Kinglanding, Crownlands, fifth moon of 279 AC
Ragnar Dovahkiin, Dacey Dovahkiin, and Benjen Stark watched as a Northern longship docked at Kingslanding's docks, proudly showing Stark and Manderlyn banners. Slowly making their way towards the ship, Ragnar and his party waited for their liege to descend from the vessel. Once Lord Rickard stepped out of the ship, followed by a highly excited little Lyanna Stark, Ragnar bowed his head in respect, something mirrored by Dacey and Benjen.
" Lord Stark… I welcome you and your family to King's Landing. My Lord, there are cabins prepared for you and Lady Lyanna at the OldGods' Revenge should you dislike the idea of staying at the Red Keep. Something I would recommend as the number of spies and lickspittles is greater than the number of swords on the Iron Throne." Ragnar said, clearly showing distaste in the last part. Lord Rickard nodded and clapped hands with Ragnar
" Lord Dovahkiin… Ragnar, I am more than sure I will take you up on that offer. Spies and falsity it's all the south have to offer. Wise was Cragan, who simply chopped their heads off." Rickard said, and Ragnar laughed. Rickard then looked at Dacey and smiled
" It seems the she-bear is now carrying a little dragon. Aye, a proper Northen Lord he shall be." Rickard said, and Dacey smiled as she put a hand on her large belly. Rickard then looked at his son, Benjen, and couldn't help but feel proud; the boy looked and had the presence of a man.
" My son, I've heard things about you, my son. Good Things. Lord Dovahkiin told me you are the best at everything you try, be it magical or martial, intellectual and moral. He said he made him proud as a son would. Looking at you right now, I can't help but share Lord Dovahkiin's feelings, my boy. Come hug your father," Rickard said, his voice calm and not loud, yet powerful. Benjen did as his father asked and hugged him.
Little Lyanna Stark ran to her brother and gave him a bone-shattering hug after Rickard let go of Benjen.
" I missed you, little brother!" Lyanna said hushedly
" And I, you, big sister," Benjen answered calmly
" Lord Stark, what are your plans for this wedding? Will you stay for the feast, or do you plan on just attending the wedding and then leaving?" Ragnar asked as he and Rickard began walking towards The OldGods' Revenge, Dacey by Ragnar's side with her arms interlocked with his; Benjen and Lyanna followed behind, engaged in conversation.
"I plan to attend the party; usually, I wouldn't even come; I would have to stay at Winterfell overseeing the logistics of the grains coming from the south and how to pay for them. Thanks to your House and the good work you did, as well as the taxes paid by you, All grains coming from the Riverlands and reach, have already been paid for, and they are and will be arriving in specific intervals. For that, I have to thank you, my friend." Rickard said
" Thank you, my lord; I am only doing my duty to the North. The North shall prosper. If I may ask, did you and the Iron Bank get a deal?" Ragnar asked; he saw that Dacey was a little flustered from all this walk and silently cast a healthy spell on her; she did glow a bit, but no one noticed; she squeezed Ragnar's hand and offered him a smile as thanks
" Aye. Tax exemption for 30 years, and they would invest 2 million in the canal. The construction will begin once winter is over." Rickard said.
" Then a new era shall come to The North; with Moat Cailin, and its canal trade will boom, and it will bring gold. There's also the future castle on Sea Dragon point, the one for Benjen. I will gift Benjen 60 warships, one galleon, the same kind of ships as the Revenge, and 50 trade ships. That would help to secure our western shores against those filthy reavers," Ragnar said, to which Rickard faltered
" Lord Dovahkiin, why would you do that? One hundred ships is a big fleet that will be expensive on you." Rickard said
"In truth, my lord, In this short time I've been fostering Benjen, I've come to see the lad as a son. Helping Benjen to protect his lands, his family, and himself is a good reason for me to do what I will do," Ragnar said with a small smile
" Aye… fostering has this effect on many people; Jon Arryn says the same about Eddard. I have decided that my son Eddard will be the Stark in the Moat; I sent a raven to the Eyrie asking Jon Arryn to focus Ned's studies on port cities and how to manage them. I hope he will be ready when the time comes." Rickard said and Ragnar nodded
" What about Brandon's future wife? Have you decided on someone yet? The Ryswell's girls, perhaps?" Ragnar asked
" Nay, I've been talking Hoster Tully about betrothing his eldest daughter with Brandon… after their marriage, The North will stop all business with the Reach and but solely from the Riverlands by a lower price," Rickard said to which Ragnar frowned but said nothing.
