Frozen Flame

In a single night, Leo's life changed for the better and for worse. He encountered a demon, who asks him to become his successor. His father, who was once the pillar of his family, was now crippled and depressed. So Leo had to rekindle his childhood dreams, one where he wished to become an existence that was both feared and respected by the universe. He, as the successor of a fallen clan, will tread the path of power. It might be a harsh path, but for the sake of his family and his own dreams he will do it. Note: Updates will be slow, since I'm still fixing most of the plot but the first few chapters are done. More specific tags: #clanrevival #futuristic-cultivation #dragonprotagonist

Leo sighed, "Guess I'll have to take a shower, maybe I should check that house icon out as well."

He activated his star-link and tapped on the new icon that appeared, he remembered that the A.I. said it was downloading something so he thought it would be in the form of an app.

The app's icon was similar to his ring, it was simply called "Main Menu". Transparent panels started materializing before him.

He first tapped on the [City Map] option and marked an area on the map, it was the one with the house mark.

He thought, 'It seems like the AI of this city will give you free accomodations as long as you're a registered clan member. I hope there's running water'.

He did not think of exiting the ring as he thought that his Mom might already be home, he wouldn't want to embarrass himself in front of her.

As he walked around the city, he decided to check some of the new things he unlocked and the status update.

"So it added my cultivation state, but what's the meaning of Lesser State?"

[Cultivation state too low to answer.]

Leo couldn't help but sigh once more, his interest was piqued but that did not mean he really needed someone to answer him.

Leo continued to read as he thought, 'So it records mystic battle arts that I own, not just those I have learned.'

As he took a moment to glance at the streets, he noticed that he was already at his destination.

Different from the center of the city, this area had nothing but houses and apartments. With the occasional convenience store marked on the map.

Leo remarked, "Sometimes, I feel like I'm not even inside a spatial ring, but at a different planet instead." as he gazed at the not so artificial looking moon.

He moved his gaze to the gate in front of him, before scrutinizing it. It was a metal gate that had two iron plaques beside it, one of which had letters carved in it while the other had none.

'Maybe they have rune dolls? If they don't…', Leo felt shivers down his spine with his next thought and decided not to think about it anymore.

He mumbled, "In any case, they were able to do it pretty fast" as he read the letters in the plaque.

'Leonardo Redfrost'

Not wasting any more time, he decided to walk inside the house. He wanted to rush into the shower, however he also thought that it was best that he checked the whole house first.

The house was neither small nor big, it had two bedrooms, a bathroom, a dining room that was also a kitchen, a large empty basement, and a modest living room. He also noticed that he couldn't enter the other bedroom, but he knew it was one through the zoomed in [City Map].

'I'll take a shower for now'.

A few minutes later, he got out of the bathroom and entered the only bedroom he could enter. When he checked the closet earlier, he found out that there were clothes in it. They also seemed fresh and new, as if they were made only recently.

He stared at the mirror after he dressed himself up, trying to find out if it fit him.

He was currently wearing a black shirt on top of his red long sleeves, then white and red shoes similar to sneakers, and long black pants.

As he scanned his figure however, he suddenly gasped before he asked himself.

"Were my eyes this beautiful before?"

A day ago his eyes were a deep black, akin to a black abyss. Now, however, his eyes were as blue as ice.

[Simple Explanation: Those with black eyes either have dormant bloodlines or none at all, while those with other colors have awakened their bloodlines.]

When he read this panel, it did not even take a moment for him to connect it to his bloodline awakening.

'So it's like an extra reward? I'll take it then, now my eyes are similar to Mom's… Wait? Doesn't that mean my mom also has a bloodline?'

When he came to that conclusion, he facepalmed.

'Of course mom does, at least one of my parents need to have a dragon bloodline for me to awaken one'.

He sighed at his own stupidity and turned around, prepared to leave the room but something caught his attention. He noticed that the books he stacked had increased in number, by three to be exact.

He asked, "How did these get here?"

A panel materialized to answer his question.

[I have sent you basic elemental control manuals for your three unique elemental affinities.]

With curiousity burning in his eyes he asked, "How?"

