Evaluation [20]

I pondered for a bit then looked at him, "Ah hell nah." They all looked at me confused. "Just one dungeon, please.", he pleaded. "Why the fuck would I? I ain't getting anything out of it. I just wanna return home, that's it.", I groaned. "Besides, that shit is too much work.", I added.

"Oh... okay. All I'm asking for is one dungeon, that's it.", he argued. "Fine, but only one dungeon and we have to do it tomorrow.", I hissed. They all seemed overjoyed, I just shut the door and went to sleep.

I woke up the next morning due to their knocking on my door. "THE FUCK DO YOU GUYS WANT? IT'S 7 AM LET ME GET SOME GODDAMN SLEEP, GOT IT?", I screamed. They all seemed taken aback. "Gosh, now that I'm awake I can't sleep in the first place...", I said as I exited the room with them. "Hey, kid, You have to get a adventurer's licence before you can actually go with us...", the leader said. "And where do I get one?", I questioned. "At the receptionist.", he quickly replied. "They'll just measure your mana in your body and give you a rank according to it, normally you would have to do a match against a trainer that rank, but since you're with us, we will test you in that dungeon so you don't have to."

"Great...", I said as I walked over to the receptionist. Laura greeted me, "Hello, Jin. Why are you here today? Possibly more to sell?", she said while smiling. "Nah, I want a adventurer's licence.", I quickly said. "You don't have one already? I mean, you are quite strong if you took down so many sandscourges. Doesn't matter now, I'll quickly get the orb from the back.", she said as she went to open a door. She came back a few seconds later with a transparent orb. "Do I have to explain how this works?", she asked. "I think so, yeah.", I replied.

"Okay. This orb will light up in the color of your magic, if you have multiple ones it will shine in both ones. The fuller the orb is, the more mana you have and the less transparent it is, the more potent it is. Alright, just put your hand on the orb now.", she explained. I did as she wanted me to. I placed my right hand on the orb, it quickly flickered black, then orange with slight blue specks. It grew and grew until the whole orb was full of it, it got less and less transparent too until finnaly, the orb shattered.

Laura gulped, "W-How... is that even possible... I've never heard of... the orb... shattering...", she cried out. The whole guild looked over and all the party members looked even more shocked... there were murmurs all around the place. Laura fell on the ground as more receptionists came out from the back. They stared at it in shock. "W-was that black too? So you... po-possess Shadow magic...?", Laura quivered. "Yeah, is that a problem?", I asked. "N-No... just... we'll get the card ready in a second...", she replied. A tiny fragment of the glass, used to display the stats lighted up. Potency and manapool all showed a tiny 100%. Laura held her hand infront of her mouth. "Kid... you.. are a monster... truly... a... A REAL MONSTER!", she screamed as she started to cry.

The party members backed away a little out of fear. A man came out from the back and tossed me a pitch black adventurer's licence. "Sorry bout them. I'm Thireal, I am the guild master of this fine place.", he said. I looked down at the card. It displayed my name and my age. Three blue "S" were written in the top right corner. "You are the highest rank in the guild, SSS-Rank.", he smiled. People ran out of the guild in fear but the S-Rank squad stayed behind. I quickly remembered something, I hadn't turned down my mana boost from the previous 700%, meaning, I got measured at 700% of my output.

"I just think the measurement... was wrong.", I stated as I turned it down to the usual 100%. "Can we test again?", I asked. "Huh? What do you mean?", he asked. "Though it is not false that I possess Shadow magic, I think the other measurement was false. I request we try again.", I stated. Thireal went to the back and grabbed another orb. He placed it on the counter, everyone was on high alert. I put my hand on the orb and this time it didn't shatter. It displayed a 87 out of 100 for mana pool and a 79 for mana potence.

"Well this is still impressive for a kid. We'll get you a new card right away... looking at it.. you are about... A-Rank.", he said as he got to the back. The adventurer's party relaxed a little after the reevaluation. "I thought you might actually be some... monster, but still, A-Rank at 10 years old is impressiv", the leader said relieved. After I got my card we finnaly went to the dungeon, we walked through the forest and killed some monsters that were attacking us.

We arrived at a hill, a massive stone gate covered in moss and grass stood before the entrance, it looked like an ancient mine. The leader approached the entrance and looked down the stairs.

"Hold up, I never got your names...", I quickly said. "Really?", the leader asked. "Really.", I answered. He sighed. "Okay, I'm Thalric Stormblade, our archer is Elenara Silverleaf, our mage is Seraphina Emberwind, our close range tank is called Throgar Ironfist and at last, our healer is Eamon Lightbringer.", he said while smiling. "Got it?", he asked. "Yeah, got it. I'm Jin, Jin Smith, I am ten years old and come from a village near the human capital. I got send here by a betrayal from a friend, she used a teleport spell and sent me here.", I explained, "Thought you guys should know that.", I added. They all looked at me in shock, "Kid, you must be through a lot. Don't worry, we'll make sure you get home safe and sound.", the dwarf spoke and patted my shoulder. He was about my height so it was quite easy for him.

We stepped down the stairs, it was really dark so I casted a simple fire spell and attached it to everyone so it followed them. I then shot out a bigger one to illuminate the whole room. The place was covered in cobwebs and skeletons of the ones with a more unfortunate fate.Soon enough, we came across a split in ways. "Left or right?", Thalric asked. I could sense stronger mana coming from the left, but that could also just be a trap to lure us to the right... "Left.", I quickly spoke out. The others looked at me confused but didn't mind. We approached a iron door, Thalric opened it, it revealed a large room with stone statues, in the middle of it stood a chest. Elenara rushed towards it, she slowly opened the chest and peeked inside. "It... it's empty...", she said before disaster. The chest exploded but I casted a barrier infront of her in time. The stone statues started moving and approached us.
