Desperation

Every day after the school was over,he would start walking towards the outer boundary of the city wall. His new part time job paid pretty well according to the standards but it came at a high risk. With six months to spare for the college entrance exams , he decided to save up ten thousand RMB for an awakening potion. He had a saving of around five thousand RMB from all the odd jobs he have been doing over the years.

His present job was of a monster baiter. It was a new job where the baiter wearing monster attracting scents would go deep within the forest and attract the desired monster to a perfect vantage point. A misstep was enough to cause death but it paid around five hundred RMB for a day, so the gains outweighed the loss.

Reaching inside the camp premises, he heard a wild array of sounds echoing throughout the area. After looking around for sometime,he came in contact with a group which had a sign board for seven hundred RMB a day for a monster baiter. He hurriedly walked towards them and signed up for the job.

Seeing a pretty teenage boy signing up for the job ,they all looked doubtful. Drake understanding the situation took up his mission accomplishment list and mailed it to them. Upon seeing it ,all of them were convinced. He was asked to meet at the plaza as soon as possible . Reaching there he saw a group of five individuals three male and two females who looked quite battle hardened.

Before setting up for the journey,they all introduced themselves. The tall muscular man was called Philip and the twin males named themselves as Sam and Tom. The females refrained from saying their names and looked at me with contempt,which i decided to ignore. Sam was blessed with a reflector ability along with his twin Tom being the same, it was a C class ability according to them. Philip was blessed with twice critical which doubles his strength it was also a C class ability. The ladies as usual kept their mouth shut

We boarded a van which looked quite good from outside,after checking off from the gate the van started moving towards the jungle.I was told that we were going to hunt a beginner stage monster named Lava fox. The individuals in our group were at beginner stage too making it a somewhat safe mission.

I was constantly feeling a tingle within my heart since the time i boarded on the van and it kept on increasing the more deep i went towards the forest .My intuitions were rarely wrong and the tingling sensation was rare to me with the only occurence being when my parents left for their last mission.

I decided to compose my nerves and started checking my equipment backpack . There was a Novice knife present along with a first aid kit .Bottles of water and compressed food for emergency were neatly stacked within the bag .

I was no where proficient in fighting but regularly attended the communal fighting hall which taught hand to hand combat for free. It was pretty much laughable to think that it would help me in any situation but it was better than going blind atleast.

The forest which we were going to was known as Aldera forest which pretty much spanned across three cities of the Northern province. Earth was divided into three countries the Dragon country ,the Vermillion country and the White tiger country. We were located within the Dragon country which was divided into four provinces mainly north ,south east and west.

As the van was speeding in suddenly we heard a Scccreech...sound coming from the star board side of our van and then Ka...boom all went black.
