The Warlord's right-hand man

Sky could see 25 people beneath him, all of them had no idea Sky and Jericho were hiding above them.

Sky didn't think he could kill 25 people at once. With his telekinesis he could kill at most 15 at a time by snapping their necks, but he had never practiced controlling more than 25 things at once especially if he had to break their necks.

By the time he starts attacking the rest of the groups would come rushing over to them.

"System, is there a way to leave this dungeon without killing the boss?" Sky whispered.

{There is a consumable item that can do that. Sadly it seems the player's luck is too poor and hasn't found one as of yet}

"Where can I get one?" 

{Most common way is buying it from the Merchant. Another way is to find it in dungeon chests, secret rooms, and it even rarely drops from killing secret bosses, though the odds of one dropping are low}

Sky groaned inwardly.

Sky cannot blame his own luck for this. It was his decision to save Jericho when he could've been with his parents by now. It was his decision to kill the Warlord's men to dwindle their forces. Actions have consequences no matter the reason, good or bad, smart or dumb, accidental or on purpose.

"System, I just want to be sure but if I were to enter the boss room and shut the door while I'm inside, can other people still enter?"

{No. Once the door of a boss room has been closed no one can enter, and no one can leave}

"Great!" Sky was happy, this is a happy piece of news.

Once a boss room is defeated an exit will appear in the boss room. 

Sky does ignore the exit because he wastes so much mana on turning his ship into a card. And every time he does use the exit he is forced out of the dungeon and into the ocean, ever since then he doesn't use the dungeon's exit except when he's on land.

G. has seen this problem but has no idea how to fix it. He created the dungeon exits so player's don't waste time taking the long way back.

"Jericho, I have an idea. Climb on my back."

While carrying Jericho on his back Sky jumped from tree to tree closer to the boss room. The boss room is usually on the other side of the dungeon.

Sky used his beetle boots ability to triple jump. It doesn't cost mana to use but stamina.

Sky carried and left Jericho just close to the boss room.

"Listen, if we make it to that boss room, shut ourselves in, and kill the boss we can leave this dungeon using the exit."

"Then why are we still here? There is no one guarding the boss room." Jericho whispered. She was worried they would be caught any moment.

Spending all this time with Sky she knows his presence inside a portal changes the rules. They cannot leave unless the boss dies, and an exit always appears at the end, which isn't common sense.

"I have to destroy their ships. By the time they realize what we are up to they'll be on their ships waiting for us. By that time they'll be ready for us, and they'll use whatever they got on us, like their cannons."

"How are you going to destroy those giant ships?" 

"They're mostly made of wood. And look what I have here." Sky created fire from his palm.

Jericho realized that Sky was going to burn the three ships. She nodded and agreed with his plan.

"Please be careful."

"I will."

*SCREECH* *SCREAM*

Sky saw a couple of baboons making loud noises and pointing at them.

"SHIT!" Sky didn't realize that baboons saw him. He quickly snapped their necks to shut them up.

Some of the Warlord's men overheard the baboon's scream and couldn't help but check it out.

"You've gotta be kidding me!" Sky was planning on sneaking past them, hiding under water, swimming towards the ships with a trident on hand to increase his swimming speed, and when he would reach the ships he would burn them.

If he were to sneak past them now they would most likely find Jericho hiding. And he cannot trust her to kill 25 people.

"Guess I have no choice."

"Wait, what are you-"

"I have to draw them away from you." 

Sky jumped down, he could sense a group coming towards him.

Sky took out two items from his inventory, his naginata and the potion of great strength. He drank the potion which tasted like medicine, very bitter.

"Ugh."

Adding the strong man's shirt that gives him 20+ str and the 50 str he got from drinking the potion, his strength stat was technically over 140. But that wasn't enough.

Sky, with the naginata in hand, rushed towards the group.

"This weapon is heavy." Sky felt awkward holding a naginata, it was a weapon he just learned that existed.

"Wait, heavy weapon?" 

Sky remembered when his strength reached 50 he received new passive skills, one of those skills increases heavy weapon damage by 20% at the time he thought it was useless, now it helps him greatly.

Some of the men saw Sky running towards them. They immediately stopped and began letting the others know.

"HE'S OVER HERE!" 

Sky swung his naginata at the person closest to him who didn't have a chance to defend him. He, along with three other people close to him, and a bunch of trees were cut down in one swing.

Sky was surprised to see how much power the naginata carried. After all it wasn't just his naginata, it was the C-grade of both his strength and dexterity stats that helped a lot.

Everybody else started attacking Sky, but Sky was easily killing everyone quickly. He would use his telekinesis to crack their necks, sometimes pulling them closer to him.

