The X dilemma

{Dennis POV}

We were on our way to the tower. It was a long ride. But things are about to get weird the moment we noticed F on the roof. I then pulled out my phone and made a call to him.

"Hey F, why are you on the roof?"

"Making sure that the coast is clear. I believe Dj isn't with you?" F asked.

I stayed quiet. I didn't want to bring it up that I left a friend behind for the safety of everyone else.

"I'll take that silence that he stayed behind."

"Shut up."

"You may know everything, but I can care less right now. Letting me alive was your worst mistake."

I then ended the call and set the ship on autopilot. I was already mad. F knows everything but does nothing about it. It's like he sees everything like a game, but I can't complain that much since I'm slowly turning like him by every second.

The ship landed by itself and we all got off. First one to get off was Claire, she got worried about Kiwi. Then Sally got off, searching for Claire. Then Nidializ, she stayed by the ship, waiting for me. And Finally, I was the last one to get off.

Once I had my foot out of the ship. F was standing in front of me. He was smiling at me as he knew something will happen right now.

"Spill it."

"Oh, you will see. This will make you laugh."

"The hell do you mean? Did something weird happened overnight?" I asked.

"Then head to the office if you going to keep on asking." F said to me.

He then pulled out his lance and jumped out from the rooftop.

"Is he going to be okay?" Nidializ asked.

"He should be fine. The only thing that can happen is he causes an explosion." I said to Nidializ.

We then headed towards the elevator. I pressed the button to call the elevator. But as we waited. We heard an explosion coming from behind us.

"What was that?!" Nidializ asked. She was about to panic and turn around.

"It was probably nothing."

I said to Nidializ and stopped her from looking back. Then the elevator showed up. We both got in and I pressed the button that had a X on it. And as the elevator door closed, we got sent to the office in less than a second.

"Okay, something weird is going on. It takes at least like an hour to get out of the roof." I said out loud.

Then Nidializ hit me with her left shoulder. Showing me to pay attention to our surroundings. There was no one in the help desk or on the office chair. It was giving us a reason to have our weapon out and ready, but it was something didn't feel right.

"Dennis. Kiwi stayed here last night with X, right?"

"Yea... But he would be on the chair by now. Did he actually went to sleep on a bed or something?"

"You know yourself better, bro. What would you do if you pulled an all-nighter in an office like this?" Nidializ asked.

If I stayed in an office like this for an entire night. I would have ended up on the couch at some point if I had gotten tired of sitting on the chair. I then pointed at the couch with my left hand. We then noticed a blanket over it.

"Bingo." I said out loud.

We then approached the couch. Nidializ was standing behind me while I had a closer look. The moment I placed my hand on the edge of the blanket. I felt a small vibration coming from it.

It then came to me. I closed my eyes as I turned my head around at Nidializ, I then crossed my fingers. Showing her that theirs two people under the blanket. She got closer behind me, leaning over me to get a good angle.

Once I lifted the blanket. I took a small peek and saw Kiwi. Then I lifted it completely, revealing X behind Kiwi.

"O-Oh! This is not good." I said with a big smile.

I finally understood why would this make me laugh. From our way of understanding. X is mostly a secure guy, keeping things to himself and shares with who he trusts most. But seeing X cuddling with Kiwi was off the record.

"What do you mean? And why are you smiling?" Nidializ asked.

"The thing is. X never sleeps, and especially with someone else." I said to Nidializ.

She then processed what I said and realized what it meant. She then gasped and took a step back.

"Bro... Is she like...?"

"One way to find out. I'm surprised that they were civil at least, but now I want to know how this will play out." I said to Nidializ.

We then noticed that someone was opening the door. I took Nidializ's hand to hide with her behind the desk. I then gave her a hand sign to stay quiet and not to give a word.

When the door opened. Claire and Sally entered the office, trying to find Kiwi.

"This is the last place I recall seeing her." Claire said.

"Then she pro- Oh..." Sally said.

She then realized what happened and blushed. Sally then was looking away. Making Claire curious about what she saw.

"Did something happened?"

"A cute hottie is sleeping with an angel by the couch."

Sally then pointed it out and Claire saw it. She saw her friend a sleep with X. Then they finally woke up. The first one to wake was Kiwi that felt that some were behind her. She turned around and saw X slowly waking up.

"Good morning hun..." Kiwi said to X.

"Morning..."

He then got up and saw Claire and Sally in the room. Then he realized he slept with Kiwi.

"At least our clothes are on." Kiwi said.

She then got up and stretched her body. When she was done, she saw Claire blushing.

"Wait! This a misunderstanding!!"

"I'm not so sure about that. All evidence leads to you, the couch and X. So tell me, did you two do it?" Claire asked.

X then had to stand up to make things clear.

"Look, I was a sleep in my chair. The only way I ended up here is if I sleep walked or someone placed me here. Plus, if we have done something, it would have been very clear by now."

X had a good point. If they have done something that obvious, the office would have been a mess by the time one of us could show up. It then came to me that F would be the only one to pull a trick like that.

It caused too much misunderstandings; it was the only thing that could make me laugh about now. I then came out from hiding and slammed the desk with my hands while laughing. It scared everyone except X. Then Nidializ came out from behind the desk and laughed with me.

"What is the meaning of this?" Claire asked.

"Just a simple misunderstanding. Now we have some important stuff to tell you X."

"Hmm?"

It took some time before I could X what happened hours ago. He and Kiwi got themselves fixed to be presentable. Sally took a seat on the couch while me, Claire and Nidializ were standing in front of the desk while X was on his chair.

"Okay. Dennis, you said that you have something important to tell me?"

"Yes. This goes as well with what we are dealing with. We have encountered a ns that can copy a person and that can possess a person's shadow."

"Now that's not good. That means we have to be worried about the ns more than ever." X said.

"That's not all. The shadow ns can only be hurt by attacking its shadow with another shadow. While the mimic. I can say that this is no normal mimic we are going to deal with. This a prime ns." I said to X.

The reason why I said prime ns. It's that the mimic we are going to deal with ain't normal. We haven't heard it or encountered it. Prime ns are stronger than a normal ns.

"A prime? Wait, didn't you faced off with a claw type and flying type ns about a week or two?" X asked.

"Yea, but they weren't prime class. I would have been dead a long time ago if they were prime."

"Then that settles it. You know what to do. Eliminate the target at all costs."

As I heard X give me an order. My left eye glowed, and I gave him a smile.

"Understood. Claire, Nidializ, go get ready. We need to wait for-"

I stopped talking after the door broke down. A girl with emerald green hair wearing a maid outfit burst in while holding Dj on her back.

"Gaia I presume?"

Then Gaia raised her thumb while passing out.

"Ok then, make that an hour."

I then took Claire and Nidializ into the armory while X picked up Dj and brought him with us.

As an hour passed by. Dj woke up and saw me putting on an utility belt. He then turned around and saw Claire and Nidializ trying to figure out if they should bring additional gear than the headset.

"Hey, Dennis..." Dj said to me.

'What is it?"

"We are in big trouble..."

"Why is that?" I asked.

"Well... I won the fight against Mecha. It didn't feel like he was taking me serious. But Lod showed up when I captured him."

"I understand, this means that you have one more chance to settle the score. And I will not let you take him on alone." I said to Dj.

I then handed him a headset and a utility belt.

"Now let's go settle a score, pal." I said to Dj while placing my fist in front of him.

"Your on." Dj said, and he gave me a fist pump.

At that point. We all headed out and went to the place that we could find our target.
