Chapter 8: Goodbye

After lunch we will have training for the intrams next week. I've been playing volleyball in this school for almost 4 years since I was a freshman. Kuya Gael also messaged me that he would go to our building later because he said he would give me something.

"Rei, do you have lessons at your music club?" Kyla told me as soon as she approached me. I frowned because nothing was mentioned in our group chat and no one told me, Laine used to chat with me when we had lessons or meetings but she still doesn't pay attention to me until now.

I took my phone out of my pocket and dialed Shane's number.

She answered it immediately. "Why are you calling?" She answered the call.

"Do we have lessons?" I asked her.

"Yes, all of a sudden, that's why I didn't say anything in the group chat earlier. There are juniors who will also be auditioning as batch two." She answered me.

"I'm trying to catch up, ah? We have training in volleyball."

"It's okay, take your time." I dropped the call and grabbed my bag to go down and eat at the cafeteria, I still have to go to Yana and Iza at the library because we will eat together.

When I got to the library I immediately looked for them both.

"Rei!" I stared at wherever that voice of yours came from. Yana is the one waving at me now.

"Shhhh." The librarian scolded us.

I laughed a little and approached them.

"Aren't you done yet? I'm starving." I'm complaining.

"We're done, we're just waiting for you, maybe later you'll come here and then we'll go to the cafeteria first." Promise of Iza.

As we walked towards the cafeteria Iza and I were still teasing Yana. "What? Did you talk late night with Laine's sister?" I teased her.

"You know you stopped! I'm sick of your mouth." She scolded me before she left my side and moved next to Iza.

I followed her and stood beside her again, "Girl, this is your chance, you haven't had a girlfriend since birth. You don't want a man. Go!"

"One more time with me, I'm going to put my palm on your face!" She was really annoyed so I stopped her until we got to the cafeteria.

"Maybe later Laine will be here again and then Rico will leave us." Iza is mad at me.

"Leave her alone, I'll ship them." Yana giggled at me while still smiling.

We looked for a table and sat there, there weren't too many people here today because we engineering students had lunch earlier than other courses.

"Rei, where were you last night?" Iza yelled at me while we were eating.

"Uh, I'm in the condo." My sparing answer, Kyla arrived just in time and she stood beside me.

I thought the two of them would finish interviewing me but they haven't.

"Shaira was looking for me Laine the night Kuya Gael called Iza because you didn't come home to her house." Yana added.

I spit out the water I was drinking and that's where their foreheads frowned. "Are you okay? We're just asking you but why are you blushing?" Iza's exclamation.

"D-Don't s-say .." Yana would have added but I cut it off right away.

"Laine and I were together then but I also bring her home right away." I gasped as the three of them still stared at me.

They stopped what they were eating and continued to eat anyway questioning me.

"Where have you been?" Yana asked.

"At Con— I cut it because I can't tell them what happened, I don't want Laine and I to be awkward especially because of them," At the convenience store. "

"Can you just hang out at the convenience store for a few hours?" Iza yelled at me while drinking water.

"Why are you asking so many questions? Just hurry up and eat because we still have training." I said again.

"Okay, you might have exploded because of butterflies." Yana is still laughing.

I just smiled and continued eating.

The training we did today was so tiring, Coach was not in the mood so he piled it on us. We even worked overtime so I don't know if I will be able to catch up with our lessons at the music club.

My phone rang so I answered it. "Where are you? I'm in your room now but you're not here." Kuya Gael asked when I answered his call.

"We just finished our training, do you know the faculty of the music club? Let's just meet there." I promised.

I put my phone in my pocket when Kuya Gael dropped the call.

"I have to go to the music club where Kuya is, come with me?" I'm with Iza.

She nodded and we went there.

Laine's Point of View

Look at that asshole, she didn't go to our lessons today. Is she avoiding me? This organization should not be involved in what is happening between the two of us. I will punish her!

"Where are those new seniors? Why they didn't attend?" I asked Shane aggressively.

"Mhmp, are you looking for Rei? They have training." She replied.

I acted lightly and I replied, "H-Hey! I'm not looking for her!" I shouted.

Jax hurried into the faculty room and went straight to us while his cheek was red. When he got close to us I laughed even more in his face because I could see there as if he was trembling.

"There's a shawty outside!" She shouted to us.

Shane and I looked at each other before leaving the faculty room, when we got out there was a tall man in front of our faculty room. He was tall, white, and looked like someone familiar to me.

"Do you need anything?" Shane asked him.

He combed her hair with his hand before speaking and he even bit his lip.

"I'm just waiting for someone here." His voice is very handsome, it's so melting to listen to as if his voice is just waking up.

"I guess you're waiting for me hehehe." Jax pretends. He smiled and didn't say a word.

"Who are you waiting for? Maybe we know who he or she is!" Shane offered him.

He snorted, "Hmm, do you know Rei Rico?" Our eyes widened and the three of us looked at each other.

What will he do to Rei? How is he with Rei? It's impossible for her boyfriend because I know she's not that attracted to men.

"We know him." I gasped.

Rei's Point of View

When we got to the floor where the faculty room of the music club was, Kuya Gael was already there. Is he talking to Laine? Shane and Jax.

Iza and I approached and I stared at Laine.

"There she is." Kuya turned to me and looked at me as he smirked.

"They know you, Rei?" He asked me.

I nodded, "Mhmm, they're officers at our club." These three are in front of us now and look so bad at us, I know the three of them think differently because I see you and it's noticeable.

I turned to Kuya and called him, "Kuya."

The eyes of the three of them widened and it seemed like they couldn't believe what I said.

"H-He's your older brother?" Jax asked me while Kuya and I were still pointing.

"No, maybe your older brother." I joked.

Jax stared at me and smiled at Kuya. "If you're our friend's brother, can I know your name?" He turned to Kuya Gael with puppy eyes.

Friend? When else have you been friends?

"I'm Jasper Gael Rico from College of Architecture." Kuya formally introduces them before extending his hand to Jax. Jax reached for it and shook hands as well, he didn't want to let go of it so I cut it off with my hand.

"Come on Brother, maybe something else will happen to you here." Let me hear from Jax.

"See you next time!" Jax growled as we got away from them. Kuya Gael is still straight so I'm sure he won't hit that Jax, obviously he wants Kuya. That's Jax. I didn't expect him to be like that, huh? I thought he really wanted Laine after me too?

"Those friends of yours are funny, Rei." Kuya was still laughing.

"Tsk, what are you going to give me?" I'm mad at him.

He handed me his passport. My knee weakened and that's when he asked, "What does that mean?"

He turned to me and brought his face closer. "I'm leaving next week, Mom and Dad said you also need to follow next month."

I don't know what I'm going to react to because it's too sudden?

"I handed it to you here because I know you won't come home to me again." He added.

I turned to Iza and even she was surprised too.

"B-But the semester isn't over yet ah?" I would argue.

"It seems like Mom and Dad can transfer us to the States?" He smiled.

I don't want to leave here, I don't want to get away from my friends especially Laine.

"Why all of a sudden?" I added more.

"Let's talk later at your condo, I'll go see you." He patted my shoulder and walked away from Iza and me.

Iza's face shows sadness and even I feel sad. I don't have any friends in the States, I'm sure I'll just be bored there.

"How's that? You're leaving us?" She said to me then I hugged her.
