(I got to lazy to write dialogue and introduce the rules I'll probably do it later)
On Monday he returns back to school and they have a school assembly.
Student credits are used for qualifications to obtain teachers, homework, test scores and the like. Everyone currently is in the same pools for school, but points can be fast tracks to certain perks like better lunches and such.
School Credits can only be used within each grade, that way you don't get upperclassmen openly stealing credits. They can't just steal credits and test score, but there are still a few perks like better food and recess equipment that it can be spent on, although ASB monitors them and gives out penalties if anyone gets caught.
Competition between students are fierce and everyone is motivated to do well on tests and homework. These systems generate of cycles where better grades mean more credits, better study guides and teachers. While those who lack credits or are bad at studying stay near the bottom.
Theoretically hard work can bridge the gap, but if everyone works hard the people at the bottom are screwed. Unless people like being at the bottom or they can trade their way up. Marconi is an average student, so he can see himself in the middle of the pack, as such he is mainly ignored when this system was fully introduced.
Certain geniuses started spreadsheets and ranking systems for predictions and who to mooch off of and school just became that much more competitive. Extra credit can be bought or exchanged for school credit.
Certain roles like ASB, teacher's pet, snitches, and jobs came up so students can earn credit outside of class. Special events will give out prizes and credits, but not enough to break the system but to introduce some uncertainty and events. (System Mainly Established, OP skill generated).
This system is mainly self regulated, perpetuated by the school and enforced by a combination of security, ASB, and the patrol guards (hallways, crosswalks, playground).
The patrol guards are a special force operating outside ASB and is a cooperative organization that generate special powers from the school, a school security force that is there to keep ASB in check they also hold considerable power.
Unions and corporations are harshly crushed as to prevent a total takeover and monopoly of school resources, the Academy Opportunity of everything is a school of course, but they teach life skills.
Another thing about this system is that they modeled a tax system with the paperwork to U.S tax code. There's a mini IRS organization attached to ASB and a bank managed by the school. It's like real life work, but in a school.
Good grief, I came up with some weird ideas as this was only just one year ago!