" House Tully… well, the match makes sense," Ragnar said
" I also would like to make a betrothal contract for your future first daughter and my future Grandson; your House rose quickly; you are my most powerful vassal… your House has Dragons. It's the only option we might have in the future." Rickard said, and Ragnar nodded reluctantly.
" Aye, as much as I despise these things, such is the way of nobles. If you get your Maester to draw a contract, I shall look into it…." Ragnar said slowly.
"Good… I know it's too early, but as you said, such is the way of nobles." Rickard said as he offered a sympathetic smile
Once Ragnar, Rickard, and the rest of the party got to the OldGods' Revenge. Rickard asked to see how well Benjen was doing with swordplay; Ragnar told Rickard to spar with the boy. It was a good spar; Rickard was way stronger, but Benjen was faster. Benjen had a better technique, but Rickard had more experience. Benjen was already a good swordsman at two-and-ten; he could probably win against many knights, but a man like Rickard was out of the question. By the end of the spar, Rickard couldn't help but smile and be proud of his son.
" Aye, you will be the best sword in the North… you are almost as good as Brandon. In a few years, no one will be able to best you, my son." Rickard said, and Benjen smiled brightly as the kid he was.
" Thank you, father! My magical prowess is even better! Lord Dovahkiin's said he would teach me the noble art of Destruction… the only one in the North other than him!!" Benjen said to his father, who smiled and ruffled his head
" Aye… one of a kind, aren't you?" Rickard said
Time Skip (the wedding morning)
Ragnar woke up early like always; he got dressed for the wedding and helped Dacey with her needs. Once they were ready, Ragnar and Dacey walked out of their cabin to find the sailors working already; some were cleanings the ship's floor, others were carrying supplies in and out, and others were guarding important places on the ship. For Ragnar, it was interesting to see all these workers doing their job in organized chaos; as he walked to the dining cabin to break his fast, Ragnar couldn't help but admire Davos for finding such a capable crew for The Revenge. These Galleons were expensive to make, and as such, not many of them would be made, seven at most but not made of Ironwood. Once they got to the dining cabin, Ragnar chose a table for him and Dacey and sat; the food was served in abundance, and as he ate, Ragnar saw his wife smiling at him fondly, something she had been doing for the last moon nonstop
" What are you thinking about, my love?" Ragnar asked
" Nothing… I was just thinking about names for our child. Do you have any suggestions?" Dacey said
" Well, why don't we do like this… if it's a girl, you name her, if it's a boy, I'll name him… we have three veto power each. What say you, love?" Ragnar asked
" It's a Deal then! I already have a girl's name ready! Lynara, in honor of the first daughter of Theon the hungry wolf. What about you, any Ideas?" Dacey said, and Ragnar nodded.
" Yes… I like Ysmir, The Dragon of The North, in the old tongue. It's a Strong name, with a strong meaning for our House." Ragnar said, and Dacey smiled
" Aye… a good name," Dacey said
After they ate, Ragnar and Dacey waited for the Starks; it didn't take long for them to arrive; Lyanna was wearing a grey dress with small Direwoves stamped on it, and Benjen wore gray clothes, as did Rickard. The Stark family ate calmly and after it, they joined Ragnar, and they all rode for the Great Sept of Baelor. The Sept was full of people, all taking and waiting for the ceremony to begin, which didn't long. Rhaegar Targaryen arrived; his face was light as it had been ever since Ragnar talked to him about prophecies. The Silver Prince looked calm and had no signs of his previous melancholic self.
When Elia Martell arrived at the Sept, Ragnar couldn't help but think she was one of the prettiest women he had ever seen. Her olive skin, brown eyes, and dark hair were almost divine. She looked pleased to be wedding Rhaegar, but she also looked apprehensive.
The Wedding came and went without issues, as did the feast. The only problem there was throughout the night was the Bedding Ceremony. Ragnar saw how uncomfortable Princess Elia Looked, so when someone called for the bedding ceremony, Ragnar simply grabbed Elia, lifted her high enough for no one to touch her, and carried her to hers and Rhaegar's bedroom. She looked at him with a thankful face, and when Rhaegar got there, naked and scratched by other women, they closed their bedroom door and began fucking like rabbits.
Ragnar, Dacey, The Starks, and Rhaella Targaryen left Kingslanding on the next day after saying their goodbyes to the rest of the royal family and some important Lords.
