"Michi Uno has forfeited. Therefore, Kushimaru is the winner!"
Shigeo sighed, turning towards the board once again. Finally, the last fight was about to take place.
As the names rolled, the last three participants paid extra attention. Apart from Jun, Hiyashi and Shibi from Dan's team also remained.
The board finally stopped, and the fighters were announced.
"Uchiha Jun vs. Aburame Shibi."
'Sadly, it wasn't any of the ones that I found interesting…'
Although Jun was happy to fight, he hadn't gotten fortunate. Fuguki, Minato, and Rasa had already participated, so he couldn't fight them instead.
"Jun, don't be too rough on him."
Jiraiya smiled. He knew how strong his student was, and didn't even doubt for a second that he would emerge victorious.
"He's from the leaf… Of course, I won't be rough. Anyways, I'll be off."
Yawning, Jun walked down to the arena. In front of him, Shibi had his hands in his coat's pockets.
Shibi wore shades, a trait common to his clan, and a large cloak. Seeing him, Jun yawned once again, causing Shibi to get a little angry.
Raising his hands, bugs swarmed around him, producing disgusting sounds.
"If you underestimate me, it might not end well for you."
Hearing Shibi's words, Jun smiled. He knew the Aburame clan. They tended to be very relaxed, but if you challenged their ego, they could get out of hand pretty quickly. Stretching, he pretended to ignore his words.
Seeing this, Shibi was fuming. The bugs around him became more agitated as he prepared to show the kid a lesson. Even if he was from the Uchiha clan, one had to know that the Aburame were among the top four clans in the village, labeled as the 'noble' clans.
He wouldn't take a direct insult to his pride lightly.
"Begin!"
As soon as Shigeo spoke, Shibi's bugs raced in Jun's direction. Smiling, Jun performed a few hand-seals and expanded his lungs.
"Katon: Gokakyu no jutsu!" (Fire release: Great fireball technique!)
The fireball was so massive that it completely engulfed Shibi's bugs, burning them to ashes. There was no trace of them left.
"Kuh…"
Shibi furrowed his brows. Raising his arms once again, more bugs crawled out of his body. Katon users were hard to deal with.
As the fire dissipated, Shibi noticed something unexpected. Jun had disappeared entirely.
Looking around, he could feel no trace of him. It was as if he'd snapped out of existence.
"I can't feel him…! Did he die?" Hiruzen and all of the Jōnin in the area widened their eyes. Jun had disappeared entirely out of their perception.
Seeing their reactions, Jiraiya burst out laughing, drawing everyone's attention. Furrowing his brows, Dan asked the question on everyone's minds.
"What's so funny, Jiraiya?"
"Hahaha! You should've seen your reaction; it was priceless!"
Wiping the tear from his eye, Jiraiya stopped laughing and grinned.
"What Jun is using is a technique he developed himself… Even I can't sense him when he uses it."
"What!?"
Everyone stared at him in disbelief. Was that even possible?
Hiruzen massaged his forehead. What kind of transcendental genius could come up with such a technique...? The only person that came to mind was the second Hokage.
Back in the arena, Shibi maintained his composure. He had witnessed how Fuguki had assassinated his opponent, so he stayed alert.
Alas, it was useless. Jun silently emerged from the ground behind him and hit him cleanly on the neck, just like Minato. Shibi's eyes rolled upwards as he landed on the ground, unconscious.
"Monsters…"
All of the Jōnin in the room stared at both Jun and Minato. Konoha was in for a new Era. One of unlimited possibilities.
The ones from other villages immediately made a note of them, reminding themselves to report back.
They were that threatening.