When there were two left, Sky could sense 75 more people from three different sides coming towards him.

Sky commanded the 5 eagles to go to one of the groups where Victor wasn't in.

Jericho couldn't help but watch the bloodshed unfold. She was worried for him, and angry that she couldn't do anything. She knows Sky is worried about one of the Warlord's men because he's very powerful, something told her it was the old man as he stood apart from the rest.

"There has to be something I can do." Jericho thought as she bit her nail.

Then a thought occurred as she looked at the boss room.

With a determined look she knew what she had to do.

Victor and 24 other men arrived at the scene. They saw a bloodshed of their own men.

"This guy is strong and quick." Victor examined the bodies.

"Captain! Two survivors!" 

Victor ran to the two survivors barely holding onto dear life.

"Which way did he go?" 

"AAAAAHHHHH!" 

They could hear the screams of their own people being massacred at a distance.

Victor immediately ran towards the sound. By the time he arrived he saw his men fighting 5 lightning eagles. One shot from a lightning eagle was enough to kill a single one of them or leave them incapacitated.

'Incompetent fools. They're just lightning birds!'

Victor grabbed his sword and swung at the birds.

Killing two of them with one slash, one of the lightning birds shot at Victor. Victor predicted it and took the hit, thinking that he could tank it.

The sword that Victor carried glowed a red color.

Victor was surprised, he didn't think that lightning birds could deal so much damage. Lightning birds are supposed to be weak, quick, and annoying because of their tiny electrical shocks. They are not known for dealing massive damage.

He quickly finished dealing damage to the birds. The glowing in his sword vanished.

'No wonder my men are dying. That actually hurt.' Victor took a look at the spot where he got hit, the clothes around his heart were burned from the lightning attack.

'Now that I think about it, they don't look like tiny little birds but eagles instead. And since when can people summon more than one? That's only supposed to be possible if… you come from the Land of the Dead.'

Victor started to get worried. People from the Land of the Dead are stronger than he is. Even the average exterminator and Caribbean men are as strong as him, if not stronger. And they're more skilled than he is, with more powerful skills at their disposal and items as well.

At least that is what he has been told. In reality he has never set foot on the Land of the Dead.

"Captain, thank you for saving us."

"Everyone, go back to the ships, we are leaving now."

"But, the Warlord said-"

"This man is from the Land of the Dead. We need to get this message to the Warlord as quickly as possible. He might be stronger than me for all we know."

"So we're fleeing?"

"Not exactly. We destroyed his ship, he cannot run away. Our best odds of fighting back is if we fight him using our ships. If we see him blow him up with a cannonball, but keep your distance and do not let him board the ship."

Victor always thought this day might one day come. They've been in control of a large part of the Land of the Free for years, it was bound to happen.

The Land of the Free is supposed to be a safe haven for humans, a land of peace. If anyone is threatening that peace actions will be taken. Victor didn't think that it would take this long for someone to do something about it.

Meanwhile, Sky was swimming underwater with a trident on hand to increase his swimming speed.

Sky swore if he makes it out of this dungeon alive he will increase his swimming level. But the increase in swimming speed thanks to his trident was insane, he felt that he might be faster at swimming than running.

Sky touched the bottom of the Warlord's ship. Instead of destroying it he thought it would be better to turn it into a card.

Sky read the notification and decided against it. He can't waste all that mana, he will need it if he needs to fight Victor. 

Sky did not plan on fighting Victor, he needed to be able to run away from him. Fighting him is a last resort.

"WHAT?" Sky screamed underwater from the surprise.

Sky swam up to breathe. 

'What is Jericho doing?' Sky was very worried, Jericho has never solo'd a boss before.

Every time Jericho did fight a boss Sky was there to watch her, and help her if she needed it. 

Just then he noticed that Victor and a bunch of his men were going back to the ships. Sky dived back underwater before anyone noticed him.

'That was too fast! I didn't have time to start setting fire to their ships.'

He saw how all of them were retreating to their ships and were sailing to the exit.

'Wait, are they running away?' Sky thought he could use this to his advantage.

Victor commanded his men to follow him out of the dungeon. He plans on waiting for Sky outside the dungeon and fight him on his own terms, while commanding a few of his men to take a speed boat and send the Warlord an important message.

*CRASH* *CRASH* *CRASH*

Everyone fell over as all three boats hit an invisible wall.

"What the hell happened?" Victor asked, confused like everyone present.

"We… we don't know!" 

"There is something blocking the entrance! We can't leave."

"What?"

Sky touched the bottom of the ship. While concentrating he set fire to the inside of one of the ships. Setting fire on the inside is the only way to ignite the ship, because the outside of the ship was wet.

