"Hey, get up." I opened my eyes and jumped backwards. That was NOT my dad looking back at me. This...thing had bright blue eyes and white hair. They were very tiny and skinny. Their hair fell into front of their face. Their eyes filled with panic when they saw my reaction. "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry if I scared you. I'm Estral." It held out it's hand.

I looked at it before shaking it. "Okay, Estral. What are you doing in my house?" Before they could answer, I interrupted them. "Better question, who are you?"

Estral frowned. "Did you forget your birthday or something, Richard?" I raised my eyebrow and looked at my phone.

'September 19th, 2021. 7:23 a.m.?' I thought. I looked at Estral. "I'll ask again. Who are you?"

Estral sighed and hopped off my bed. "I'm Estral, I'm your guardian angel, Richie."

I scoffed and got out of bed. I got a better look at this guy. He had on a white T-Shirt with light blue ripped jeans. He had white converses on and a white watch. He was a scrawny guy. How could one be a guardian angel? Why couldn't I have a bulkier angel? How is this guy supposed to protect me? I stretched my arms and walked over to my closet. "Yeah? How are you supposed to protect me, huh?" I looked at him. "I'd probably have to take care of you. You're so tiny."

He rolled his eyes. "I won't hesitate to smite you, Richie. Do not test me." He walked around my room, looking at the posters on my wall.

I glared at him before I turned back to my closet. I pulled out my black leather jacket. "Don't touch anything. This is my room, so you shouldn't even be in here."

Estral pointed at a poster. "Who is 'The Neighborhood'? And what's the song 'Sweater Weather'?" I ignored him and grabbed a pair of black ripped jeans. Estral walked over to my drawers and peaked inside. "Are these your friends? He's really pretty." I was getting sick of this guy.

I walked over and looked at who he was pointing at. It was a picture of me, Hailey, Jacob, and London at a carnival last year. He was pointing directly at London. I yanked it away from him. "THEY are my best friend. Stop going through my things." I walked back over to my closet. "Are all angels nosey like you?" I asked.

Estral sighed and sat on my bed. He bit the inside of his cheek. "No, I'm just really curious of the human world. This is my first time being a guardian angel!" He said excitedly.

So, they put me with a newbie?! I looked at him, my glare intensifying. "Get out. I need to change. And don't come in here without my permission."

Estral nodded his head respectfully and left my room. He shut the door and I got up and locked it. I tore of my T-Shirt and as I did, I kept thinking about Estral. Why would they send me a newbie? He's probably going to get me killed! I don't want a newbie angel!

I finished getting dressed as my door got kicked down. I groaned. "I said not to come in-" I froze when I saw Hailey, Jacob, and London walk in. "Oh, hey guys."

Hailey chuckled. "Your angel's adorable."

I chuckled. "You want him? They gave me a newbie!"

London shrugged their shoulders. "So? It'll be funnier. The newbies are the best protectors, I heard."

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, as if. He kept going through my stuff!"

Jacob sighed and looked at the door. Estral was frowning at my words. Jacob got his angel a week ago. He always has told his angel to meet him at the school. "He doesn't know, does he?" He asked Estral.

Estral shook his head. "Uh, no sir. Not yet."

Jacob scoffed. He turned to me. "You seriously haven't even listened to what happens when-"

"No, because I don't care!" I raised my voice as everyone went quiet. I sighed. "Let's just go." I looked at Estral. "Stay here. I mean it." I heard Jacob sigh as I left my room. We made our way to London's car and I got in the front seat.

I looked at my bedroom window and saw Estral sitting on my sill, staying exactly as I said. London got in and sighed at me. "Rich, you gotta realize that guardian angels have to be there all the time. Jacob's are always there and Hailey and I get ours in 17 days. I just..." They bit their cheek. "I don't want you doing something you regret. Jacob said-"

I put my hand up and London stopped talking. "London," I said quietly. "I'll be just fine without one. Besides, I have you and the other two. That's enough for me."

London gave me a sad smile. "Okay, just don't say I didn't warn you." Hailey and Jacob got in and London started the car.

