach. Then Angel appeared. She was crying. Elizabeth walked away to her. She pulled out a knife and stabbed the baby and Angel. "NOOOO!!!" I cried. "Lucky wake up!" Angel yelled. I opened my eyes to see Angel staring at me. I looked down at the stomach. Our baby was still there.

I hugged her. "Lucky what's up with you?" She asked, curiously. "I had a nightmare." I said. "I see that. I woke up to you screaming. Look at you. Your all sweaty." She said. I looked down and I was sweating. "What was your dream about?" She asked. "I rather not say." I said. I went over to the dressers and got a different shirt. "Lucky you'll feel better if you told me what it was about." She said. I looked at her. She smiled at me. I went back over to her and sat down. I held her close to me as I spoke. "I had a dream I woke up to you gone. Turns out you were outside and the baby was gone. Elizabeth appeared and held the baby who was covered in cuts and blood. Then she killed it and you." I said. I looked at her. She had her back to me.

"Lucky that's not ever gonna happen. I would die before Elizabeth killed my baby. She would never even get close to me." She said. I held her tightly. "I hope not." I said. "Baby it was just a dream. It's not real. I'm still here and so is our baby." She said. Then she paused. She turned around. "If I do die, please take care of our baby." She said. I nodded. "I will Angel." I said. I thought about it. "But your not gonna die." I said. "We all gotta die one day Lucky. There's no avoiding death. It's wrong to do that. Cheating death is not something to do. Cause it's gonna come back in the worst way." She said. "Angel I think you need to stop watching Final Destination with Aaliyah." I said. She laughed. "I'm serious Lucky." She said. "Angel your not gonna for anytime soon so stop talking about death. Please." I said. She stared at me before nodding. I hope she doesn't die.
