Game of Thrones: A Song of Blood and Fire

In 276 AC, Viserys Targaryen was born as the second son of the Mad King. Rumours had it that the candles of the castle grew as the flames turned blue, to indicate either the birth of a dragon or the ending of a dynasty.

Valyrian blood

Visions began to plague my mind. I already knew what storm it was that I dreamt with, the storm of the day on which my mother died and my sister was born. The storm that would take away the last remains of the Targaryen fleet, and from which only few would survive. I already knew all this, and still the vision didn't leave me alone.

Still, I wasn't sure of wether I should be thankful or not. I already knew what was coming and the storms I saw served as preparation. At first I was terrified of it, of the tall waves and dark sea, however I eventually grew accustomed to it. The water covering me, the salty taste on my mouth as the sea devoured me, the rain that poured, adding even more water to the already vast ocean, the winds that destroyed boats with ease.

"You are distracted." said Cersei with a childish pout.

"Well, that's because I can defeat you even without focusing, my boring princess." I replied with an amused smirk.

"Hey! The story of last week was great!" she complained, however I simply waved my hand.

"Meh, it was decent at best." I told her. "It was simply a story of you buying jewellery."

"Well, but everything I do is great, so the story should be great." she said while crossing her arms. "Besides, all my servants liked it."

I rolled my eyes at her words and even she herself chuckled at them.

We both knew how servants could be. They would lie to try and make you feel better about yourself, even if it didn't make sense.

"Anyway, when did you say your brother was coming?" I asked her.

"I believe he will be visiting me here on the way to Casterly Rock next year, once he finishes squiring." she replied with a happy expression.

It was interesting seeing Cersei. She was still a child, years away from what I saw in the books and, while her cruelty and viciousness was already there, she was also probably the only friend I had.

What a depressing thought, for your only friend to be an incestous psychopath...

I paused my thoughts as I recalled an expression perfect for this moment, 'said the pot to the kettle' I belief it was. Yeah considering my family history, I don't really have the right to call her either incestous or psychopath, after all it wasn't her that was burning servants alive left and right, nor did she marry her brother.

"Hmm, who knows?" I muttered, seemingly deep in thought. "Maybe he will have better stories than you."

A smug smirk formed on my face while a vein popped on her forehead.

It probably was a strange sight, a 4 year old child bickering with a 14 years old lady, however we both enjoyed the company of each other. Our usual banter was rather relieving to be honest, and her witty comebacks were improving with time.

Poor Robert really, he will have to deal with a more annoying Cersei than in the original story, however considering he will end my family, kill my brother and send assassins after us, well dealing with a more annoying Cersei was something he deserved.

I knew Cersei disliked the fake and boring people that surrounded her back in Casterly Rock, which combined with her childish curiosity meant she grew quite interested in me.

She still hadn't figured out how I burned the leave that day and, while she had already stopped asking about it, I could see the curiosity on her eyes. As for the fake people, well I was rather honest with her. I occasionally called her boring, which annoyed her greatly, but I could also see she had grown to not hate it.

All in all, I believe that what she liked the most about me was that I didn't treat her like a lady. Instead, I acted around her like a guy would act around another. I made fun of her and made fun of others with her, I played strategy games and discussed things like swordsmanship and fights, and I could tell she liked it.

"Anyway, let's leave the game at this." I said, standing up.

"Why?" she asked with a grin. "Afraid to loose?"

"Heh, not in a thousand years." I said with a grin that matched hers. "I simply need to leave."

Cersei sighed before getting up as well. "So, are you coming to the wedding?" she asked, referring to the wedding between my brother and Elia that was set for tomorrow.

"Who knows." I replied while shrugging my shoulders. "I am just a child, how could I possibly make such decisions by myself?"

Cersei chuckled at my sarcastic tone before shaking her head and leaving.

I too left, along with Willem who simply stared at me.

"Sigh, I know you don't like the Lannisters, but it is important to maintain relationships with big houses..." I said in a wise tone, however my childish appearance ruined it.

"I know you are happy to have a friend." he said with a slightly sad expression. "However, does it really need to be a Lannister? Lannisters-"

"Yes, I know." I said, interrupting him. "Lannisters can't be trusted. However, there is a chance that she might be my wife, you know?" I said and, while in truth it was a realistic possibility for everyone else, I knew that it would not happen.

I also began wondering if perhaps Cersei thought so too, that we would one day get married. It would make sense, since in the prophecy Maggy should have told her that she would be queen, and for that she would have to marry the prince. She might expect Rhaegar and Elia to die perhaps, that way I would inherit the throne and, from a logical point of view, the best choice for queen was her. It was certainly a more realistic possibility than a rebellion happening and the destruction of a House that ruled Seven Kingdoms for centuries.

"Well, let us put that aside for now." said Willem with a sigh while changing the topic. "How are your classes with your mother?"

"They are going well." I replied with a smile. "Though High Valyrian is hard, it comes to me with surprising ease."

"Hmm, that must be the blood of Valyria running through your veins, my prince." he explained, and to be honest it didn't sound as stupid as I expected.

Saying that a language was easier because your ancestors knew it would have been dumb in any other world, however in the mess this world is, it wasn't really a stretch.
