Chapter eight

Being tied down was the thing that overwhelmed Sunny the most when she thought about it. Being tied up is scarier than having to watch a ghost movie alone in the middle of the night with the lights off. Sunny never thought that she should be tied to someone, whether it's just a commitment, dating, or marriage. It's tied up and it's creepy.

It has been more than half a year that Sunny and Rangga are close to each other. Rangga has introduced Sunny to Rangga's parents, Rangga's family is very warm, a typical family who believes in happy endings more than sad endings. The Rangga family is a family that all human beings have always dreamed of, parents who are very romantic with each other, have a very understanding brother, always have plans for the weekend, and also a brilliant career. The Rangga family is the definition of a family that does not know the meaning of lack. That's Sunny's point of view.

In contrast to Sunny's family who doesn't understand what warmth means, Sunny's family is the opposite of Rangga. The Sunny family is a family that likes to collect disgrace on each other. Her parents act like strangers but live under the same roof. A sister who never wants to know whether her parents are in trouble or not and always sends her family data to moneylenders so that she is free from calls and threats. Initially, Sunny thought the broken home was for divorced parents, but it was wrong. Broken homes are not only for parents who are separated by country and religion but parents who never get along and choose to be together can also be categorized as broken homes. Sunny had never felt the warmth of family, weekend plans, and extended family gatherings for the holidays. Sunny had seen how her father was having an affair and spending money in a very disrespectful way, knowing that her brother-in-law had done the same thing made Sunny think that her family was cursed not to add men to her family. That's why Sunny shunned attachment to men so much. Sunny is afraid, if Sunny is tied up, she will also experience the same thing.

"Sun, are you a member of the familiarization night committee?" asked Desty.

Sunny shook her head. "Nope, I don't want to."

Desty nodded in agreement. "Same! But, I was invited by Panji to join."

"Me too, huh! Are you being terrorized by him?" Sunny accepts bribes from Rangga. "I was terrorized to death with him. He said, ``Tell him to help him because his team needs 2 or more people, that's what, but I don't get the point."

"So you want to come along?"

"No, no!" Sunny replied confidently until the food that was in her mouth came out. "I'm too lazy to go with it. Do you want to come along?"

Rangga gave him a tissue, which Sunny welcomed. "Thanks, babe."

"I'm also really lazy, I just don't like to refuse," said Desty.

"Yes, that is Desty anyone ... when, anyway, do you dare refuse if someone asks for help?" Sunny pouted.

"Well, isn't it good if someone asks for help, and we can help him/her, right?" Rangga joined in after swallowing the last mouthful of his food, then drank his cola before giving it to Sunny, telling her to drink after him.

"Besides, what's wrong with joining the familiarization night committee?" asked Ranga again. "Don't you can add experience and knowledge?" Then his eyes stared at Sunny coquettishly. "Later, right, we can date there."

"oh gosh!" welcome Desty and Sunny together.

"It's so bad, no," replied Desty. "Having to wake up in the morning, that's the laziest thing. Whereas I have insomnia, is it time I don't sleep?"

"I'm also lazy, really, the part that wakes me up in the morning," said Ranga. "Moreover, the committee has to wake up earlier than new students. Crazy, at 2 in the morning, yes, I have to be on campus?!"

Desty and Sunny compactly rolled their eyes lazily. Who has insomnia like us? can't relate.

"No unclear dramas from other teams, really sucks." Sunny's eyes were far away thinking about how her drama would be at the event if she were a member of the committee. "Duh, just thinking about it already sucks, especially if you have to join in playing the drama."

"Des ... you're disturbing people dating. don't you?"

Sunny saw a group of her friends come to the cafeteria table which was empty because it was only filled with Sunny, Rangga, and Desty.

Desty who heard it was whiny. "So am I, I'm from earlier, because you guys took so long!" She rolled her eyes.

Sunny just rolled her eyes lazily. Didn't want to respond.

Panji from nowhere joined in. "No, will you attend the division head meeting tonight? You're the division head, right?"

"I'm not the head of the division." Rangga, who was playing with his cell phone, immediately answered when he heard Panji's question.

