SUDDEN NEED TO TASTE HER LIPS

Before Rexana could stop Daerin, she already saw him sauntering inside the eatery that she had left with no choice but to follow. Yes, Daerin did tell her to wait for him there and that could mean, she wasn't allowed to follow. However, Rexana was always Rexana, she never even followed her parents when they warn her.

She was a bit late when she got inside the eatery. She didn't know what happened but all she had seen was Aunt Pina's startled face watching Daerin holding firmly on Bruno's collar. She could hardly make out what Daerin was saying but Bruno's face showed nothing but fear.

Daerin pushed Bruno hard enough and break the table that he landed, making Aunt Pina and Rexana scream in surprise in the background.

"This is the last warning I am giving you man. Do it again and next time will be different! I'll assure you, you'll gonna regret it." Daerin reckoned with a stern voice while his finger pointing firmly at the wincing Bruno, lying helpless and weak between the broken table.

"Daerin?"

Rexana's voice caught his attention and he abruptly walk back out to her and grab her hands to leave the eatery. Nevertheless, before he finally did so, he stopped and pull out his wallet and left some folded bills on one of the tables and looked back at Aunt Pina.

"Here's my pay for the damages, I'm sorry." He pulled the startled and silent Rexana out and scurried away with a pace that Rexana could even barely keep up.

Nonetheless, Rexana was liking it. She didn't know why Daerin did what he was doing, but she got a feeling that it was because of her and because of what she said to him. She was slightly feeling sorry for Bruno, but she knew that he deserved it and what happened only showed something that gave Rexana an unexplainable bliss.

'Did Daerin stand up for me again? He is my hero, an angel being sent to me.' Rexana couldn't help but giggle while keeping up with Daerin's footsteps.

Rexana felt sad when they reached her house. She had always wanted that moment with Daerin, not to end, especially upon knowing that one of these days she might not see him again.

"So… We're here, go get inside and I gotta go." Daerin was about to turn around and leave when Rexana pulled his shirt.

"Wait! Daerin, wait a bit, please."

"Yes? You need something else?"

"I don't want to get inside yet, I want to have more time with you. To… just talk with you." She didn't exactly know what to say nor knew what to ask Daerin. But she wanted to know more. She couldn't help but wonder about the way Daerin had been treating her and making her feel. If she had to read between the lines, she surely would think that Daerin liked her too. However, he said nothing about his feelings, all she could do but guess.

Rexana didn't want that anymore. Before Daerin could go back to the city she wanted to make sure if she was right in feeling that way towards Daerin and if he liked her the way she liked him too. It might be like throwing a fist at the moon, thinking that Daerin felt the same way but she wanted to know the reason why he was acting like that, why he was exceptionally good to her.

"No problem, I am not that tired. So, I can stay a bit and talk more." Daerin pulled some fallen' palm tree leaves and lay them on the sand for them to sit.

Rexana covered her mouth in happiness, even a very little more moment with Daerin was priceless and she got it all for free and without hesitation from him. She must be special, and that gave her a little more confidence to say all she wanted to say to him.

She sat next to him and took a deep breath before opening her mouth again.

"Did you do that to Bruno because of me?"

Daerin smiled staring straight to the starry horizon.

"Yes, and now I'm at least relieved and assured that he won't be bothering you again when I'm gone."

"Gone… Will you really have to go?" Rexana's face fell again.

"We already talked about it, you already know it. Yes, I have to go because that's what I have to do. Don't worry okay, Ms. Chile already know about you and just go ask her and she won't hesitate to help you and Bruno, he won't…"

Daerin's words were left unfinished when Rexana kneel in front of him and held his hand.

"Please Daerin, I begged you, please don't go. I will be very devastated even just a day that I couldn't see you. Yes, I won't hesitate any more and I will take advantage of this moment to tell you this. Daerin, I don't only like you. I think I'm falling in love with you."

Daerin snickered, glancing to his side. He couldn't bear to look at Rexana. He had partly anticipated it, yet it still surprised him. He thought at first it was just an ego boost for him but he suddenly felt affected the moment he saw her tears glittered with the moon's reflection as it slid down to her cheeks.

He abruptly took out his handkerchief from his hind pocket to wipe Rexana's tears.

"Wait, Ana, don't cry. Those feelings you had for me? It won't mean anything someday. You are still young and pretty. One of these days, one man will come into your life to love you and that's not me. I just want you to remember me as your hero, not someone you think."

Daerin didn't know if Rexana was listening to what he was saying or not, but she startled him when she held his hand while he was trying to wipe her tears. She held it firmly and pulled it down to her lips, unhesitatingly kissing his fingers and the palm of his hands while she muttered, "Please don't go."

It caught Daerin off guard, with only a little beam of the moonlight, illuminating Rexana's face. He couldn't help but gaze and appreciate the pretty gem in front of her. He wondered why she suddenly look so seductive that way. Rexana might simply kiss his hands like how a child kissed but the way his body reacting it was different.

He suddenly realized that she was a lady and a pretty one. He suddenly felt uncomfortable, he knew what he have to do. He had to stop letting Rexana feel the way she felt at the moment because he knew he couldn't pay it back.

However, instead of pulling his hands away from her lips. He suddenly went out of his mind and run his fingers behind Rexana's nape and pull her close to him, so close that the tip of their nose almost touched each other.

His mind thought that he should stop it there, but something in him grew and suddenly felt the need to taste her lips.
