Chapter 10

"Arrrghhh" Luna yelled as she felt herself falling down the mountain, oh no what is she going to do? wait for her death? that is definitely impossible because she still had to live, to live to marry Evans and to give him children. That was the only thing she wished for in this life now this stupid stranger was going to ruin it. She closed her eyes as she braced herself for what was going to happen next, seconds later she opened her eyes and Fear gripped her when she saw how near she was to the ground, she was definitely going to die or break her bones. She hadn't predicted what that man wanted from her, if she had known, she would have gone back to the castle after the mountain stopped shaking.

"So helpless" Lucas muttered under his breath as he watched her falling, he would never wish to be human in his entire life, what was so good about that specie anyway. They were so weak, fragile, they have limited number of years to live and they were so helpless whenever they fall sick, so pathetic.

He wanted to leave her to fall but on a second thought, this woman was still going to be his and he doesn't want a leper. He snapped his fingers together and he vanished from the mountain and appeared on the ground few seconds before she fell, he stretched out his arms so she could fall safely in it. Luna gasped hardly as she fell into the arms of the stranger, it took her few minutes for her to recover from the fall.

The first thing she did after recollecting herself was to give him a slap. Lucas's face shifted to the left due to the impact and his mask fell from his face.

"How dare you?! did you realize that you attempted murder and can be killed for it! wait till I tell my father and you'll surely have your head served to you on a platter of gold" She said angrily, who the hell sent him to her? At first he shook the mountain leaving her standing on it unbalanced now he pushed her down.

Lucas twisted his face in displeasure, what she did to him no one had ever dared to do it to him, no one, he hadn't even been injured by anyone whenever he went for war, his parents never did this to him before they died now it was just a mere woman, a human?. Why hasn't he unleashed his beastly mode at her, it looks like he was holding himself back from lashing at her. Just why the hell was he stopping himself from hurting her.

"I... I am sorry I didn't mean to, you forced me to, I've never hurt any-" she couldn't complete her statement because the person had vanished from her sight, she didn't even see his face because while the other mask fell, he still had another covering his face but she could see the imprint of her hand on the mask.

Luna stared at the ground where the person disappeared from, she wondered what she did to encounter all these things today, first it was her father who made her angry and them she had left the castle to find peace here but this person attempted to kill her and now he left without even apologizing.

"I'm sorry whoever you might be, but it's your fault anyways, you can't even apologize" she said to herself as she left for the castle.

Hours earlier

Lucas and his general Yan were riding towards Sleasea because Lucas had some business there but stopped midway because Lucas saw something.

His red eyes darted across the mountains and he saw a woman with silver hair braided into two and held with golden hairpin, she was wearing a pink strapless gown and was in the company of someone and by the looks of it, it was as if they were lovers, spending quality time together. Lucas's brows furrowed in distaste as he stared at the man who was holding Luna. He knew she was the Luna Magnus was talking about because if the silver hair and she had a royal aura.

"Your majesty are we not go-?" Yan was cut short because Lucas raised his hand in the air, indicating him to stop talking.

And with that, Lucas focus on the two people on the mountain and he was able to hear their conversation, he clenched his fist in anger and gritted his teeth.

"Looks like Magnus forgot the little deal we had" He spoke. Yan looked at him confused as if he didn't understand whatever was going on.

Lucas was happy because from the conversation they were having, Magnus was not in support of the little marriage they wanted to have, but he was more furious at the king for being so stupid, how could he let them fall in love knowing that they would not marry each other. There is no way Luna is going to marry the man beside her, he thought to himself.

"Yan?" He called

"Yes your majesty?" Yan asked with his head bowed.

"See to it that he doesn't get to his destination, you understand what I mean" Lucas smirked as he brought his hand towards to imitate to him to kill Evans.

"Yes your majesty" Yan answered.

"I have a little business here, get going" Lucas said with his lips twisted in a devilish smirk, oh he loved the kind of person he was, he wouldn't feel any emotion because he didn't have a heart and besides he wasn't like those dumb humans.

Yan went to a hiding spot to set an ambush for Evans and some minutes later while Evans was passing, Yan made sure to silence him. He was sure that the king would have known that he had carried out his orders. Yan didn't know why the king had to kill this innocent man, he knew that if he played a foul game here by letting Evans escape, Lucas was surely going to know and he would end up being killed.
