Not the end
A zombie with a cracked skull was slowly making its way to Eden.
The zombie emitted a faint white glow which somehow made it so that no one could feel its presence. It slowly crawled towards Eden while the others were busy chatting.
Eden was silently sobbing, she was overwhelmed with everything going on. She couldn't believe that the situation was real. How could zombies exist and what is this 'system' that everyone is talking about? What about her parents and her sister were they ok? Did the zombies get to them too!? How could the others casually chat at a time like this are they not worried for their families? Why aren't they trying to go home? What if the zombies have already gotten to their families? Did everyone manage to escape or...?
"They are ignoring me, don't they even care about me?" Eden mumbled.
She lifted her head out of her lap.
"!!!"
She was met face-to-face with a zombie who had green skin and a cracked skull. Black blood was oozing from the side of its head.
Eden opened her mouth to scream, but no sound came out. She silently stared into the face of death.
She instinctively closed her eyes and her mind went blank, as she felt a burning sensation on her neck.
'Why aren't the others helping?' she thought as her life flashed before her eyes.

'What is this weird feeling? Why do I sense a sudden feeling of impending doom?'
"What's wrong Alyssa?" Valarie asked in a worried tone.
Alyssa closed her eyes and furrowed her brows.
"It feels like something bad is going to happen but I don't know what."
She closed her eyes and focus, trying to sense what was causing her to feel this way.

The system notification popped up.
"!!!"
Alyssa opened her eyes and they started glowing bright purple.
"VALARIE MOVE!" she ordered as she stood up from her chair.
"What?" Valarie was confused.
"GROWL!"
"!!!"
Everyone heard growling coming from underneath the table where Eden was.
"What is happening!?" Xander exclaimed.
Valarie suddenly felt a hand grabbing her leg.
"AHH, WHAT IS THIS!? LET GO!"
Eden bit Valarie's leg.
"..."
Alyssa stared in shock, "E-Eden?"
Eden crawled out from underneath the table.
'How did Eden become a zombie!?' Alyssa took a step back.
"Get off me!!!" Xander shouted.
"XANDER!" Alyssa cried.
The zombie with a cracked skull had latched onto Xander's leg and started biting him.
"Ugh! Let go you ugly monster!" Xander pierced its skull with his knife.
The zombie fell and stopped moving.
"I-it bit you!?" Alyssa cried out.
"What?"
"..."
Xander's left leg had a huge gash surrounded by teeth marks.
Xander started in shock at his leg which was oozing blood. He was unable to register the events that had just occurred.
"SNARL!"
Alyssa turned to look at Valarie.
Chunks of her hair had fallen out and her skin had turned green. She lifelessly started at Alyssa with her wide open bloodshot eyes.
Alyssa covered her mouth with her hand and her eyes widened, and tears fell down her cheek.
"No..."
She turned to look at Xander.
He wasn't looking any better than Valarie and stared at Alyssa with bloodshot eyes, the wound on his leg was still oozing blood and he acted like he didn't notice.
Alyssa glanced at Eden she looked exactly like Valarie and Xander.
Alyssa looked around.
All the zombies who she thought they had defeated suddenly rose.
"No, no no no..."
Alyssa took some steps back.
"GROWL!"
"SNARL!"
"S-stay away..."
She looked into the eyes of her once best friend and brother. She turned around and started running away as fast as she could.

Alyssa was once again running extremely fast as the system increased her speed.
She ran out the canteen door and started sprinting in a random direction.
"GROWL!"
"SNARL!"
"SHRIEK!"
More and more zombies started chasing after her.
"What is going on!?" Alyssa came to a halt.
Tens of zombies surrounded her and there was nowhere for her to go.
"This can't be happening," Alyssa fell to her knees.

"I can't just go down without a fight," Alyssa stood up.
"GROWL!" the zombies ran towards her from all sides.
She kneeled the zombie in front of her and elbowed the one behind her, and pushed them away. She suddenly ducked, which made the two other zombies bump into each other.
Xander, Valarie, and Eden were also attacking her.
More and more zombies joined the bunch and it became harder and harder for her to fend them off and avoid getting bitten at the same time. After hours of fighting Alyssa had gotten exhausted. She looked to her right and saw a group of 50 zombies come out from the school, all of them making their way towards her.
Her chances of survival had descended to a negative value.
"There is no way I'm fighting 80-something zombies," she muttered.
Alyssa looked around and tried to find a way to escape.

'I'm exhausted, there is no way I can fight my way through.'
Alyssa turned and started running.
'I am much faster than the zombies, so I can try to outrun them but...'
"GROWL!"
"SNARL!"
"HISS!"
The zombies continued to chase Alyssa.
'There is nowhere to go... The gate is locked so I can't go outside and the school building is probably filled with zombies...' she slowed down,
'and I am so tired that I can't keep running.'
She fell to her knees and started panting.
'Valarie, Xander, and Eden are all gone too...'
She heard the zombies catching up.
'So this... is the end?'
Tens of zombies all jumped on Alyssa.
'This is how it all ends?'
The zombies started biting her, her body was covered in wounds and the grass underneath turned bright red.
Alyssa felt like every part of her was being torn into shreds.
'This can't be how everything ends.'
Her vision started to blur.
"I don't want everything to end."
She stretched her hand out.
"This won't be how my life ends..."
Alyssa's body went limp.
"THIS IS NOT THE END!"
Her vision darkened and her consciousness slipped away.
