--------------------------------------------
Ormund was a great commander, and like the other lords of Stormsland, he was a powerful fighter with a large body. It was a pity that he died early in this war.
"Aye." Shouted the men again from all ships. Their voice was like a thunder that decided to strike the island.
Steffon, who stood by his father's side while all that happened around him, looked at him with admiration in his eyes. His father was really good at everything he was doing, and he was proud to have such a father. Although his father was a little strict when it came to raising him, he still saw him as his idol.
It did not take a long time before all the ships landed on the Stepstones and the whole army assembled at once before that enemies could surround them. The fight was about to begin, and the chaotic atmosphere was heavy on those with weak hearts.
Steffon decided to fight with his friends around him since they managed to come this far and joined him in his fights. The group had each other back, especially the three men, Steffon, Tywin, and Aerys, who were friends for years.
"How are you doing there, Lannister?" Joked Steffon as he saw Tywin's sword slashing some enemy's neck. He wanted to tease his friend a little since he knew that his friend would always look grim.
"Better than you, Baratheon, I suppose." Said Tywin without any change of expression as he looked around Steffon and found that he killed more than his friend did. Tywin was always like that, even when he was among his friends. No one managed to make him smile except his cousin and love, Joanna Lannister.
"You two stop and fight." Shouted Aerys as he killed another enemy who came close to him. He thought that it was not a good idea for his two friends to tease each other at this time. They were in the war, damn it.
"Look who will become a knight after this." Said Steffon with a smile after hearing Aerys's words. He would not miss this chance to tease his cousin as well since he was the one who spoke first.
After hearing Steffon's words, the young Aerys wanted to punch him in the face after seeing him smile in this situation. He could only think of how brutal those men from Stormsland were, especially after seeing his cousin's wide and tall body, which helped him move around the battlefield with much ease while killing enemies left and right.
The two newcomers to this group, Lord Jon Arryn; and Rickard Stark, did not speak much since they did not know the other part well enough.
Anyway, the war continued like this for a while. No side was able to achieve any kind of victory, and no major event happened. The two sides were having a bitter battle since they hated each other for a long time and saw that only one side could exist and live in this world.
But everything suddenly changed in the battle, and the war took a turn of events after the appearance of Maelys I Blackfyre, the last known Blackfyre. This monster and Kinslayer, who ate his brother in his mother's womb and killed his cousin to take control of the golden company, saw Lord Ormund Baratheon and noticed how he killed many of his men. He decided to kill that man and came close to Lord Ormund Baratheon, who fought on his horse and did not notice Maelys at that time.
When Steffon, who had his eyes on his father since the start of the war, saw Maelys coming close to his father and recognized the danger in that scene, he sprinted as much as he could while killing enemies left and right in order to help his father as he saw that his father did not see the approaching danger. Steffon had heard a lot about this man who had another head on his shoulder and could crush a man's head with one hand. Although Steffon knew that his father was a good fighter and could stand against that monster for some time, he did not know for how long his father could resist that monster, though. His only thought as he crossed the battlefield to where his father and Maelys would fight was saving his father.
The group of Steffon's friends did not know what kind of disaster happened, which made Steffon separate from them like that and run across the battlefield. But after a brief look at the center of the battlefield, they understood what happened when they saw that monster approaching lord Baratheon. They did not wait for another second before deciding to follow Steffon's tracks. They knew that if Steffon or any Baratheon, in general, got mad, they would make mistakes here and there. They were afraid that Steffon would get himself killed because of his carelessness and eagerness to save his father.
Unfortunately, Maelys the Monstrous did not wait for the group to arrive and help Ormund and started fighting with Ormund, who did not fear him at all, head-on. Ormund was a good fighter, so he was able to stop Maelys for a few minutes in their clash. Although that was the case, Ormund was still not that monster's equal in terms of pure strength in the end. During the fight, Maelys's monstrosity appeared, and everyone could see it clearly, and even a fighter as strong as Ormund could not hold his sword after some more clashes with this monster.
Using his monstrous strength, Maelys managed to cut Ormund's left arm that Ormund was using to hold his sword before cutting Ormund's other arm next. Steffon, who was about to reach Ormund's location, did not see this scene as he was trying to speed up to save his father, who would die any moment, but before he even could get a little closer, Maelys's sword penetrated Ormund's chest and made a hole in his chest. Ormund, who could not control himself on his horse after his arms got cut, fell down from his horse while Maelys spoke.
"Weak." Said Maelys as he looked at the fallen knight and the Hand of the king before turning his head to find another pray. The author did not know how this man even dreamt of becoming the king of the seven kingdoms. Not only was he cruel and a monster, but he also did not put anyone in his eyes, even his fellow 'kings.'.
Not a minute had passed since Ormund's fall when Steffon came running to his body.
