Rescue operation [18]

We drove quite some time to then finnaly arrive at the academy, there was a barrier outside but we easily broke through. We got up on the roof and looked down.

"Damn, I count... 38 cultists.", I sighed. We continued looking at the situation, we were becoming more and more worried. The cultists brought out some students, there was Lyra with them, they were all wearing shackles, most likely magic sealing ones.

"Looks really bad, Jin.", Emilia quiwered. "Yeah, that's right...", I said while still focused on the students. The cultists opened a brodcast to show it to the whole kingdom while putting sacks on the students' heads. "TODAY MARKS A NEW ERA, A NEW BEGINNING, STARTING WITH THE EXECUTION OF THESE STUDENTS!", one cultist screamed into the mic. 

My eyes widened. "Execution?", I said while looking shocked. I formed a bow of blue fire. "Emilia, would you mind putting some water around the arrow of fire?", I asked. Without talking she just did. Luckly I paid attention in my chemistry class. If water gets too hot, it evaporates, forming steam. I shot the arrow at the cultists, I made sure the range was big but it was very weak to prevent hurting the students. "Jin, what was this?", Emilia asked. "Come on, our chance, I'll get 5, you get 5.", I said while jumping down.

I rushed towards my five, I swung 4 people on my shoulders and took one on the back. "BURST STEP!", I screamed and shot up to the roof again. The steam was still present, clouding us from the cultists. After dropping off the students, I removed their sacks around their heads and after that the shackles. "JIN! YOU'RE BACK! YOU HAVE TO SAVE THE OTHERS!", Lyra screamed. "I need information, Lyra. How many and where are the others.", I said calmly. "There are about 100 cultists, we were hiding in the principal's office at the beginning so there might still be some people there. After that we ran down into the basment, it's heavily baricaded. Kael, Rowan, and Lorien are there.", she responded. "Are you hurt? How did you get captured? And where's Aria?", I questioned. "I'm... fine, just feel a bit shaken. And for your second question, I was out scouting when a LOT of cultists came, about 50. They used their fucking magic sealing device, but not just one but 10 at that. Also, Aria... is currently gone... she was called by her family before the attack...", she said as she hugged me. I brushed her off and went towards the edge of the roof. "Thanks. I'll take care of it.", I said while having a disgusting grin. I fell down the roof and landed in the middle of the cultists, just like I wanted back then when I discovered blue fire magic, I sourrounded my body with blue fire. The steam was going away, my black coat still swinging in the air, my eyes focused and fixed on the cultists. "What's up, fuckers.", I said. The fire made me look powerful, stronger than before.

"Seems like you guys don't talk and just act. Kinda boring but alright. LET'S DANCE!", I screamed as I summoned my shadow claymore, I imbued it again with the blue fire and approached them with caution.

Emilia came down next to me. "No. Lyra said they are in the basement, go there and rescue them. After that, go to the principal's office, there might be some more students. After that come back here.", I said in a calm tone.

"Y-You sure, Jin? I know you're strong but... so many?", she said worridly. "I am quite confident, I also want to test out new things.", I smiled at her. Emilia rushed off into the school and I was alone again, the students were watching from the rooftop. I continued my advances. "Future sight, activate.", I thought.

I leaned to my right, evading a fireball. "Oh? You guys can use magic without saying it out loud. You know, I always just say the spell's name because it sounds cool, but I can play with you guys.", I spoke out calmly as I cut another lightning bolt in half, absorbing it with my shadow sword. "You guys wanna know something?", I said as I walked closer, but now they all started shooting spells, ranging from novice to even master class ones when multiple mages attacked together, I dodged or absorbed them all. "My sword, no, shadow magic has a unique property. You can absorb magic you hit with this sword. Seeing how your spells are quite weak, it can't break due to too less of storage.", I said while going into a cultist's shadow. I stabbed him straight through the chest and lifted him up with my sword. "Another interesting fact is, that I can absorb life essence, since you guys are pretty much all dead, I can't take much, but it's good to regenerate a bit.", I added while going into the next guy's shadow and doing the same.