"Your angel is obedient." Hailey said from the back.

I turned around and looked at her. London pulled away and I looked back at my window. Estral was looking at his fingernails. "What do you mean?" I asked them.

Jacob frowned. "Your guardian angel does everything you tell them to. Estral refused to leave your room because you commanded him to. Hailey and I tried talking to him to get him to leave, but he shook his head. Rich," Jacob looked at Hailey. She looked very disappointed. "He's crying. He kept repeating on how he shouldn't even be your guardian angel and he feels like he failed you." He paused. "Already."

I rolled my eyes. Are all angels this overdramatic? "Yeah? Well, I hope he knows to fly right back up there, tell his boss, and get me a better, more skilled guardian angel."

Jacob went to say something, but Hailey stopped him.

The rest of the car ride was quiet, no one said a word. Jacob and Hailey looked out opposite windows and London didn't even look at me. Why is it such a big deal on how I use my angel?! God, everyone's so annoying.

We pulled up to the school and I groaned. Of course Janelle and Derek would be there. Janelle Morgan and Derek Grave were the rudest idiots in town. They haven't dropped my mom's death ever since they found out.

Janelle looked like your average Miss Homecoming Queen. She had dark brown hair that always had a different hairstyle and today, she chose to straighten it and put a small braid down the middle. Her dark blue eyes always showed hatred. This was all tied together with her fairly pale skin. She wore a plaid skirt and a white polo. If she thinks that's cute-

Derek had a buzz cut and his brown hair was made for that look. He had green eyes that reminded me of vomit. He had darker skin and he usually wore a hoodie with ripped jeans. He was very repetitive. Derek always had a thing for Janelle, but she's always rejected him. It's hilarious because he always tries to turn it on me.

London parked the car and sighed. "Why are they waiting out here?" They said to themselves.

I shrugged. "Probably to make my day worse than it already is." I stepped out of the car and Janelle walked towards us. "Look," I started. "Get out of my face."

Janelle smirked. "Or what? You gonna get your weak angel after me?" Even though I knew she was right, I tensed up. London placed a hand on my shoulder to calm me down. Derek smiled. "You know, Richard," She started. Janelle stepped closer to me. "They say your angel represents it's owner."

Derek smirked evilly. "Maybe yours is a queer. Or maybe their mom is dead like yours." They laughed together.

Before I could swing at them, I saw a bright light. Estral appeared in front of my friends and I. His eyes were a bright white colored. I stared at him, then at Jacob. "I'm going to give you five seconds to get out of here." He said.

I blushed. This was so embarrassing. Derek and Janelle laughed. "Or what?" Derek asked. "You gonna smite me?"

Estral smirked and stepped towards them. His hand bawled into a fist as they crumpled to the ground. "Five..." They looked at him like he was crazy, but they crawled away from him. Estral continued to step forward. "Four..."

Derek chuckled, pain lacing his voice. "Get the he-"

Estral clenched harder, stopping Derek mid-sentence. "Three!"

Janelle called out in pain. "What are you doing to us?!"

Estral continued to step towards them. They crawled farther away before they reached a car. They froze as Estral was standing over them. I looked at my friends, who all had their mouths wide opened. "Two!"

They scrambled up and ran away, limping as they left the parking lot. Estral unbawled his fist as his eyes dimmed and his normal blue appeared. I stared at him. "Estral-" I started.

He turned around and glared at me. "If I wouldn't have been there, you would've ended up in the hospital, London would've died, Hailey and Jacob would've been shot. Derek had a gun on him, but don't worry, the principal just now caught him with it."

He looked at his feet, obviously embarrassed. He waved goodbye and before I could do anything, he disappeared.

I looked at Jacob. He shrugged his shoulders. "Abraxas has never done that before."

"Indeed I haven't." We all jumped and turned around, only to come face to face with a man. He looked more mature than Estral. He had dark black hair with a perfect amount of scruff on his chin. He wore a white suit and white shoes. He had a cross around his neck. He stepped towards us. "You see, Richard, Estral is a special angel." He paused in front of me. "He's a Nephilim."