He waited for a few moments but the AI didn't answer, he suspected that it must be a deep secret since an heir to the clan like him could not get the answer directly. He sighed and was about to leave the room, when he remembered a question he had in mind.

"Oh right, why was I able to breakthrough this fast?"

[One of the many benefits of a bloodline awakening is that it is way easier to make breakthroughs in cultivation.

Another benefit is that it will strengthen your foundation in cultivation, but you didn't have one yet thus it prepared one for you.]

As he started to summarize the benefits of a bloodline awakening in his mind, he realized that they were all too amazing.

Once he calmed himself down, he decided to read the books first so he didn't have to bring it with him everywhere. Just like he thought, when he opened each of them, all the knowledge it contained entered his mind like a flood which of course gave him a massive headache.

He said with a bitter smirk, "I probably shouldn't have done it consecutively" before he leaned backwards and felt the softness of the bed. He laid there for a few minutes, waiting for the headache to pass.

He raised his right arm to reach for the ceiling and thought, 'With these I might be able to earn enough to buy medicine for Dad, and he might even be able to cultivate again'.

He lifted his legs and waved it back down so he could stand up quickly. However, reality has always proved itself to be more disappointing than one's fantasies, thus he failed to do so.

He sighed, "Why is it so hard to do?" before he stood up properly and left his room. As he walked through the hallway, he opened up the [City Map] and marked his next destination. It was a place marked with a circle, as if to say that it was a teleportation circle.

As he walked down the streets, he decided to check out a panel that reminded him of something the Old Demon said. Which was to look for the word 'Mission', and it so happens that this word was also the name of a panel he could open.

Four panels materialized in front of him.

[Daily Missions]

[Monthly Missions]

[Annual Missions]

[Main Missions]

Leo decided to tap on each panel, but only [Daily Missions] and [Main Missions] actually had missions. The former was about practicing the techniques he knew. While the latter was about killing members of some clan he didn't know of, reviving the clan, and recruiting people into the Fire Dragon God Clan.

One of the main missions was:

[Mission: Clan Recruitment (Easy)

Objectives:

Find descendants of the Fire Dragon God Clan and invite them back to the clan.

Time Limit:

None

Reward/s: Random

The quality of the reward may lower or become better depending on the amount of members recruited before being submitted as "Mission Complete".

Hint:

Every member, or descendant, of the clan has hair as red as pale roses.]

Leo shook his head when he saw the missions for killing people from other clans.

He mumbled, "I don't think I have it in me, maybe in the future but not now."

He swiped every main mission out of existence, and sighed at his own weakness. He felt he was too weak to do them, both physically and mentally.

'I might be able to do the clan recruitment, but I can't just recruit mom and dad. Heck, I might not even be able to recruit dad'.

*Pak!*

Leo slapped himself and said to himself, "I should stop thinking about things I can't do, and focus on what I can".

His gaze fell on the [Daily Missions] that he currently had, and noticed that most of the rewards were DC and CP. The former was something he was familiar with, but the latter was something he wasn't.

He asked, "What does CP mean?"

[Simple Explanation: CP means Clan Points, in other words, the currency used in the clan. They are used for buying cultivation resources, cultivation tokens, cultivation techniques, etc. To check the wide variety of things you can buy with CP, please use the [Shops] command.]

"Maybe later, for now I need to find out how I can go home" said Leo as he stood before a rune circle.

[Please step inside the teleportation rune circle and state your destination]

He sighed, "I learned a whole lot of new things today".

This was the first time in his 15 and half years of life that he got to see runes in action, he did see one in the Cultivation Tower but it was already active when he saw it.

He raised his foot and stepped forward, when he did, the thousands of runes along the circle glowed blue.

He whispered, "Redwind City".

The runes running along the two triangles within the circle hummed and glowed a beautiful blue. In the next moment, his vision went blank and went back another moment later.

Once his senses returned, he saw the familiar blue ceiling and felt the bed which was not as comfortable as the bed in the ring.

He wondered, 'Why did I even leave that space when I was going to sleep anyway?'

Too lazy to go back inside, he closed his eyes and slept. Unnoticed by him, with every breathe he took, he was subconsciously cultivating.
