The Epic Move
"I heard about Damon," Their mother said during dinner.
Wonderful. Another tale to tell.
"Oh," Nessa was genuinely surprised. Well, Damon's incident had spread around town plus the fact her mother worked under Mrs. Claire. It was no wonder she found out about the news.
"How's he doing?" Jenny went ahead to ask Nessa.
Ah, right, the both of them - Damon and her mother - were now besties after the stunt they pulled on her last week Friday. How could she have forgotten that?
"He's fine," Nessa intentionally didn't go into details knowing her mother would probably probe for more information.
"So, Trevor told me you visited him?"
As expected. Nessa wasn't surprised.
"Yes," She said and took advantage of the situation to inform her, "I'm skipping school tomorrow,"
Her mother Jenny did not seem surprised by the announcement, as if she had seen it coming, "Fine, I'll call the school and keep them informed of your absence,"