Pyrokinesis doesn't mean he can conjure flames out of his hand, it means he can also set fire to things just by looking and thinking about it.

He figured out this ability when he heated his food that had gone cold from training too much.

What Sky didn't know is that the place he had set fire was the exact place where they kept their gunpowder for their cannons.

And so…

*BOOM* 

Victor's ship explodes violently, sending him, his men, and destroying his ship entirely.

Sky was also caught in the explosion.

His max HP decreased from 5,980 because his strong man's shirt, sombrero of Nacho, and alligator pants gave him 600 max HP in total. Not to mention he also lost 20+ str and 15+ dex.

Sky was unmoving in the water, and yet all these notifications popped up in front of him.

Victor fell on the water almost naked. Everyone was shocked.

"Captain! Are you alright?" 

Victor was still swimming while keeping his head out of the water, but he was confused he had no idea where he was in.

*Rumble*

Everyone felt the dungeon shake lightly. Everyone knew what it meant, someone had killed the boss.

"Captain, come on! The dungeon is about to collapse?"

Seeing their captain was confused, a few of his men swam to him to save him.

Meanwhile, Jericho jumped to the exit and fell to the ocean right outside the dungeon's entrance.

"Activate!" 

Jericho summoned the speedboat Sky just gave her. There was a noticeable claw mark on her back, the monkey boss managed to scratch her back and left a deep cut. It was the only wound she received.

Jericho counted herself lucky that her knife's abilities activated on the boss, and thanks to her high stats she was able to kill the boss.

"I did it. Sky, I did it… Sky?" 

Jericho noticed Sky wasn't here yet.

"Sky!" Jericho took control of the speed boat and drove back to the dungeon without hesitation.

She saw two ships still intact but with minor damages on them. One of them was caught on fire and was sinking fast.

Everyone was worried about something else that they didn't notice Jericho in her speed boat.

'Sky?' She looked around for him but couldn't see him. 

On the water she saw a familiar and weird hat floating.

'Oh no.' Jericho dove to the water.

Under the water she saw that Sky wasn't moving.

She swam faster towards him. Jericho might be a thirteen year old girl but her stats make her several times stronger than a full grown adult.

With one hand wrapped around his arm she swam up while pulling him.

Sky opened his eye. He was calm in the situation, his left arm wasn't functioning at all and it hurt like hell. But he also realized he was running out of air. He noticed Jericho was pulling him up.

"GASP!" Sky could finally breathe again. "*cough* *cough*" He climbed on top of the speed boat.

'That was stupid of me.' Sky thought.

Jericho also climbed on the speed boat. 

"I FOUND HIM!" 

They were spotted.

*Boom*

One of them shot a cannonball at them. Jericho was able to hold off the cannonball in the air.

Sky didn't hear the cannonball as he was deaf but saw how close it was. He flicked his arm and threw the cannonball back at the ship.

"Summon lightning eagles!"

Five eagles quickly flew to one ship and started killing everybody on the ship.

"Heal!"

'He's still alive?' 

Sky noticed Victor was on his ship, he was also injured.

'Identify.'

The sword was still in Victor's possession. And it is glowing red, brighter than before, it looked as if the sword was bathed in a blacksmith's forge for several hours.

'Identify.' Sky had a bad feeling about that sword. Why was it glowing like that?

Sky read that in an instant. Then he saw Victor raise his sword high above while staring at them with a horrible look in his eye.

Sky knew what he was about to do. 

"Jericho, let's kill them." 

Without waiting for a response he jumped towards the other ship. With his boots he could jump in the air.

"Super strength!"

"Ice trident!" 

Everything seemed to have slowed down for Sky, because he knew if he made a mistake here he would die.

Victor smirked as Sky had no way to dodge his attack.

"Curse of slowness!" Victor said.

Sky felt his movement was slowed down.

Victor felt something heavy weighing him down. He knew it was the curse of slowness but it was much more powerful than the one he just casted on Sky.

"DIE!" Victor shot out an arc slash at Sky. It was only at level one but it had a lot of power in it.

Sky was waiting for that to happen.

"ABSOLUTE SHOT!"

Sky threw the ice trident at Victor.

The ice trident traveled around the arc slash. Victor saw the ice trident coming at him, but he didn't care, his sword could absorb the damage.

With his barely left functional hand, Sky extended it towards the arc slash.

"Mana absorption!"

The powerful arc slash disappeared as Sky had absorbed it.

Despite it only being a 14 point difference it was enough for Sky to absorb his attack.

Victor saw his attack disappear and he was shocked. No one could make his attack disappear like that.

Then the trident hit his face and it broke into pieces. He could feel the power from that attack, it hurt so much that he was sure that if his blade didn't absorb the damage he would be dead.