"Huh? Adam said you're the head of the design division?" Panji scratched his head suddenly and itchy.

"That's Rian, I'm more suited to be a lackey, rather than a boss like that. It's not good if you have to manage people you don't know."

Then the two of them engaged in -a-fun chat about the meeting that would be held later even in the secret association. Makes Sunny so annoyed for some reason.

"Sun, is Prof. Yale's assignment done yet?" Windy asked when he saw Sunny huddled beside Rangga.

"Not yet," Sunny answered lazily. "It's really hard. My laptop can't handle it."

Bagas immediately sneered. "The laptop or your brain that is not strong?"

"My brain!" Sunny glared. "Have you done your job yet?" Sunny asked Bagas. "Where is Raja, huh? Usually, you two like a cellphone without a battery. Can't be separated."

"Hey, don't forget that your job was done because of me," Windy answered Sunny's question. "Where does he want to open the laptop? He only works on gaming."

"Huh! Talking about my brain pretentiously. Your brain isn't doing those jobs either."

"CK, my brain--"

"Sun..." Rangga patted the top of Sunny's head gently. His eyes looked at Sunny with a questioning look. "You're not on duty yet?"

"Not yet, why?" Sunny asked back.

Ranga looked at him disapprovingly. "Didn't I remember last night? Why haven't you done it yet?"

"I was sleep last night ... after watching last night with you, I fell asleep immediately." Sunny said, "I haven't thought about doing my homework anymore."

Rangga chuckled, his eyes stared at Sunny in disgust. "You, it's a habit, you're always lazy about it. Sun, this is a job, not something that everyone has to be lazy about, you know?!"

Sunny glared in surprise when she heard Rangga's shout. The people who were at the same table with Sunny also fell silent.

Sunny is indeed wrong, always neglecting any work, but he doesn't have to yell at her in public, right? It would only make everyone misunderstand when thinking about trivial matters.

Sunny immediately dragged Rangga when she saw people looking at her curiously and with pity. It's ridiculous about what's going on right now.

When she arrived at the side of the cafeteria which directly faced the big field, Sunny immediately stomped her hand. His eyes stared intently at Ranga.

"What the hell just now?!" shoot Sunny straight away. She smoothed her hair in the wind. "You can be angry, but you don't have to yell in front of people!"

Rangga sighed, rubbing his face in despair. "You, you can't be lazy like that, Sun. This is no longer a high school student's job. If you don't do it, you'll just be punished. You'll be repeating the same course next year, and that's bad. You want to pay for the course. the same thing over and over again, keep wasting your parents' money in vain just because of your stupidity?"

Sunny frowned, "why is your voice lower here than in the cafeteria?"

"That's not the problem!" answered Rangga exasperatedly, almost screaming. "This is your super lazy problem..."

"Yeah, okay, sorry for my lazy problem." Sunny reached for everything she could reach. "But, why do you have to yell at me? Was my mistake so fatal that you yelled at me in public? No, I don't know why you're so pissed off like that, but you don't have to yell at me in public. That's not cool."

"I'm annoyed and I'm sorry, but you being lazy makes me sick, Sun," Ranga replied. "Sun, you're not once or twice lazy and negligent with your work, I always remind you when you have an assignment or anything, why aren't you doing it? Do you think I'm not tired? Not sleepy after playing with you? Yes, we are. the same. I'm tired, I have to drop you off, go home, clean up on duty. What time do you think I sleep? I stay up late just because of the task because I know it's important."

"It's just a matter of duty, and you're this angry?" Sunny asked in disbelief.

"Not once, Sunny! You've done that so many times."

"Okay, I'm sorry." Sunny closed the conversation quickly, lazy to continue because no one wanted to budge. Anyway, here, Sunny is at fault. It was impossible to get Rangga to apologize for scolding him in public. Yes, even if it's wrong because after all, yelling at someone in front of decent things is very disrespectful.

Rangga immediately looked away without answering Sunny's, leaving Sunny alone on the sidelines. Ignoring Sunny who shouted for him.

Heck! What's wrong with Ranga today? They are just okay this morning?!