"SO, LET'S FUCKING PLAY!", I screamed out while imbuing my sword with more magic power. "THIS ABILITY IS CALLED "SHADEFLAME INFERNO"! SO LET'S SEE HOW GOOD YOU GUYS CAN COUNTER IT!", I continued. "I'LL BLOW YOU ALL AWAY IN JUST ONE ATTACK!". The cultists casted a barrier out of hexagons around me, I rammed the sword into the ground, blue fire mixed with some shadow magic shoots out into all directions, growing in size as it went away from me. The barrier was slowly but surely breaking. The cultists quickly broke it and casted a new one a bit further away but the spell was growing too fast and the barrier broke too. Due to the barriers the spell lost much of his force but still took about 10 with it.

The cultists stared at the place I was in before. I stood behind them all. "Thought that would get you all... seems like you managed to defend it quite well, though it was predictable because I took so long to charge it... From the original 38... 26 are left.", I muttered. They started firing spells at me again but I did the same as before. "Great... more and more mana... thank you guys. Not that I need it but alright.". I ran really fast and jumped over the masses. I landed in the middle and went into a position. "The next trick I'm going to show you is called "Scorching Vortex". Be sure to not get sucked in, or suffer the consequences.", I said.

I started to spin in a circle, creating a vortex, the enemies got drawn in, in the whole circle around me, shadow magic and blue fire magic were all around the place. The ground was burning, shadow arms reached out the ground and attacked the cultists. They burned and then were right infront of me, the center. I then charged myself with extra blue fire and shot them all away, in the end only 10 enemies remained.

"So you guys are the final 10, huh?", I said while the fire still came out of my body, my cape now had some little burns but it made it look way more cool. I walked towards them but made my sword go away. They shot spells at me again but I evaded due to future sight. I made a bow out of shadow magic and created an arrow out of blue fire. "This is a enhanced version of a "Flame dart". Make sure not to die.", I mumbled as I shot it at them, the whole ground exploded, only 2 cultists remain as I removed the bow from my hand. I continued advancing and stood infront of one guy. I grabbed his face and lifted him up. "Why... why are you doing this, my lord?", he asked. "My lord, my oh my... and to answer your question, you hurt my friends, you have to pay. It is as simple as that.", I explained calmly. He was about to say something again but I just crushed his head with my hand and walked over to the next guy, my clothes and skin was full of blood now.

"Now onto you.", I observed. "P-PLEASE, DON'T HURT ME, I HAVE A FAMILY, KIDS.", he screamed out desperately. "Come on, stop lying.", I sighed. I created a small orb of shadow magic in my hand. "Any last words...?", I asked. "My lord... why aren't you on our side?", he asked. "Gosh, what is with this my lord shit.", I questioned. "You possess shadow magic. It is a sign of the da-", I cut him off, blasting away his head with the orb, the orb basically created another one and shot it at him. I lowered my hand and made the orb go away. "Now for the epic pose...", I said as I stacked the dead bodies on a pile and summoned my sword and stuck it into them.

Emilia came down from the rooftop after rescuing the students. I just stood there, my sword in a cultists body. "Hello. I see you're finished.", I remarked. "J-JIN, YOU HAVE BLOOD ALL OVER YOU! ARE YOU GOOD?", she screamed out as she rushed towards me. I unsummoned my sword and thought, "Totally worth it.".

Emilia rushed at me and hugged me, staining her coat with blood too. "Not my blood.", I said. "W-what?", she asked. "It's their's.", I answered while pointing at the cultists below me. "Thank... god... you're okay... I... I thought... the whole time... I THOUGH THAT I'D LOOSE YOU, JIN!", she said as she cried into my chest. "Me? Dying? Hell nah.", I boasted while hugging her. "Do you know where the other... uhh... 62 cultists are?", I questioned. "N-No.. but I overheard some cultists saying they were going to flee for the moment... to rebuild their forces. They also mentioned something like that it is unfortunate that "The dark lord is here".", she replied while still crying. "Always this fucking dark lord... what does it mean?", I questioned... "Come on, let's get to the students.", I said as I used burst step to go up to the roof.

Kael, Lorien and Lyra came to me. "Jin... how the fuck did you get so strong?", Kael asked. "Training.", I looked over to Rowan who was currently treating the students "Training huh?", Lorien said. "DO YOU THINK WE'RE STUPID?", he screamed out. I just laughed but felt something change, murderous intent and magical pressure, stronger than the cultists before... something was off about it though... 

Looking at the other DC members, they felt it too. Someone strong had arrived.