Victor couldn't move, he was cold, as if he were trapped in a block of ice.

Sky smirked, again. This is the reason he loves grinding his skills, sometimes it can make it up due to the lack of stats.

'WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING TO ME?!' 

Using his second jump, Sky jumped towards Victor. He took out his naginata from his inventory.

"HEAL!"

Sky held the naginata with both hands. Then he saw the rest of the crew members reacting quickly to help their captain. All of them had guns on them.

All of their weapons exploded in their hands. Somehow the guns had malfunctioned and it caused the mini explosion.

Sky looked over to Jericho. She saw all those people aim their weapons at Sky. From that distance she crushed their guns which caused the explosion.

Jericho may have more mana than before but it was only 660. She used a lot of mana fighting the boss, stopping a cannonball mid-air, and now crushing over 20 guns at once. It was too much.

He hoped that bit of mana would help her since he didn't need it at the moment.

Before Sky could pierce his naginata at Victor, he was starting to move slightly despite being in a frozen state.

Sky frowned. He wasn't going to make it in time.

With his telekinesis he pulled Victor towards him. 

Sky was never going to use telekinesis on Victor. His telekinesis scales with his intelligence at a D-grade, and since Victor's strength stat far surpassed his intelligence stat telekinesis would not work.

Sky has used telekinesis before on bosses who have higher strength than he had in intelligence, and they always broke free easily from his telekinetic grasp.

But since Victor was in a frozen state he couldn't move, which meant he couldn't break free either.

Despite pulling Victor towards him, Sky wasn't going to make it.

"HAAAA!" Sky threw his naginata at him hoping it would be enough to kill him.

Victor managed to break free from his frozen state, and got his sword ready to block his naginata. Once he blocked his naginata he would cut down Sky while in the air.

"I WIN YOU IDIOT!" Victor roared.

But just then his sword was cut into several pieces. He had no weapon anymore. His greatest treasure was broken into pieces.

Jericho puked out blood.

Killing a man of his strength gave both of them a great amount of experience.

Being fully recovered Sky landed on the ship. In a matter of seconds Sky killed everyone on board.

The other ship was broken, and nearly everyone was already dead thanks to his lightning eagles killing almost everyone.

Sky quickly jumped towards the speedboat where Jericho was. She was conscious but there was a lot of blood on her mouth.

"Heal!"

Jericho felt better all of a sudden.

Sky carried her and leapt to the other ship with her in his hands.

"Are you okay? How are you feeling?" Sky asked, worried for her. He grabbed a towel from his inventory and wiped the blood off her mouth.

"I'm fine." Jericho said.

"Stay here. I'll be back." 

After making sure Jericho was indeed fine, Sky jumped to the ocean and collected his naginata and even his sombrero. They were still in the dungeon, and they had about 7 minutes before the dungeon collapsed on them.

Sky checked Victor's body for any valuables, but the only valuable item he had was the weapon. Sky also grabbed all the pieces of the weapon hoping he might restore it.

Sky jumped on the ship.

"I claim this ship as my own!" He proclaimed.

The Battleship was several times larger than the Megalen. It also had more space, cannons, and several rooms including a jail cell.

Sky opened the map and picked a nearby island to rest.

The ship sailed away from the dungeon. As soon as they left the dungeon it closed on them. Dungeons close automatically by themselves as soon as it doesn't detect any other sign of life inside.

Sky turned to face Jericho. He walked fast towards her and hugged her.

"Sky?"

"You did so great today! You did such a great job! You saved us!"

Jericho's eyes widened. Then she closed them and hugged him back.

"But you almost died when you used more mana than you had."

"You were almost dead as well. I thought you died when I saw you motionless underwater! I was scared you were really dead!" Jericho retorted.

"That's… true." Sky made a mistake that almost cost him his life today with the gunpowder.

"You know what? Let's take it easy, just for today." 

Jericho nodded as she lay down on the ship exhausted.

Sky took a look at the awards he got from the quest.

Sky was shocked. The only other title he has was the 'Mmm, Monke' which increases his overall performance when fighting monkeys.

It's the item he personally got from killing Victor. Sky put on the viking helmet instead of his sombrero.

Sky handed Jericho the dagger. He had better weapons at his disposal.

"Here, take this. It's for you." 

Jericho looked at the dagger.

"I'll explain it later."

Sky read the same red scroll again to see any difference.

Sky fell on the ship, feeling exhausted.

"Just a couple more days. A few more days and I can get to go see my parents. I hope they're doing well." Sky muttered.

"Jericho, why did you think killing that boss by yourself was a good idea?" 

Jericho opened her eyes.
